when will people learn that overpricing materials will only do more damage than good, for example scrolls, Summoned beast leather LQ (SBLlq) sells to the NPC for 3c, we the scroll makers buy them for 10-20/30c, which is a deal in itself, but we have overly greedy people who try to sell us SBLlq for 80c or even 100c, now scrolls cost from 100-220 rite now but if we have to buy the materials for them at 80c, it takes 2 SBLlq to make 1 def so thats 160c already, torn is bought for 6-10c but they want to sell it for 20-30(npc=3c) so lets say we buy it for 20c thats 180c spent to make a scroll, and we the scroll makers HAVE to make a profit so we would have to sell it for around 250-350c jus to make a decent profit, and then we would have the same people overpricing materials saying that we are being unfair, the same thing happens with potion materials, they sell tough meat for 20-30c and expect us to sell t1 potions for 30-40c, gamers need to understand that if they expect things cheap they have to sell to our prices, and if the dont like it, they can go NPC them, this is from the lvl 20+ players forcing the scroll makers to have to fight over the low-lvl's drops because the mid-lvl players have no sense of economy, i hope that some of the culprits will see this and lower their prices, i mean your already making a very good profit from your materials, 20c for SBLlq is VERY good STOP being GREEDY or go NPC them you ungratefull ****s
thank you for your time and co-operation.

I've actually set somethign resonable for the potions market.
BUY:
Tough Meat: 8 Copper Each (Two times NPC Price)
Spirit Fruit (Low Quality): 8 Copper Each (Two times NPC Price)
Magic Crystal (Low Quality): 6 Copper Each (Two times NPC Price)
SELL:
HP Potion (Tier 1): 27 Copper Each
Tough Meat: 2 & Spirit Fruit (Low Quality): 1
8 + 8 + 8 = 24
Make 1 Copper profit for each Material used
(8+1) + (8+1) + (8+1) = 27
You find this reasonable, no? Buy materials for 2x the NPC brings salesman, salesman leaves happy at the extra dough, you get items, sell potions for 1 coin profit for each material, Buyers will be happy at such a great price.

i dont think much ppl wud be happy with a 3c profit, i mean spending 6s(250 potions) to to make 6s 750c jus aint good enough to make me sit in shop while at school, selling for 40c each(10s) is much more economic, so you my friend are cheating yourself

Well those people should just add 2c, to the price.
So Summoned Beast leather would be 5c.
And Torn leather would be 6c.

You don't put into consideration the amount of time people have to spend setting up shop to buy the mats and the time we have to spend selling the products when we could be doing something else.
But then again, I buy potion mats for 6~8c each and resell all tier 1 potion for 35c. Mostly cause I wanna raise my skill lvl. But I can understand when people wanna sell pots and scrolls for more.
And as for scrolls, I find it reasonable to sell them at 80~100c each since it's more for higher lvl players who can easily afford it.. and the demand is always there. I sell out of tier 1 scrolls in under an hour at 80c a pop. I make a decent amount of money, but at the cost of one hour of gameplay. Can't even have a conversation going in town cause of all the spammers. Good thing theres a forum

Considering the time to gather raw mat, yep, selling 80 - 100c a pop is way too much.
Then you need to take into consideration the cost of raw material, wich raise final product prices to 300 - 500 each.
Final note, most people set up a shop while they're away, so no, they don't have better things to do.

I generally buy Torn & Beast Leather for 5-6c a piece, Dogtooth about 10c, and originally I was getting Summoned Beast Leather at 18c, but am now at about 20-25c a piece.
If I set my buying at the lower prices or the higher ones depends on how long I'm away from my computer. (I'm always buying on Teva btw - feel free to message me on the forum if any of you are selling decent size quantities)
The only advice I can give you, is if you see people selling stuff, like Torn Leather at 20 or 30c & Summoned Beast Leather at 80c, just don't buy it. I'm not going to buy it, I don't think anyone that has half a clue is going to buy it. If it dosn't sell it's their own fault & their loss.
Some of the price hike is also because of the shop system in this game. Some scrolls need for example 7 materials to make a scroll, so if I always like a full shop I have to set up shop to buy 7 times as often as I set up shop to sell. Even if they don't give us additional shop spaces, I'd at least like to remove the 50 cap on buying & selling items. eg buy unlimited torn leather at 6c, my shop just keeps buying til I'm out of silver, or out of inventory space, then the shop closes (so people don't keep on clicking on an out of action shop). Taking the limits off our shops may increase the raw material price, or it may just offer people more chances to sell their items to reasonable priced player stores, and crafted items might come down in price as peoples businesses increase.

The prices are high for certain materials and always will be. All those richer players who want to get to Tier 3 scrolling will buy every prices SBL/Leather they can get their hands on to up the skill points.
The only time I buy something higher than 2x merchant price is if I am desperate for a material. Dunno why I would be - but if anything that'd be the reason.
You have to remember - everyone is competing out there. And the market competition is tough in the material area. If you aren't buying high enough - the guy next to you probably is. And 5 houses down, someone is paying more than him.
It never ends and people will pay as much as they can to get a hold of the materials they want and need. Not many people like to wait for a non-greedy soul to sell them SBL at 8c a piece, they'd rather get it from someone selling at 20c a piece right away.
It's a sad but true story, and i dislike it, but that is how a player-run economy is. It is up to us to stabilize it and keep it like that - but greed > generosity. Therefore, our economy will always have some pricey prices.

I don't mind competition. But when high lvl people start buying skillup points via buying raw material at excessive prices and sell final product poorly, it screw the economy.
And when final products prices will become less insterresting than selling the raw material to NPC, it will nearly vanish.
