the use of imperial herb?

I was curious of the imperial herb, so I bought 500 shovels, but for what use?
What is the point of digging after a bunch of fruits?

also keep in mind that i believe some of those fruits are used in item composition for creating potions and such. its worth making your own pots over buying them as they have a greater effect.
