All right, hey there! This is Athemis, Chief Weaponry Offi-whaaat? *turns to other members of the Apoliner* Stop giving me that look.. -.-;; I like my Title...

Anyhow, this is a oneshot fanfic of what happened when Fury and I decided to hang out in the Apoline Server, the two uf us needed to get more accustomed to a foreign server. The following happens..

Athemis took a deep breath, enjoying the sweet scent of pine trees and wildflowers. She admired the tall mountains in the far distance, crowned by the several stars that dotted the horizon.

“Well, it’s not Bijou, but it’s nice,” She muttered. She pulled out her nubbish level 1 short bow, admiring the old familiar shape. It had been a long time since she was a newbie. It was different to be walking around in the basic yellow archer dress, instead of the glory of her green Elvin armor. She missed having her crossbow swinging on her back, ready to unleash deadly skills at her opponents, but she had agreed to come here with Fury. They both needed to get more accustomed to Apoline if they were going to be part of the cast; Kit had already finished the majority of her training-or as she called it, her plans for server domination.

Her whisphone started vibrating in her pocket. She pulled out her PurpTooth earphone and slipped it over her ear. “Hello?”

“Ath? It’s Fury. I’m over by Remi. Where are you?”

“I just came from the gate. Don’t worry, I’m coming.”

She took the upper pass of Roumen, passing the several NPCs along the way. Eventually she made her way down the stairs, and saw Remi off in the distance standing on her soapbox.

“I don’t see you Fury. Where are you?” She spoke through her whisphone, as she scanned the crowd for a fighter.

“I’m right here Ath.”

Athemis turned around. “Hey! Fury! …You’re a…”

Athemis looked him over, from the blue shirt and trousers, to the beginner mace in his hands. “You’re a cleric,” she said, surprised.

Fury looked at her blankly. “Yeah..”

“Oh.”

“What?”

“Nothing. I was just thinking that you’d be a fighter.”

“Why?”

Athemis shrugged. “Just because.”

“So, what?”

“Nothing.”

“Ok.”

“Huh?”

“What?”

“yeah?”

“huh?”

“what?”

“Never mind -.-” Fury answered. “What do you wanna do?” he asked.

Athemis shrugged, walking down the Plaza. “We should level...I wanna wear my pretty green armor instead of this simple plain dress.”

“Hey, are you guys from the Apoliner?? Oh wow! I can’t believe it!!”

Athemis and Fury turned around, confronted by a little cleric girl, who was rushing up to them as fast as she could run. “Can I have your autographs? :D”

A grin spread over Athemis’s face. “Of course!” she replied, taking the pen and notebook the girl was eagerly shoving into her hands.

“Ath…remember what Neo said…” Fury muttered, edging a bit away from the overly-ecstatic cleric.

“Hush Fury. Neo’s not here,” Athemis answered. She flipped open to a blank page, and signed her name and title. ‘Athemis: Chief Weaponry Officer of the Subspace Emissary’ and drew a little arrow at the bottom of her name. She handed the notebook and pen back to the cleric.

“This is so awesome!” The cleric hugged her notebook with joy. “Fury, can I have your autograph as well??”

“Uhh…I’m not signing anything today…” Fury muttered.

The cleric looked like she had been punched in the face. “What? Oh please??” she begged.

“Oh come on, Fury. Just give her one signature.” Athemis said. “Don’t be a kill joy.”

Fury gave Athemis a don’t-you-dare-make-me-give-out-another-autograph-because-my-hand-is-already-cramped-from-signing-autographs-to-begin-with look.

“Plzplzplzplzplzplzplz????” The cleric begged. She looked at Fury with deep sad eyes.

“Uhhh….”

“I love your part in the show!! Especially when you fearlessly disembarked the Black Blackness onto the Subspace Emissary, with Raz by your side, and you are ready to take on whatever the good guys throw at you! And the way how you fight is really amazing, I just-”

“Ath?” Fury gave a side glace to the archer. “Help me out here?”

