Suggestions?

Well, I've been thinking about making a fighter alt, mostly because I'm curious what it would be like to tank, and slightly because I'm tired of getting one hit and having my health drop to 1/5... (but that's because a certain someone isn't holding the aggroes!! You know how many times I use protect??) If it wasn't for evasion, I'd be dead really fast... ~.~

I've been thinking about a hybrid build, probably str/end, so I can take damage but still deal a nice amount of damage myself. I don't want to be a damage dealer, but I also don't want to waste too much points into end. So any suggestions on the ratio to use?

And on the weapons, can you still tank with an axe? And how much damage does the 1h sword/shield combo give? I don't think I'll bother with the 2h sword; it doesn't give nice enough damage and it has no added def.

I would lean more towards either 2:1 END:STR or 50 END rest STR because of the block increase drop after 50 END.

And yes, you can tank with an Axe, you just can't be afraid to use your stones and pots.

As long as you scroll up, you can tank with an axe. It's become pretty uncommon these days for an axe user to tank.

Mmmk. How hard is it to level a tank anyway with the 2:1 end/str compared to the 1:1 end/str?

Fighters are pretty easy to lvl up as an axe user from 1-50 people want you in parties if you display good tanking abilities. Yes you can Tank with an axe I've tanked every Major Kq boss with an axe up to KKP were I always Tank it or attempt to(Only a couple times were I used too many scroll sets and said forget it XD). That Brings me to this if your gonna be a axe user you need end/spr/dex gears in that order just my opinion if you don't wanna waste money on aim scrolls dex as the third option is the way to go if you don't wanna use shield cram as much spr in there as you can so you get the magic def of a shield and always you need end just like every class. If your gonna be a Tank get end/str/dex gears just my opinion that Tanks get Tank anxiety later cuz their not killing fast enuff so the extra str however little the bonus is needed. Empowerment's are also different if your gonna b a axe user its wise to have max dmg and cd on pwr hit deva having max duration max dmg and max cd and Vit empowered CD and Buff time is common to both Tank and DD alike. Ummm the S/S combo I have never used on the battle field I have used my friends +9 S/S once and after that I wanted my axe back XD cuz the def is High but the dmg is low even tho Im considering getting it for TR cuz Im all 9ed and the monsters hurt like hell still.

oh yea srry for the double post depends with the build cuz from 1-40 it'll be hard due to crapp gears after that it'll get way easier to Tank and do wat you need to do. Make sure u save ure skills points for devastate cuz if u don't u will have pve/pvp troubles. I didn't get a chance to fix my skills till lvl 70 XD Also Tanking takes time and learning wat skills to press and wat time an so fourth wen to press stones after a while it becomes all instincts and timing trust me as you develop the Tanker Mentality tho you will want to tank everything no matter wat class you are then you might forget I don't have pwnage dmg/def/hp that my fighter has and you die lol. Tho I have never played any other class I would imagine how it would be making a mage or something compared to having a fighter I'd wanna punch my mage all the time just my opinions.

I've never heard the word hard used by a tank before. If you mean how "fast"/"slow" then it's slow alright. Though with the small gap ratio at the early stages of the game, the speed of lvling itself is relatively quick.

hmmmmmm....well i havent had much tanking experience tanking considering i was 1:1str to end though i did use a 1h+sheild until lvl 50. I didnt find lvling that hard in comparison to lvling my dd fighter. Though at that time there was always tons of people around my lvl making ptying very easy. Coming through my second generation as a DD i found very few partys outside of the abyss. Lving for my 1st end fighter didnt get hard until about lvl 60, Soloing in abyss was impossible and with the rise of pking made everything ahrder. They always so "well an end fighter can outlast a tank", not true a DD can easily come with capped end gears and a +9 axe and pwn me in def and str>.<
I guess the best thing would for an axe tanker would be 2:1 end to str along with decent end gears. I usually prefer getting 2 good str gears along with 2 good end gears>then find some dex spr whenever :D
If u have enough money the best would be to buy end/str gears~be pure str in build and +9 everything ($$$$$$$)
