MAGES ARE THE POWER OF ISYA! But not when it coms to power over their staves. Instead of just plain magic attacks, there should be a melee attack for the mages. Like here's an idea, Staff Bash - additional 100 - 150 additional MELEE damage. Cool Time - 5 secs. Immidiate Cast. And you get the new skill at lvl 20 or something. It has a low cool time cuz mages rnt good a upclose combat, just running away (no offence). So it would be a good idea to give them a melee chance.

Last time I checked I thought fighters were the power of Isya >.>. With my fighter: I "Lulz, I r011 ma1 f4c3 0n t3h k3yb04rd. I r a gewd fightar. :3". In your fighter thread you don't give a special title to fighters, like you did clerics and mages<--- only reason I'm commenting here, instead of over there, plus I'm bored. I'm going to bed now lol >.>

No, Fighters are the hooligans of Isya.
Not all but definitely most.
Every degenerate person that I have met in the game plays as a Fighter and to a much lesser extent an Archer.

Mages can't even run away.

They have, what, two skills that they can run and cast? Three at most?

They're stuck having to stand still if they want to kill someone or something anyway, so what's the point?

Besides, their STR is a complete fail, so that would be less useful than spamming their spells.

Mages STR is useless and low, but some sort of staff stun would be useful for kiting >=D (Though we can't kite for toffee but oh well)

If I may point out something for those you think fighters have it totally made.

Our Mag Def is abyssmal, our attacks are slow and require the longest cool times, and we can only hit up to 10 enemies at once. It's the design of the character. They have to be able to survive large mobs and hold aggro while the cleric heals, the archer rains down volley's of poison tipped arrows, and mages nuke the bajeezus out of everything.

Each class was created to fill a niche. It's classic D&D style. A mage that could stand in the middle of a 20 monster mob and rain fire down from the heavens would be absurd. There wouldn't be any point in other characters. Also, if you look at pure DPS, a Mage does more damage than a Fighter could ever hope to, just because they can hit so many more enemies at one time.

And if you have a fighter, you know how hard it is to catch an archer as he runs away shooting over the shoulder. There's a good way to burn through pots and stones.

And clerics, they take alot to go down in a one on one match. Hard to take down someone who can heal by spell, pot, and stone. Then you got all the buffs they can put on themselves, cast invincible and they got made Def.

My point is, If you know how to play your archetype then the field evens out. But hey, this is only how I see things. I'm sure someone could point out flaws in my view, but for the most part I think it's pretty sound reasoning.

Firstly, with the whole "field evening out" theory. Please explain to me how a capped cleric is on even ground with a capped fighter? We are no threat to the fighter class. I doubt even a STR cleric could put enough of a dent in a fighter to make them concerned.

Secondly, I'm gonna call BS on the "longest cool times" claim. Let's go over the basic skills, pl0x.

Slice n Dice = 6sec
Power Hit = 6sec
Immobilize = 8sec
Bone Slicer = 15sec
Fatal Slash = 15sec
Devastate = 20sec

Devastate is the big one. It's most useful skill to every single fighter, and it takes 20 seconds to be able to cast it a second time. (Or less if you empower it)

Let's look at a mage's basic skills.

Magic Missile [1] = 1.8sec
Magic Missile [2~8] = 4sec
Magic Blast = 4sec
Fire Bolt [1] = 5sec
Fire Bolt [2~8] = 15sec
Fire Ball = 15sec
Ice Bolt = 15sec
Ice Blast = 15sec
Lightning Bolt = 15sec
Mana Burn = 3minutes
Purge = 2minutes
Fear = 1minute+ (I dunno the exact CD)

I'm giving the title of "crappiest cool times" to the mages. They got nothing going for them except fear, which they can use once for every 3-4 devastates. And, last I checked, mages don't survive devastate. I've had a near-capped mage tell me this simple math.

Stunned = Dead

The fact that mages have 3 skills that are spammable (Magic Missile, Magic Blast, and Fire Bolt [1]) is only due to the lack of an auto-attack. If nothing else, fighters can still hit everyone while they wait for their not-too-long cooldown. If a mage is on cooldown, they can't do anything except look pretty.

The only way fighters are on even ground with everybody else is in PvE, but even then, fighters have so many advantages that it makes their disadvantages almost insignificant.

