I love the idea of how one must be lvl 6 to us the shout function but how many of you agree with me when i say it should be at lvl 30 as to stop shout chat from gold spammers. I mean if they take the time to lvl up to 30 just to spam then they deserve to do it lolz *sarcasm for those that cant take jokes*
ok hows about lvl 20 being the shout lvl since 30 is a lil high lolz

I got one word /ignore. In my opinion they should just give you the ability to ignore whomever you want instead of limiting who you can see by level.
Main thing I am waiting for the patch for is Treasure Chest guaranteed to give you something.

I think higher then 6 is a good idea but maybe lvl 30 is a bit to high.

yes agree an ignore option would be soooo good as for the chest tho....jus means we're gonna get more pots and elrue T_T b
is lvl 20 a fair enough lvl? (since we do get our class change there)

Especially when you participate in a gruelling, no teamworking KQ and barely sqeak by with your last life, only to not get anything from it...

I'm more interrested in seeing the other anti spammer feature. The lvl restriction is just a little slow down for them. Reaching lvl 20 is fairly easy, but having a lvl limit too high will hurt the player base more than anything else.

Be lucky i didnt say lvl 50 lol. Ive played games where you must be lvl 50 to shout and shout cost 10k per shout. It never hurt the player base it actually made it better and people wanted to reach 50 for the perks lol and lower lvls would usually jus ask a higher lvl to shout for them. But the lvling in this game is diff so is the economy <--way outa whack . So i chose lvl 30 but then revised that to 20 seeing as how we get our first job change at that lvl and now that I look at it its actually more suitable.

The whole chat thing needs work. i would suggest modeling it on WoW's chat seeing as WoW has one of the best chats i've ever used.
Definitly need /ignore in a patch.

I disagree with the idea of limiting shout at all. Way back in my days of playing MUDs they had a game called Nightmare...If you played MUDs back in the day chances are you played it. The chat system on Nightmare always seemed to be awesome to me. If you were a noob you could shout...on the noob channel. This made it easy for new players to get help from older players tuned to that channel and from each other. But the 'public' shout channel for all other players was off limits to those who did not meet the level requirements. This solves two problems, first that new players still can ask for help with some sort of global shout system, and second cuts back on the other players having to hear shouts from new players that annoy the heck out of them. They also had another great innovation, the inclusion of multi colored 'friends' channels. You could assign a person using a command similar to this: 'c/red nameofperson'. This way if you want all your friends in red and all your guild members in green you could assign them that way yourself and have a nice way to tell the difference on the chat screen. And another neat feature was that some channels not only were different colors, like how whispers appear purple on fiesta, but they would have a title before the text. Example: <Public> so and so says this. or <Newbie> WHERE DO I GO TO GET MY HORSE TO MOVE!!!. To turn a channel off you simply typed c/nameofchannel off. I don't know how hard it would be to code a chat thats so different then the one we have now, but if they could do it on a text based mud in 1995 I'm sure they could do it now :p

I believe putting a level requirment to use "shout" is no solution. They will simply invade the "general chat" instead of "shout".

I cant wait to finally start getting things from KQ, went through 3 today and didn’t get a single thing and the no shout till lvl 6 I believe will probably hopefully make a improvement on the spamming issue

I think lvl20 would be much better. 30 is too high and lvl6 for gold bots is like blinking for us.
they plaster your name on the screen for 20, you can become you next class boot, and get shout.... sounds rad to me.

They can put all the level limits on shout they want, its not going to stop the gold spammers. The gold spammers have already moved to regular chat. An ignore feature is what we need.

And when you're ignore list will be full (like 3 or 5 days later), what will you do ?

The level restriction isn't their only plan of attack to the spammers. It's just one thing they are doing, the rest they won't be saying so the programmers don't get around the other restrictions as well.
Words from Steams mouth.
And I think the chat limit should be nothing. I would never pay to shout - I would never want to be level 50 to shout.
Reaching level 30 in this game is already very hard, mind you I'm almost 40. That makes none the difference though. Honestly, this hardly bothers me anymore though. Ever since I moved to Uruga, the shout is clean and everything is fresh. Once you hit your late 30's, spammers are your past.
Until they start getting to Uruga at least...

I agree with Nerria, who wants to 'pay' to shout? And level 30? Kinda kills the whole idea of chatting with people in the game in the first place. I think shouts should exist at even the low levels, because new players need ways to ask for help...we were all new once remember? Ignore lists are a great solution for that jerk who is spamming his annoying comments, but not so great for blocking the ever changing mob of gold spammers. One solution that would be fairly easy is to give shout its own tab. That way if you want to hear it you can, if you just want to hear local comments you can, but you don't have to shut off both just to get rid of the gold spammers. Also....I still like my idea about having a new player chat that we can turn on or off that your restricted to untill a certain level then outright barring people of low levels from shouting. It would solve all the problems of gold spammers while still allowing new players to have a shout they can use to help each other out.

I think they should do it for level 20+
level 6 it's too low.. 10 min and i can level to it.
level 20 is harder and take more then week so it will stop it..