“Hey now,” Athemis said, gently pulling off the cleric from Fury. “Heh, why don’t you…uh…”

“And the Apoliner is just really incredible!!”

“Did someone mention the Apoliner?”

Greatful for any kind of distraction, Fury turned around to see 2 guys, a fighter and a mage, both staring at him and Athemis.

“Hey, aren’t those two from the Apoliner?”

“Who, us?” Fury answered. “No no no, we’re just…”

“Hey everyone! Look! It’s Athemis and Fury from the Apoliner!”

A group of people standing around Chief Roumenous suddenly turned their heads toward the two celebrities’ direction. “Oh wow! Can I have you guy’s autographs?”

“OHSHI-!! See?!? Look what you started Ath!” Fury cried out, as the huge group of people started barreling down toward Athemis and Fury. In a split second, they were surrounded by fans. Fury defensively smacked down a pair of scissors that came extremely close to a lock of his hair.

Athemis rolled her eyes. “There is a very easy way out of this.” She answered, using the length of her short bow to block the flood of notebooks, pens, markers, quills, and a lipstick.

She pointed over to the Portal NPC. “HEY! ISN’T THAT LENORE??” she cried out over the chatter of the crowd.

“Huh? Where?” everyone turned to where she was pointing.

“Ok! Great!” Fury grabbed Athemis’s wrist and dragged her to the closest exit that was available: Roumen’s Free Battle Zone. Before the crowd realized the hoax, the two of them had safely warped into the arena and out of reach.

--

“I’m telling Neo what you did.” Fury muttered.

Athmis pouted. “Tattle tale…”

She turned her attention to the chaos that was inside. “Gosh, this is a bad idea. The two of us are sitting ducks,” she nervously watched a nearby fight of an archer and fighter. The archer girl fell to her knees with one last final sweep of the fighter’s axe, before he himself was pulverized by a magic burst from a nearby mage, before he was mercilessly sliced in half by a two-handed sword, where the wielder was then smashed with a piked mace.

“Well, I would rather be in here than out there.” Fury answered. “Let’s just stick it out in here until the group of fans outside disperses.”

“Oh fine. So what do we do? Except play hide and seek with the Pkers?” Athemis asked.

“Hey, wanna pvp while we wait?” Fury asked.

Athemis shrugged. “Yeah ok.”

“All right. Let’s go down to the bottom floor; there are usually a lot less people down there.”

“Oke,” Athemis answered. “It’s not too far of a walk.” They started to make their way down the street, making a wide circle around a cleric and archer who were fighting each other to the death.

“HAH! TWO EASY NOOBS HAVE LINED THEMSELVES UP FOR ME!!!!” An axe slashed through the backs of Fury and Athemis, the force too much for them to take. Fury fell to the ground with a smack, spread-eagled, as Athemis fell to her knees before she collapsed.

“Hahaha, noobs,” the fighter went off on his way, chuckling.

The two of them laid there, silent, until Athemis spoke up.

“…Or we could just warp there,” Athemis said.

“Yeah let’s do that.” Fury answered.

Athemis leaped down the last few steps in the flight of stairs, before she finally rested in the middle of the room, and shroomed. Fury came along behind her, and shroomed a few feet away.

“Ok, once we regain our health, it’s PVP! No backing down.” Fury answered.

“Ok”

“We keep fighting.”

“Ok”

“If you gotta shroom, you gotta stay away from me,”

“Ok…”

“No holding back,”

“All right…”

“And no mercy.”

“I fight with valiant honor.” Athemis replied. (A little pun there for my academy ;))

“All right!”

Fury leaped out of his shroom and charged at Athemis, mace held high. Athemis quickly exited her shroom and launched a power shot.

She pulled back on her bow, releasing as many arrows as she could while she waited for the power shot to recharge. Fury swung his mace, sometimes raising it up to the sky to shower himself in light to regain his health.

