To a degree, DF has it right.

The dominating class in game, and the easiest way to not be frustrated by it, is to start with a fighter.

The pitfall is that as long as you don't play another class, you generally don't build up any respect for them. Not always the case, but common enough.

Well i like close range combat but the archer has alot of strengths and little weaknesses but clerics are the only ones that can heal themselves and other people BUT Mages are a little bit strong and can do range attacks.

Well it also depends on how you plan to build your character too

Never Take archers. Mages and fighters are pretty easy to level with. with fighter you can go old school all end.
OR Be a Tank DD With less hp than full end people. XD(kinda obvious) More squishy :S. But alot more dmg :D.
Mages. GOGO INT/25 spr :D

In my list of Most fun class to play
Fighter
Mage
Rock
beach
Cleric
drama
ARcher

Pros:

Fighter:
Highest actual damage in game
Easiest gears to find
Levels fastest
High stone capacity
Str build with +9s is functional in both PvP and PvE
You can make a PvP build without sacrificing your PvE effectiveness

Mage:
You don't need to buy a lot of skills early on
Parties are generally easy to find

Archer:
After level 50, archers are awesome mobbers
They're really popular from levels 51-59
Archer females get lots of comments about being cute
There are several ways to build an effective archer

Cleric:
The easiest class to get a party with
Highest self-preservation abilities
Hp/Sp buff at level 47

Cons:
Fighter:
If you lose aggro, you will get yelled at, possibly sworn at (by immature players)
Being properly supplied can be expensive
After level 50, everything you can do can be done better by another class (except PvP)

Mage:
Most expensive gear in the game (on Teva)
Low number of stones, plus a lost stone in the 5xs
No magical auto-attack
Low hp
Slow to level if you need to solo
"Glass cannon" isn't an understatement

Cleric:
You will be asked - even harassed - for buffs, heals, and cures
You will take the blame if someone dies, even if they're an idiot
Lowest damage dealing capabilities in the game
Slowest to level without a party

Archer:
Missing skills that are present in other versions
Variety of builds means that no one is sure what kind of build is most efficient
Low number of stones
Usually the last class to get a party
Decent gear is hard to find (at least it is on Teva)

doesnt matter xD,

wanna help people giving buffs n heals n sometime take a lead n charge be a cleric...

wanna show-off by close combat, wanna have many skills, be a fighter

wanna have more dmg, n cool skills be mage

wanna be quick, more accurate, take more target at one time than any class be archer..

well there r more to each class...

so choose any1 n play or create all 4 n play which ever u want....

about the fact like str, def, int, spr, dex that all depends on u how u want to build ur char
after u lvl up each time....

what to say more...

enjoy it...xD

p.s abt the fact of more dmg,def,m..dmg

Actually cercia, mage gears aren't the most expensive, at least on my server. e.g. 88 fighter pants with 44 END 43 DEX (+0) sold for 1gem.

Why not just try them all, and then pick a main, depending on your playing preferences?

I went through a fighter and then a mage, only to find out I was healer at heart. :p

Good luck XD

But, on a mage, you will be buying full +9 gears to simply survive. I cannot think of a single server where +9s sell for less than +anything else.

But, it may indeed be server specific, so I will change it.

I see your point :x

Suggestion:

Make one character of every class. Get them all to level 20 and do the first job change quest. And by then, you will have more of a feel for which class you like and then you will be able to pick your main from there.

I did that and ended up leveling my cleric over my other characters once they were all 2x. Now that he's capped, I backtracked, then leveled my archer. Now I'm working on my mage (got bored on my archer). When I get stuck or bored, I'll work on my fighter.

I haven't been too frustrated with my choices yet (with the exception of not being able to find a party as a cleric, that was the only thing that really sucked).

yuo cant say a character is boring after just getting 20 :S
i mean archer nice aoe you get in the 51, Tanks Devastate in 43, Mages Nova at 60 inferno at 67
clerics buff at 47.
SO just getting your char to 20 isnt really the best way to see which class is most fun d:

~Archers are least likely to get a party

~Clerics spend more time healing than doing anything else as they level.

~Fighters .... is there a downside to playing a fighter?

~Mages are squishy beyond all reason

Every class has a downside. I gave him the suggestion of getting to level 20 because by then, he's touched the basics of each class (i.e. Tanking in King Slime, Healing in Mara, being a Damage Dealer). Besides, if you're a newb, you're going to probably take several months to get to 4x on all four classes. Level 20 is closer to being within the range of reason, time-wise, before finally deciding on a main.

But these aren't laws, so by no means does he have to agree with, acknowledge, or even read my suggestion. There's no wrong way to play the game.

if you wanna be a little suicidal and make your self a full str cleric just remember after lvl20 buy gears with dex, end and spr and put end or dex rings on make sureyou have hammer and shield above +8 with dex end spr on them then you can do awesome crit attacks that will make you go deaf, and buy lots of cash shop crit gears then you will go blind and deaf at the same time

ty

loaded revolver
lvl7x sycho paladin
pure str ftw
teva
dakkons legion

solo suicide pally i'm a duo pally not a party cleric
give me full exp or give me death

For a second there, I thought I am reading something I wrote. I went through exactly the same class process too! Fighter, mage, and finally cleric.

Pros:

Archer females get lots of comments about being cute

That, and that reason ALONE is why you should make an archer your first character haha:D

In my opinion, archer would be best.
With the right build you can do just about anything.

Mages have strong magical attacks and, as far as I've noticed, the most SP, yet less HP than the other classes.

Personally, I choose mage/archer over fighters and clerics. I have a thing ranging lol

It depends exactly what you want to do though: Tank, DD, heal?

Ok, do you HAVE all classes? I do, and let me tell you, it depends all on your build.

Mages may have low defense, but with the right equips, you can kill anything with just minimum damage or even before it hits you.

Archers have a little bit of everything. Again though it depends on your build. My archer's build is all around and I do perfectly fine on my own, no partied or cleric necessary.

Clerics have a low attack when they go into an END build. If you max out your attack and heal, go for some STR and END, then later add in SPR, and have DEX equips, it's all good :]

I can't say much about fighters since it's the one class I have the least experience on. You can kill stuff, and you barely get hit. That's about all I can say XD

You also need to think about the surrounding classes if you are going to participate in PvP. Mages' low defence makes it perfect for fighters. Fighters' low M.def makes it perfect for mages. Clerics and archers: it usually depends on the build.

We get to have more then 1 character!!! >.> <.< lol I did not know. I will most likely just go through each class until i find a class i like better.
