View Full Version : AMD Processors with integrated graphics

It has come to our attention that our community members using AMD processors with integrated graphics are experiencing difficulties playing Fiesta.
The problem seems to be in the driver of the integrated graphics card. Updating this driver may partially resolve some of the issues our AMD users are experiencing in-game.
Two files, both available from the AMD website, must be downloaded and installed to improve performance:

Processor Driver
Processor Optimizer
[/list]
You must download the files for your specific AMD processor family, but you can do so for free at: http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871,00.html
Also, so that we can more permanently address the issues our users are experiencing, it is very important that you provide us with screenshots of any glitches or bugs if at all possible. It would be a great help!
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

To think it would be that easy, I did find the 'Driver' for my sempron processor, but I can't dl the optimizer if it's for linux...so I guess I'm screwed then. And since this isn't my comp I don't want to risk*any damage, I really wanted to try out the game but if I have to go through too much to do so then it's not worth it.
*If anyone wants to help me on this I'd appreciate it, but if there is nothing that can be done then forget it...this is the first game to have anything to do with a specific processor like this. I hadn't ever had problems like this before and this is a first.

*i hav successfully upgraded my ram from 384 to 512, but i play the game for about 10 minutes when all of the sudden it freezes up and the screen displays vertical bars of 2 different colors

sadly i dont hav any screenshots nor can i take any since the only way to resolve the problem of this display is to restart my computer, i cant use a task manager or minimize the program(the sound still plays tho)

Are you all both using AMD processors with integrated graphics?

JimJimster - integrated graphics use a lot of memory and don't perform very well.
I suggest actually getting a graphics card if you can't get anything running well.

Mines an AMD Sempron on an MSI Motherboard with ATI Sapphire Radeon 9600SE Video card...My comp was custom built by someone --; wish I knew which version of sempron it is.
I can only guess that it might be, but I can't play the game...I installed a driver and it didn't work so I guess this only works with Athlon 64 and screws the others out of this. If you check the other forum there are others who have this same issue and use Intel as well.

Jim an onboard graphics card is placed up the top of the tower at the back a PCI or AGPx8 graphics card is more the middle the the vertical part rather than the horizontal part where the on board graphics card would be.

*idk if this is a sign of having an integrated graphics card but after about 2 minutes of playing fiesta the screen freeezes up and displays vertical bars with the colors of the background of where the last view was, i cant see anything but the bars and nothing will open on top of it(task manager) so i hav to shut my computer down manually
really annoying, im going to get some better ram than wat i hav to reduce lag, it seems to only do this when i get major lag

I don't know why I can't play and I do have an actual video card running very well on this system. (With the ATI Catalyst Control to make my preferred adjustments). But I don't understand why it won't run, and I have played heavier games than this.

I have a five year old computer that can't run Fiesta.I'm getting a new one though that should run Fiesta very fast.
I'm sorry guys but Fiesta is in the future. We need the computers that are fast today.
Interesting....a computer after 3 years becomes obsolete,in 5 years it becomes a dinosaur,and in 10 years....it's useless.
That's how fast technology moves.

JimJimster,it could be the integrated graphics card.See an integrated graphics card shares memory with your RAM.
Having independent graphics card is like your having your own graphics processor.
Higher end graphics card are a must for gamers.

I have a dual core athlon 64 fx which is 2.21ghz apiece with a gig of ram. I have a Radeon x700 series video card with on board memory of 512...yet i'm still experiencing crashes...I know my pc isn't crappy...but i dont have integrated graphics...nor will i ever use it...not reliable...I think i will visit ATI's website for any updates...

I've got a AMD Sempron 2800+ with 256mb RAM and my only real problem is that I lag alot sometimes.
It's also funny that Fiesta is the onlygame my computer will play lol.

I also have*a constant problem with game freezing up but I don't use AMD(have a GeForce FX 5500 OC PCI 256 MB DDR and have the latest drivers and comp is less than a year old with specs*beyond what is needed to run the game. Also use a cable service). It will freeze for about 15 seconds or so then go back to normal sometimes. Other times it will freeze for the 15 or so seconds then I hear a weird noise for a few seconds then when game returns everything that*occured during the freeze-up happens in 2 seconds and characters moving at superfast speed. If I continue playing I start getting really strange graphic problems like colored triangular shapes with white lines in them. Sometimes I see them coming off the top of another character's head.
Restarting the computer fixes the problem but only for a little while then it starts freezing again. Roumen and KQ quests(can't do one quest without it happening several times even on a fresh reboot)*are the biggest problem where this occurs but it happens almost everywhere, though I have yet to have it happen in Forest Of Tides or Sand Beach.
I play alot of other games(Anarchy Online, Rapellz, Corum Online, Eudemons, Silk Road, Metin2, just to name a few and have had no problem at all with them.

That is what you get for having AMD garbage. Buy a real Processor (intel)

So mcafee00, you mean buy a Celeron with a lower bus speed and less cache?