Athemis launched another power shot, taking Fury off guard. He slipped up, fumbling to heal himself, but Athemis nailed him with one last arrow. He fell to the ground.

“I win,” Athemis said with a smile. “Care to try again?”

“Heh, you got lucky.”

“Noooo, it’s skill, not luck.”

She sat down next to his dead body. “I’m posting this in the Chatroom. Haha, this is classic~”

“All right, but I’m not gonna go easy on you the second time around!”

“Bring it on!” She said, as he warped to another part of the map. She smirked, and returned to her shroom while she waited for Fury.

She didn’t have to wait long. Fury came running down the stairs, mace held high. Athemis leaped out of her shroom again, and launced another powershot, before she pinned more arrows at Fury. He had already taken up a fair amount of hits before he even got close to her.

He slammed the head of his mace against her shoulder, and kicked her down. Athemis pointed the bow at his chest, and released another charged arrow. It plummeted into his chest, taking him aback. She took that advantage and kicked him in the shin, but he leaped forth and slammed the mace down, aiming for her head. She rolled out of the way, and the mace buried itself into the ground. She aimed and fired another arrow, scrambling up to put more distance between herself and him.

“Darn, wish I had my kiting skills,” Athemis muttered, firing more arrows at Fury. He glittered a blue-ish color for a minute before he raised his mace high and healed himself of his wounds. He charged at Athemis again, landing a solid hit on her forehead. She reeled around, and saw the mace coming at her again. She ducked out of the way, and unleased another arrow at Fury.

She dug her hand into her pocket and absorbed a red stone, and her clothes glittered with a reddish hue for a split second. Then she raised her bow directly at Fury, and unleased another power shot. The arrow ripped through the cloth of his beginner’s uniform. Finally he buckled over and collapsed to the ground.

“Woot~” Athemis replied, pushing a loose strand of hair behind her pointy ears. “I win again.”

“WTH?? o.o”

“Come on, Fury~” She teased. “Give me a challenge. I’m posting this screenie in the chatroom as well.”

Fury disappeared. Athemis shroomed again, impatiently waiting for her health to regain. After it was full, she slipped behind the wall, and peeked around the corner.

Fury came down the stairs again, scanning his surroundings for the archer in a yellow dress. “Power Shot!” he whipped to the source of the voice, and was slammed with an energy-induced arrow. He stepped back in shock, only to be slammed with an onslaught of more arrows. He ran forward to where Athemis was hiding, trying to launch an attack. Athemis kept shooting off the arrows.

He quickly raised his mace and healed himself again: Athemis used that chance to run off a far distance and fire more arrows at him. He ran up to her, but the minute he was close enough to attack, he had to heal himself again. While he was busy doing that, she ran off to put more distance between him and her. She released more arrows, as he hopelessly ran up to her in the attempt to attack. She released another powershot, and he dropped dead.

“I win again!” Athemis answered, sitting down next to his dead body. “You getting tired now?”

He didn’t answer and warped off again, leaving Athemis by herself. Her whisphone started to vibrate.

“Yeah?” she asked, receiving the call through her PurpTooth.

“All right Athemis that’s it! I’m getting out my mage.”

Athemis stopped. “…Why? What level is your mage?”

“Hehehe. You’ll see. Just stay right there.” He hung up.

She paused, not knowing what she had gotten herself into. “Oh right, like heck I’m staying here,” she said, scrambling to her feet. She leaped up the stairs by twos and threes. “I gotta hide.”

She slipped into a back alley and behind one of the houses. Peering around one of the corners, she caught a glimpse of a fully armored mage running pass where she was hiding. Decked in the glory of deep dark blue mage robes and an enhanced staff in his hand, it wasn’t hard to figure out who the winner would be if she fought him. “Fury you cheater,” she breathed. “No way in Isya can I in this state stand up to someone eight levels above me!!”

His voice spoke through her Purptooth again. “Hey, Ath. Where are you? Hehehe.”

