Has anybody noticed that the Bash animation is the same time as 2 normal attacks with a mace
thus making the 200 damage i do when bashing verses the 70-80 i do auto attacking nearly the same?
so thats 140-160 or 200 damage and 56 sp? anybody else feel bash is kinda not worth it as well as the rest of the cleric damage spells?
i have 5 damage ugprade points into my bash also...
maybe bash is ment for the 1.3 attack speed weapon?? any oppions or explanations on how to get bash to do more

I don't see that for my bash animation.. my bash animation shows me in a dyskinesia-like fit as I partially swing and pull the hammer back 3 times before slamming it down on them in an overhead fashion.. my bash does a ton more damage than my normal melee hit too. (that's not factoring my crit, my T4 bash can crit for 470 against an npc that's borderline red compared to me)

thats the animation im talking about, from the time the bash is pressed till your next auto attack is the same time as 2 swings on the 1.1 second hammer

Where did you find a 1.1sec hammer, out of curiosity? The fastest I've seen is 1.3 sec.
We'll say your avg hit is 90 for this quick analysis:
90 * 2 hits = 180 damage, given the simple math.
T4 bash, same time.. 279~378 dam
variation: 99~198 damage in the same timeframe, not including any bonus you may get (like a crit on the bash, which is a nice damage increase of that) appears to be worth it, and offsets. The .2 sec difference between the mace and the hammer is there with the aim bonus to offset the damage difference as well.
As for it being designed for 1 type, the cool down will remain no matter which weapon you use, short of it being trained down. I get the feeling you think that bash is not efficient with the hammer, but I'm trying to figure out why.

yeah, if u a damage dealer cleric then yes bash is suk if u dont empower it. The animation which swing around 3 times b4 hitting the target is a must, u just have to live wit it if u intent to use bash. But if u pay close attention to it u'll see after bash hit the target u be idle for about 1-2sec. To cancel that idle time u have to press the auto att button again. Though if u cast bash imediately after a heal or invincible, then u can save about .5-1 sec of the healing or invincible animation.

Ditto for the reverse. Bash->Heal will cancel the bash animation, and the post-bash lag. Probably saves a good bit of time if grinding solo.

As others said, I will throw my cents into the pot.
Time your bash after you release 3 attacks or so. Just as you hit the mob, press the button and as soon as you do that, cast a spell like Heal or Restore. It will do burst damage and get an HoT on you without sacrificing anything.
Good things to know when you are out soloing.
My Bash is empowered though (5dam and some # in SP) so it is a lot better than base Bash which probably can't compare.
My commendation is (this is for anyone else reading out of curiosity) if you are using it - empwoer it. It is out only useful attack skill in the game right now.
