I'm in need of very nooby help

How do I get new skills and such D:
I can't figure out how to make items, and my lack of skills is bugging me

you buy them from skill master ruby. Then when u get the scroll exit the shop and righclick the scroll. You have to pick 2 alchemy skill first before u can create anything and you need to buy the learning scrolls for those alchemy skills.

I'm a noob too, how do you buy the skills. I talk to ruby and then the list of skills opens up but nothing happens when I click on the skill I want, I have enough copper and all the requirements (nothing is red). What am i doing wrong? It's so frustrating! And I can't find any help in the official help guide.... it's very useless for new players I find.