“Like I’m telling you,” she replied, hanging up on him. She waited a few minutes before she assumed it was safe to make a run for the exit. Very quietly she peeked out of the side of wall, scanning her surroundings and calculating the best chance for escape.

“Hah! Found you!” Fury launched a ball of fire at Athemis, which seared through her yellow dress. She hopelessly fell to the ground.

“Pwn :D”

“Q_Q”

She warped out before he had the chance to mock me anymore. Once she respawned, she knew she was in serious trouble. Fury wasn’t gonna give any mercy in his fights.

Quickly she restoned, and ducked behind a wall. When she saw Fury in sight, she released a power shot at him, but it didn’t even nick his robes. He launched a fireball and pulse shot, and Athemis was defeated again.

“Haha..getting tired Ath?”

“You meanie!!”

She warped and respawned again. “I gotta get out of here,” she muttered, as she sped up the stairs to the third floor. She didn’t even bother to stop to heal herself. A pulse shot ripped through the air, and slammed into her back. “Haha! I got you again Athemis!”

This isn’t gonna work… Athemis thought desperately as she fell to the ground. Ok, I gotta move to Plan B.

She warped and respawned again. She stood where she was, until she saw Fury in the distance. She then took off for the portal NPC in a bolt. Her eyes scanned her surroundings, passing several other players who didn’t bat an eye at a level 5 archer. Not too far from the portal NPC were a group of high leveled players, just sitting around chatting. She rushed up to the first one there: a high leveled mage.

“Hey, can you do me a favor please?” Athemis asked them, out of breath.

The mage was leaning against the wall, and was slightly startled to be confronted by this archer. “What’s the favor?” he asked.

“HAH!! FOUND YOU ATHEMIS!!!” An electric ball of energy crackled in the air as he launched it at her. The magic jolted through her, and she buckled down to her knees before falling down dead.

The mage just stared at the spectacle that just took place. Laying dead, Athemis answered, “Can you kill him?”

The mage turned his gaze back at Fury, and chuckled. Fury stood rooted to his spot, realizing what just happened. He guiltily clutched his staff, which was still crackling with magic. He smiled weakly.

“Oh Teva…” Fury muttered.

“That wasn’t very nice,” the mage said. He raised his hand up into the sky, and pillars of ice formed above Fury’s head. Fury’s eyes widened in fear. “Nononononono!!!”

He attempted to dive out of the way, but the pillars of ice slammed down on him with such force the arena shook. When the ice shards disappeared, all what was left was the broken and battered bruised body of a dead mage.

Fury warped off. The high leveled mage ran down the road, ready to hunt him down. “Come on guys,” he called back to his friends. “We gotta get these PKers while they are still low leveled.”

“Right on!” the Fighter exclaimed, running off to catch up with the mage. The cleric quickly revived Athemis and buffed her before running off with her friends.

“Revenge is sooo sweet…” Athemis giggled, climbing up to one of the roofs of the houses to watch the show. Down on the second level, she saw Fury dodge the smash of a hammer only to sidestep into an Inferno.

Fury warped and respawned, but the minute his idle buff left his side, he was mercilessly annihilated by the higher levels- again and again and again.

“Hey guys!” the mage called out to a group of other players. “We got a PKer here picking on some poor little archer! Help us take him down!”

Another fighter with a sword, an archer with a crossbow, and a second cleric all joined in.

“Not good not good..” Fury was hiding behind the staircase, trying to make himself as invisible as possible. “Hey guys!!” Athemis called out from her vantage point. “He’s over there!!”

“Not cool Ath!! Not cool!!” Fury yelled at her, trapped like a rat.

Athemis was laughing so hard tears were streaming from her eyes. Down below, Fury had respawned again, and was running away from the PKKers as fast as he could run. He yanked out his whisphone, calling up Athemis.

“Hello!?”

“Yes Fury?”

“Help me!!”

“A noob like me help you? Yeah right.”

“o.o Come on ATH!!!”

