So i just started the game today and made a preist... level 14 now. So i went to the pvp arena and had some fun then a rogue decided to complain about "spamming"... Now to me, spamming is constantly casting no matter what. I however cast when i see the dash figures (They still show up on rogues in hide)... Is the whole community this whiny?
I just don't think i can handle the general immaturity and horrible sportsmanship. I got called a n00b about 12 times a match because i used self heal and kept my mage teammates alive. And everytime this one guy died he would yell spammer n00b, or something similar. Do people just really hate to lose to a Priest? Or are they like that with every class?
It's just aggravating that people can't accept that sometimes people just handle themselves better or are just plain lucky.
P.s. Ironic how the "assassin" class loses to the healers :D
P.p.s. He had 2 archers on his team at one point... Priest can "Spam" every 4 seconds, Archers are always firing... Oh the bias' of mankind (Or 7 year old boy kind in this case ;))
P.p.p.s. Also any higher up dark priests out there? I want to know your in battle strategy with the 30+ spells.

Ya, pretty much. This game attracts a younger crowd that thinks that any time they lose it's because their team was bad or their opponents used "cheap" tricks. Just about every class gets labeled a spammer.

2nd classes aren't out yet. GM rider told me they're coming out next week. As I understand, some of the 2nd class quests require the Balderan Mining area, which hasn't been released yet.

It is not ironic that an Assassin loses to a healer. I found that healers in WindSlayer have some strong attacks (with the right build of course). If I'm correct, healer's damage is the second highest (Mage's damage is first). If you are skilled in pvp with your priest, I wouldn't be surprised that you can beat some assassins.
Spamming, in my opinion, requires some skills. Not only you need to choose the "right time" to spam, you also need to consider cooldown. We, healers, like mages, are cursed with slow casting speed and short range. Just reckless spamming WILL NOT work in pvp. Therefore, I think spamming is not noobish. I actually envy people who spam successfully at the right time and beat their opponents and wish that I had that kind of skill too. I do try to spam, but often I miss and those fast attacking rogues get me first. It is hard.
Healing is one of our jobs, healing our teammates in PvP is perfectly acceptable. Just be careful though, since our MP is limited just like HP. If we run out of MP, then we will be quite vulnerable.

Yeah i suppose you are right. Anyway, Day 2 of this game and it is growing on me. Its fun and easy to level and PvP is for the most part enjoyable and rewarding. I needed to find a light and fun game to play on a weaker comp while my laptop is getting fixed. And it seems i found one that will tide me over and maybe even get some action after i get my laptop back.
And since people are responding knowledgeably, any tips on a) where to level (18 as i type) b) Good strategies in team matches (Especially 1v1's, those seem to be my weak point.)
At the moment all i do if it comes down to me v. someone else is hold block, holy lightning, earth strike, and repeat. And frankly it has a low success rate. When there are multiple opponents i try to stay behind a couple of my guys and through in some smiting magic once in a while as well as the occasional heal... I don't like having more Downs then K.O.s but more often then not it turns into a 3 person chase scene on me :( So if anyone has suggestions on how to handle that...
Also about the 2nd classes... Dang -_- i was looking forward to being all evil priest and stuff...

Level wherever the quests send you. If you need quests, go to Avatar>Quests>Available.
b) Good strategies in team matches (Especially 1v1's, those seem to be my weak point.)
Against casters and archers you want to try to always be in the air if you're approaching them on level ground. If you're lucky they'll miss a cast or arrow and you'll be able to drop down and grab them, then give them a holy strike to the face. If the teams are congregating into two large groups, then you might try running to the back of the enemy team to drop down and get a holy strike off before running away.
In 1v1s, you want to be conservative in your casting. Casting at the wrong time means you'll most certainly get punished for it. The times when you want to cast are either when you're far enough from your target that you don't think they can get to you in time, or if they've just missed a strong attack/spell. Generally you either want to hit them with a holy strike as they move towards you from offscreen, after they sit still too long for whatever reason, or if you can time the holy strike to hit them just as they land from a jump or get out of their invincibility time.
At the moment all i do if it comes down to me v. someone else is hold block, holy lightning, earth strike, and repeat. And frankly it has a low success rate. When there are multiple opponents i try to stay behind a couple of my guys and through in some smiting magic once in a while as well as the occasional heal... Block isn't going to save you from much damage. It will let you react immediately after getting hit, but you usually have to walk up and grab the other person first to pull off a counter-attack.
Like I said before, playing a priest is all about finding someone who's in a vulnerable situation and can't counterattack you. All the other time you're not casting you should be dashing and jumping away from potential threats. Guard only when you can't avoid a shot any other way, as it's possible to be hit by multiple shots while guarding, which means it's sometimes better to accept the hit in exchange for the invincibility time.
If you're being chased by 3 people, then run away. You give your team an advantage by doing so, since you're occupying multiple enemies, which means the rest of the enemy team is outnumbered.
Also about the 2nd classes... Dang -_- i was looking forward to being all evil priest and stuff...
GM rider told me 2nd classes are coming out next week, so it's good.

