Fix the filter

This has been bugging me for a bit now but the other day was the final straw.
I saw a guy named Dr.Feelgood in Essene. Dr. Feelgood was a song by Motley Crue. :cool: So I type in Motley Crue. Then I type in the names of the members. The members are Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, and Tommy Lee. I hit enter. What do i get? A message warning me not to use foul language. :confused:
I type in the names again thinking i must have hit the wrong letter somehow. Nope. I typed in the right names with the correct spellings.
I do it again and guess what the fou,l filthy, dirty word is.

You have got to be kidding me. I cant type in Mick in sos without getting that dreaded "you're a potty mouth" warning?

What alternate meanings does Mick have? As far as i know, Mick is someone's first name. I told my party members that the next day and they all cracked up. They even tried typing it and laughed that it was excluded.

Sad part is that i can say *** 10 million times and it gets through. I can't say butt though. Butt gets a red flag but i can say kiss my *** or i am going to kick your *** in the game. That makes no sense.

I'm not trying to be vulgar but i want to show you how very flawed the filter is. I have seen people run around in the game with some very unwise names like Little hoe. I used to see her in essene's hotel every morning with a shop set up. Her signs either said "help a hoe out" or "hoe sale".

SOS can have a little hoe in the hotel selling her um wares but I can't say Mick? :rolleyes:

Yes, I do agree that the word filter is a bit skewed. But it's been improved a lot over the time the game has been in. 'Course, there are those words that still get left out (like the one you mentioned). RubixCuban has been showing up quite a bit lately here. Perhaps he'll pass word down to the dev team. ^^

You should see the filters in ProPow and Windslayer, they're even worse! They go so far as to hack off the middle of words xD

Well I agree the filter needs some major work. Most people seemed to have figured a way around it to judge by some of the things I've seen in open talk and in shouts. The problem with mick might have something to do with the fact that it was used as derogatory term for someone from ireland for a long time.

While I agree totally about the filters.. they are really messed up... I can explain why Mick is on the forbidden list. While it is just a name in the States, in some other countries it is a very derogatory term. Having a global game makes it difficult to have good filters. I mean... in the States shag is a kind of carpet. And something totally different in England.