I just recently came back to this game. I left it 2 years ago. I played a lv47 wizmage. Back when I use to play (i know this is irrelavent) Mages owned over everyone except clerics who could pretty much go solo as far as grinding was concerned and was nearly broken (meaning nearly unbeatable) in PvP. A mage would have to get a couple good crits in to take down a cleric, if not it would be a long drawn out battle, until one of them ran out of pots and stones. Other than that they couldn't be beaten. Back then I never feared a fighter even just 5-8 levels higher than me. I felt bad for archers back then. They were good in parties, but in PvP they were like a mage without the heavy firepower. I can't wait to see how things have changed.

Number one: Mages don't 'own' anymore. >.>;;;;;;
Number two: Don't feel bad for archers anymore.
Number three: Because archers outdamage us. >.>;;;;;; (Correct me if I'm wrong but an archer and I hit a monster at the same time and the monster runs to the person with biggest damage, right? [Usually an archer] And I went on the archer forums and they said they outdamage mages. >.<")
Number four: Fighters are 'overpowered' but we all love 'em. :D
Number five: Mages could possibly be second to the weakest class? D: (In damage, not def. I know mages are tissue paper) Not sure 'bout that one. >.>"

I don't think a mellee attack with 150 damage wouldn't do much for mages. May as well leave it as is.

Or, they could just give mages more kiting spells. Say a few more of our lower lvl spells have the ablility for mages to kite with but,the skills lose this kiting ability at a certain lvl. That way you can do some damage on the move other than just lightening.

I think a staff stun would be sweet for a mage. Say maybe a 2 or 3 sec stun. If nothing else but to give you a short gap to run and get that next spell off. It wouldn't take away from the fighters at all just give us a short chance before the fighter stuns us and pwns us before we have a chance to even come to. Maybe have a 15 sec CD on it empowered to like 10 secs. You wouldn't be able to empower the length on it to much more though because then it would make mages overpowered just as fighters are now. The main difference between them overpowering us is there stun and the length that it holds us powereless and at there mercy!!

That's probably simply due to the fact that nova and inferno don't have crits.

Nature's mist, piercing shot, and multi shot all allow an archer to crit their enemies.

Mages have magic burst.

So, if you have an archer with an absurdly high crit rate, yes, they'll easily draw agro from the nova/inferno-reliant mage. Probably b/c every time they fire, they're critting something. Whereas a mage can't crit with their main AoE's.

you have it wrong on that part, mages DO have crits on their AoEs, try watching the dmg, sometimes it's 3xx sometimes it's 6xx, that's a crit. they dont show it, but they do crit.

as well as to the person who said fighters have low m.def, that is true, but they have such high hp that the m.def doesnt bother them, and they can just stone. I'm limited to fighters 10 lvls lower then me with 3k hp or less because they can stone to recover all the dmg i do to them while they're feared.

Year was 2007.
Clerics hit as hard as 1h fighters, and can heal. Mages PWN'd everything in PvP. A mage could kill anything very fast. Fighters died the fastest, then Archers. Only class that could beat a Cleric was a Mage, and that was only if he got crits.

I'm feeling nostalgic, Man those were the days. Archers had high cool down on all their skills. Mara and Marlone kq was always full. Ratman was almost guaranteed to give alot of drops, and Pvp required well, skill and tactfulness.

Thx for bringing me back :).

Incorrect fighters are not the over powering class -.-
Fighters are strong because their armors and build allows it, mages can kill clerics faster than any other at level 60+, its called fear, blast it with sum magic, chain cast skill....cast fear again...and boom! dear cleric :D.
Ive done it with fighters as well, i chain cast fear on them and pewpew them with magic ^-^

WRONG! D:

Fighters kill clerics the fastest ^^

Higher (Much higher) crit than a wand with an axe.

Higher damage (Yes, they out-damage the "Damage Dealer" classes)

Stun > Fear since fear can cause the target to run out of the distance and make us have to chase after them

Mages were "Overpowered". Sort of. Fear had a stun effect so they would enjoy standing in a Nova/Inferno Combo until they died (Don't understand how this makes them overpowered though....2 sec cast time FTL!)

Clerics were also "Overpowered" because Invince lasted for about 30 secs and had a CD of 45-1 min or something

No, different skills cause agro differently, and some more than others.
Examples:
Mocking causes agro with no dmg.
Curing Causes agro with no dmg.
As far as DMG goes, Archers have an extra element that Mages do not. DoTs.

Last night infact I stole agro from a Cleric 16 lvls higher than me. It was me that took agro, Not the Archer who was 6 lvls higher than me. Why did I take agro? Because Poison and/or bleed did not stick.