Fury looked up to see the axe wielding fighter standing right in front of him. She raised her axe and brought it slicing down, cleaving him in half.

“O.O;;; OHSHI-”

Athemis grimaced. “Uh, that must have hurt…”

After a few more bouts with Fury, the high leveled mage put his hand up to stop his friends. “Ok guys, I think he’s had enough.”

Fury was laying on his back, with his robes torn everywhere. A scrape on his head was allowing a bit of blood to trickle out. The fighter with a sword poked his chest with the tip of her sword. “All right mage. Up.”

The cleric and other fighter pulled him to his feet and held his arms behind his back, making him walk back up to the third floor. The mage took the lead, and the archer kept her crossbow pointed to Fury’s head. The other cleric and fighter brought up the rear. Athemis climbed off the roof of the house, and watched the procession. “All right,” the high leveled mage said. “I think you owe her an apology..”

“>.< I’m sorry Ath..” Fury replied.

Athemis crossed her arms. “You killed me..”

“Well I got killed.”

“You still killed me!”

“Well you killed me!”

The PKKers started at Fury, and then at Athemis. “She killed you?”

“Yeah…?”

“I can’t kill him,” Athemis interjected. “He’s at least eight levels above me!”

“Well that would be hilarious if she actually killed you,” the fighter answered. “Hah. You should have been a fighter.”

Fury glared at her, not saying anything.

“Well,” the mage said, “He apologized. Do you accept his apology?”

“But…” Athemis mused. “He did kill me a lot of times…”

The archer nodded at Fury. “If she’s not satisfied she must have been spam killed a lot. Come on, let’s take this guy to the back alleys and finish up. It’s too much for a little archer to watch.”

“What? Hey, no!! Ath! Don’t let them do this to me!!” he cried out, as the fighter and cleric dragged him off. “ATH!!!”

She waited five seconds, watching him kick and squirm, before she responded. “Oh, all right. I guess he suffered enough.” Athemis answered. “You can let him go.”

Simultaneously, his captives let him go. Fury tore himself away from the high levels, wanting to get himself out of their target range as soon as possible.

The high leveled mage smiled. “All right you two, get out of here. Athemis, this place is deadly, I suggest you don’t come back here until you can hold your own. And Fury, if I ever see you again…”

Fury gulped. “Yeah. I got it…”

“All right you two. Haha. Go outside.”

“Fury and Athemis…” the cleric muttered, as she watched the two players warp out. “I could have sworn I heard their name before somewhere…”

“The Apoliner?” the fighter asked.

The cleric thought for a minute. “Nah..what’s the likely hood that we would run into two local celebrities?”
--
Once they were outside of the Arena, Athemis was desperately trying to suppress a giggle. Finally she collapsed in hysteria of laughter. She was rolling on the floor laughing, literally.

“Being cute has its advantages,” Athemis replied with a smirk. “Oh Bijou, that was funny…”

“I’m telling Neo what you did.” Fury muttered. “That was so mean T_T”

“No need.” She replied. “I’m writing this up in a fanfic. XD This is too funny to pass up.”

Go ahead, and post away. ^^;

Athemis and Fury turned around, confronted by a little cleric girl, who was rushing up to them as fast as she could run. “Can I have your autographs? :D”

I was wondering if that only happened to me... When I just started my cleric on Apoline I was wandering around Roumen when some guy called to me and the conversation went sorta like this:

Guy: Hey Kitone!
Me: *being polite* Hey...
Guy: I think you're awesome...
*awkward pause*
Me: Do I or should I know you?
Guy: No, not really... I read the Apoliner story.
Me: oh okay...
*awkward pause*
Guy: *in whisper* Do you want a bf?
Me: uhh... *scrolls to elde and hid behind the blacksmith*

Yep... Fans... some of them are borderline creepy...

“Hah! Found you!” Fury launched a ball of ice at Athemis, which seared through her yellow dress. She hopelessly fell to the ground.

Wait a sec... Did the ice make your clothes burn?