Well if it's 1v1 against a priest and the priest would heal every second of the fight then that's sort of unfair for some classes.....not like i care or anything lols
P.S. not all rogues loses to priests unless there's a mage with the priest who could use ice and its 2v1 then it would be hard

Life's really tough as a priest 1v1. I think against EQUAL skilled opponents, who know how to block, etc, we have a 50/50 chance to win, at most.
The most annoying thing for me as a priest is that when we GRAB someone, they have time to BLOCK our spell every time. This then leaves us open to a big combo or big dmg move by them. Seeing that GRAB is our most effective way of actually hitting someone with our spells, I kinda feel this leaves us handicapped. We do have self heal, though, so trading blows isn't necessarily a terrible thing for us, so that's why I give us a 50/50.
Oh, and a really good archer owns me every time. They'll hardly ever touch the ground, and when they do, you're usually stunned from the jump shot, lol. There's lots of newbie archers out there and they're pretty easy to take out, but the GOOD ones? No chance!

I've found that in a 1v1 battle, it's good to wait for the enemy to jump and try to time your spells so they they'll hit them just before they land. This gives them no chance to dodge your attack. Make sure you watch to make sure they already used their double jump so they don't fake you out and hop over the spell and get you.
Also, Don't be afraid to throw some battle priest tactics in to your strategy. I've noticed that, if you play it well, you can take a lot of damage from chasing an opponent down and hitting them with a weak attack from your wand every chance you get.
Anyway, as ziiiv said, 2nd class should come out next week. I've heared the 18th a few times but I'm not sure so don't take my word for it ;)

It is quite amusing how these things happens. People would be called "Noob" no matter what. And clearly those people are bad losers, just be happy they havent played with your manner points. Be patient with those people, and ignore those comments.

I think my best strategy right now is to just forget about grabbing smart opponents at all. If they're smart, they'll block you, then hit you with a fireball in the face, or a fire kick, or freezing combo if they can do that. Grab just does not work good against good opponents because our spells cast too slow, they can block 100% of the time.
Instead i have to just try to dodge their attacks or block their attacks then cast something without grabbing first. This can be really annoying too, because lots of times me and my opponent will just end up jumping around, dashing around, trying to small attack eachother because neither person wants to miss with a skill or a strong attack, lol. Jump jump s jump s dash s jump s dash s! That's what my fights turn into lol

Well to be honest i find myself only using weak attacks for any sort of one on one. If it is truly one on one, i even cast mana shield.
a) Cast time is too slow to get your higher hits in.
b) Mana shield reduces damage you receive (by a small %)
c) the last thing i want to worry about is spamming heal self in a single target match.
To be honest I don't think priests are made for decent 1v1'ing. We are a support+nuke class. We can dish out damage well and heal teammates, if we had instant casts people would complain about being "Overpowered."
Another thing: Thornbush is the most lethal skill we have if you can place them right. If there is a guy with red health in the middle of a group, thornbush him. Easy kill. Archers despise thornbush. Jump on top of them and cast in the direction they dash. Opens them for a mage combo, or a sweet action holy hit. Also just to make warriors feel bad... hit them with the skill, walk away, then hit them with it again.
A lot of people don'y even use the skill, but i try to any time i can land it :) it is detrimental to most everyone.
