As most people realize, as you progressively gain levels, at some point, the monster's experience becomes less and less for each kill.

I did an experiment with a lower-leveled character of mine against a Bryant Ball (Level 13 at the time), and upon killing it, received a modest 128 experience (No Mentor on)

At the same time, on my level 16, I was getting around 226 experience (Also without a mentor) for each kill.

If I remember, the name of the monster was Blue on my 16, but Red on my 13.

I believe that has something to do with the experience received for each kill, but I'm really not sure. Does anyone have some sort of info or guide on the color system?

It would be appreciated. Thanks for your time in reading this.

Blue named monsters are close to your level (within 2 levels of you, I believe). Red name means it is 3 or more levels higher, yellow name means 3 or more levels lower.

Monsters are worth the most exp if they are blue named to you. You get progressively lower exp as the level difference between you and the monster increases (both ways). Any quests you get will also be for blue named monsters. These are the ones the game encourages you to fight.

It is generally never worth it to fight red named monsters, they are harder to kill and give less exp. Generally speaking, you want to fight blue named ones, or ones that just turned yellow a level or two ago (still decent exp, and faster kills).

Thank you, Thasmudyan.

I was surprised that in all of the guides I had a look at, none of them explained this. It's very useful information, and now I have a much better idea of what to hunt. Thank you. <3
