Well if you have played ragnarok before and then see a screenshot of this game that is probably the first thing that you think.

I have played ragnarok a few times before and i'm really tired of the same monsters and maps and cities.

At least it looks a little better.

Waiting for the OB to see if is good.

in my opinion, i'd prefer RO over this, graphic-wise.
mainly because the crits in RO are so fun to look at ;xx
and the facial features of the charas in ragnarok looks more adorable.
not to say that this game isn't fun, that is~ just a slight resemblance to RO
that makes everyone compare them all the time XD

With so many games on the market why not have a few "rip-offs"? The greatest thing about a game that resembles a previously made game is that:

1)players all start from scratch compared to just starting out in RO and having to compete with a server full of bots.
2)the game dev should a have a heads up as to what works and and their own innovative ideas in hopes of making a better game.

Cheap ripoff?

Honestly the gameplay differs from that of Ragnarok greatly.
The stat, skill and battle system have several differences and the item system is nothing of the like.
It reminds me more of a similarity to guildwars or wow but not in the same style.

I find RO to be so much more boring and less innovative even if I have far more and higher leveled characters there.

Yeah it has it's bugs and shortcomings, but it's still young.

well if you have played RO long enough, you'll agree that this game is a ripoff, but definitely NOT CHEAP!. who knows someday it might surpass RO?

Skill system is based on the books where you can buy them from NPC or mobs' drop. i'm guessing in the future there will be a special skill that is only droppable from a rare mob loot. unlike RO, where everything is provided for you.

I wouldn't call this game a ripoff, because its got its own unique enemies, lands, and many other different aspects of the game. I mean, sure its got some layouts that remind me of Fly For Fun and World of Warcraft, but the scrolls, abilities, battle systems and stuff like that can't be helped. Everything needs to have a certain basis to it, so they chose what they chose, and it just so happens to visualize something of RO. Either way, I like Fiesta the way it is, and considering its just BETA right now, I can see it getting better and better. ^_^

After playing this game, the only thing i can say is:
This LOOKS like RO, but it can't be compared to RO.
This game is completely different (maybe some little bit gameplay are like RO, but it's because is the same engine).

I am NOT saying this game is bad, it's a VERY GOOD game...
But i am RO Fan...So...^^U (after playing it 6 years...you get a bit addicted).

This game is probebly like many games in design and function, even some graphics will be similar, however, this game is different in many other ways.
I hope you get an invite and come see all the fun things we can do and wear in this closed beta.

If after experiancing the closed or open beta and your comments are still valid to you, I hope Outspark creates something in the future, you will enjoy.

The thing about mmo's is this : You've play one, you've played all of them. Their all basically the same in general. Just some nifty unique features.

ps: I know I shouldn't but This is something to debate: Tales of Pirates <> Pirates King online. And that is a Ripoff. IMO.not sure what you're going on about, but tales of pirates and pirates king online is the EXACT same game, they just undergo a different name. tales of pirates is the north american version while pirate king online is the singaporean/malaysian version~
just like how granado espada is the name of the korean/japanese/philippines/thai name while sword of the new world is the north american one. what this thread is saying
and what you're trying to compare on are two completely different things.
there's nothing to argue about here, on this subject~

on the other hand, RO and SoS are completely two different games, hosted by two different companies who aren't affliated with each other~

:confused: Other than the fact that Secret of Solstice resembles Ragnarok Online graphically, they seem like two different games to me. Although I haven't played SoS, I've seen a video that was posted on YouTube. The battle system looks like it works quite differently in SoS. It seemed to be focused almost entirely on skill usage. The combat also seemed a little bit faster paced; however, I might be mistaken as I haven't played Ragnarok Online in a long time.

:p I guess I'll be able to understand if they're more alike than I think they are when I actually get to play.

Gravity used this before in R.O.S.E online.
SoS does resemble ragnarok, but it can be a different game(haven't played it yet:p, and I'm looking forward to try the game)
