There are two types of gathering skills in windslayer, first we have Mining and second is Herbalist. You get them both early in the game, you gain them both through quests in Popola when you reach level 3 & 4. If you missed the quests and cant do them because you're to high lvl, well then you can buy them expensive from a guy named Duinuke in Amakusa, all the novice skills can be bought from him at a high price of 3000gold and 100WSP.

So now when you have the required skill to start gathering, then you need to get allot of shovels. Yes I said shovels, as in more then one. most game use a pickax to hit a rock, but windslayer have shovels that breaks every time you hit a rock, so you need allot of em. You can buy the shovels from two ppl, first you have Groser Shaori who have a shop in every town, and second you have the Shovel Frog who stands next to the portal inside the mines and farms.

The price is the same on both of em, so there is no point buying shovels from Shaori as the frog stands right where you're going to use them.

You can access the Herb farm from three towns, and the entrance looks like in the pic above. There are four kinds of garden shovels but for now we only have two kinds of gathering resource in the farm.

20 Gold - Level 03 - Crude Garden Shovel
50 Gold - Level 26 - Garden Shovel
70 Gold - Level 56 - Durable Garden Shovel
100Gold - Level 86 - Exceptional Garden Shovel

The common herb is the lowest plant where players with level 3 or higher can farm from, and it requires a Crude Garden Shovel. And the other one is that imperial herb, where you need to be level 26 or higher to farm from, and it requires a Garden Shovel. Heres a little drop rate form I made from all my farming.

25 Gold - Level 04 - Crude Shovel
60 Gold - Level 26 - Shovel
100Gold - Level 56 - Durable Shovel
200Gold - Level 86 - Exeptional Shovel

The Common Mineral V is the lowest plant where players with level 4 or higher can farm from, and it requires a Crude Shovel. And the other one is that Imperial Mineral, where you need to be level 26 or higher to farm from, and it requires a Shovel. Heres a little drop rate form I made from all my farming.

Heres a map I made a while back, to make it easier to see the fastest way around towns. Learn this circle and you wont have any trouble find you're way around.

I just have a question, can you get higher skills in herb/minning?

nope, not what I know of, but it is indeed weird that it says level1 on the skill.

I also forgot to add that the higher level shovel on a smaller mineral doesn't affect the drop rate, it would be nice if one shovel would last 2 times then or something

So since there's higher lvl shovels, I'm guessing there's gonna be higher lvl things to farm later on and they just haven't been added yet?

correct, I would guess there are some mines out in the field as well, I think ive seen some on the minimaps, and you also have a closed mine in the current mines, you can see it in the middle of the map at the bottom.

Yep. The Mining Area B2 will probably be released when they open the next maps up for a couple of reasons.

1) People will quickly get high enough to use the 3rd level of mining after the new maps are released
2) In the second floor of the mining area, (The closed mining area you see in the first floor) there's a portal to get to Serien Cave. Same goes for the Herb Farm and Underwater City)

So if they release all the maps they had in CB with this next update coming up soon, everything up till Underwater City will be open. If that's the case it would be kinda pointless not to let people mine items they need to forge their equipment.

Anyway, nice guide. I'll probably refer back to this a few times when I'm mining so I can see what to mine and how long I should prepare to wait :p

imo it would be wrong to release the new mines as the players are around 35 and the shovels are at 56. The exceptions are the players who abuse the mentor system and can get to lvl56 a long time before anyone else. So it would be unfair, well its already unfair as they can gain better composing skills. But be able to mine a lvl56 mine would make them ridiculous rich as the elestone medium probably will drop at a 25% rate.
