All right, hey there! This is Athemis, Chief Weaponry Offi-whaaat? *turns to other members of the Apoliner* Stop giving me that look.. -.-;; I like my Title...
Anyhow, this is a oneshot fanfic of what happened when Fury and I decided to hang out in the Apoline Server, the two uf us needed to get more accustomed to a foreign server. The following happens..
Athemis took a deep breath, enjoying the sweet scent of pine trees and wildflowers. She admired the tall mountains in the far distance, crowned by the several stars that dotted the horizon.
“Well, it’s not Bijou, but it’s nice,” She muttered. She pulled out her nubbish level 1 short bow, admiring the old familiar shape. It had been a long time since she was a newbie. It was different to be walking around in the basic yellow archer dress, instead of the glory of her green Elvin armor. She missed having her crossbow swinging on her back, ready to unleash deadly skills at her opponents, but she had agreed to come here with Fury. They both needed to get more accustomed to Apoline if they were going to be part of the cast; Kit had already finished the majority of her training-or as she called it, her plans for server domination.
Her whisphone started vibrating in her pocket. She pulled out her PurpTooth earphone and slipped it over her ear. “Hello?”
“Ath? It’s Fury. I’m over by Remi. Where are you?”
“I just came from the gate. Don’t worry, I’m coming.”
She took the upper pass of Roumen, passing the several NPCs along the way. Eventually she made her way down the stairs, and saw Remi off in the distance standing on her soapbox.
“I don’t see you Fury. Where are you?” She spoke through her whisphone, as she scanned the crowd for a fighter.
“I’m right here Ath.”
Athemis turned around. “Hey! Fury! …You’re a…”
Athemis looked him over, from the blue shirt and trousers, to the beginner mace in his hands. “You’re a cleric,” she said, surprised.
Fury looked at her blankly. “Yeah..”
“Oh.”
“What?”
“Nothing. I was just thinking that you’d be a fighter.”
“Why?”
Athemis shrugged. “Just because.”
“So, what?”
“Nothing.”
“Ok.”
“Huh?”
“What?”
“yeah?”
“huh?”
“what?”
“Never mind -.-” Fury answered. “What do you wanna do?” he asked.
Athemis shrugged, walking down the Plaza. “We should level...I wanna wear my pretty green armor instead of this simple plain dress.”
“Hey, are you guys from the Apoliner?? Oh wow! I can’t believe it!!”
Athemis and Fury turned around, confronted by a little cleric girl, who was rushing up to them as fast as she could run. “Can I have your autographs? :D”
A grin spread over Athemis’s face. “Of course!” she replied, taking the pen and notebook the girl was eagerly shoving into her hands.
“Ath…remember what Neo said…” Fury muttered, edging a bit away from the overly-ecstatic cleric.
“Hush Fury. Neo’s not here,” Athemis answered. She flipped open to a blank page, and signed her name and title. ‘Athemis: Chief Weaponry Officer of the Subspace Emissary’ and drew a little arrow at the bottom of her name. She handed the notebook and pen back to the cleric.
“This is so awesome!” The cleric hugged her notebook with joy. “Fury, can I have your autograph as well??”
“Uhh…I’m not signing anything today…” Fury muttered.
The cleric looked like she had been punched in the face. “What? Oh please??” she begged.
“Oh come on, Fury. Just give her one signature.” Athemis said. “Don’t be a kill joy.”
Fury gave Athemis a don’t-you-dare-make-me-give-out-another-autograph-because-my-hand-is-already-cramped-from-signing-autographs-to-begin-with look.
“Plzplzplzplzplzplzplz????” The cleric begged. She looked at Fury with deep sad eyes.
“Uhhh….”
“I love your part in the show!! Especially when you fearlessly disembarked the Black Blackness onto the Subspace Emissary, with Raz by your side, and you are ready to take on whatever the good guys throw at you! And the way how you fight is really amazing, I just-”
“Ath?” Fury gave a side glace to the archer. “Help me out here?”
“Hey now,” Athemis said, gently pulling off the cleric from Fury. “Heh, why don’t you…uh…”
“And the Apoliner is just really incredible!!”
“Did someone mention the Apoliner?”
Greatful for any kind of distraction, Fury turned around to see 2 guys, a fighter and a mage, both staring at him and Athemis.
“Hey, aren’t those two from the Apoliner?”
“Who, us?” Fury answered. “No no no, we’re just…”
“Hey everyone! Look! It’s Athemis and Fury from the Apoliner!”
A group of people standing around Chief Roumenous suddenly turned their heads toward the two celebrities’ direction. “Oh wow! Can I have you guy’s autographs?”
“OHSHI-!! See?!? Look what you started Ath!” Fury cried out, as the huge group of people started barreling down toward Athemis and Fury. In a split second, they were surrounded by fans. Fury defensively smacked down a pair of scissors that came extremely close to a lock of his hair.
Athemis rolled her eyes. “There is a very easy way out of this.” She answered, using the length of her short bow to block the flood of notebooks, pens, markers, quills, and a lipstick.
She pointed over to the Portal NPC. “HEY! ISN’T THAT LENORE??” she cried out over the chatter of the crowd.
“Huh? Where?” everyone turned to where she was pointing.
“Ok! Great!” Fury grabbed Athemis’s wrist and dragged her to the closest exit that was available: Roumen’s Free Battle Zone. Before the crowd realized the hoax, the two of them had safely warped into the arena and out of reach.
--
“I’m telling Neo what you did.” Fury muttered.
Athmis pouted. “Tattle tale…”
She turned her attention to the chaos that was inside. “Gosh, this is a bad idea. The two of us are sitting ducks,” she nervously watched a nearby fight of an archer and fighter. The archer girl fell to her knees with one last final sweep of the fighter’s axe, before he himself was pulverized by a magic burst from a nearby mage, before he was mercilessly sliced in half by a two-handed sword, where the wielder was then smashed with a piked mace.
“Well, I would rather be in here than out there.” Fury answered. “Let’s just stick it out in here until the group of fans outside disperses.”
“Oh fine. So what do we do? Except play hide and seek with the Pkers?” Athemis asked.
“Hey, wanna pvp while we wait?” Fury asked.
Athemis shrugged. “Yeah ok.”
“All right. Let’s go down to the bottom floor; there are usually a lot less people down there.”
“Oke,” Athemis answered. “It’s not too far of a walk.” They started to make their way down the street, making a wide circle around a cleric and archer who were fighting each other to the death.
“HAH! TWO EASY NOOBS HAVE LINED THEMSELVES UP FOR ME!!!!” An axe slashed through the backs of Fury and Athemis, the force too much for them to take. Fury fell to the ground with a smack, spread-eagled, as Athemis fell to her knees before she collapsed.
“Hahaha, noobs,” the fighter went off on his way, chuckling.
The two of them laid there, silent, until Athemis spoke up.
“…Or we could just warp there,” Athemis said.
“Yeah let’s do that.” Fury answered.
