Pursuit of Xen
Introduction
Xen Stones apparently are rare items that only few have found. Xen Stones are mystical items that are brought forth by the gathering of conflict. Xen Stones are becoming abundant in Linear Forest. They have sprouted from the mass death of pocupocu’s and can be found lying on the grounds of Linear Forest. Hurry before they disappear into thin air.
Prize:
Xen Stones (stones used to upgrade, level up items such as armor and weapons).
Now it's time to see what the players really thought.
Be polite please and as constructive as possible.

I waited a little time to collect my thoughts, before writing this, hoping that someone else would start us off, but alas, people are probebly still ingame playing and too busy to come post on forums. ;)
So here we go.
As events go, this one was posted on the forums, nicely, concise, 5 hours before the event was due to start.
An hour before event, our host GM_rider was available ingame, posting notices frequently enough for people to arrive and the event was started on schedule, when he promtly dissappread from view and the hunt began.
The next hour was spent searching for elusive Xen Stones, which were big red stones, which once people could clearly see what they were, was a lot easier.
As you can imagine, some people got a little frustrated and many comments were spammed in blue shouting, about the delay of picking up these X-stones.
After seeing the first one, when no one was around, to having to wait 10 seconds and have 10 or so people turn up an steal it out from under me, I too was a little irritated. However, it was gleaned, that the event stones were being dropped by GM_rider, rather than randomly spawning as we were lead to believe.
After an hour, the event ended and we had some winners, some lucky enough to get 2 or more stones and we had many who unfortunatly, did not manage to be lucky enough to find an X-stone.
Overall, the event was handled very well and whilst there will be many frustrated people at the end of these events, we have to remind ourselves, it's all luck and a game at the end of the day.
Personally however, I hated it and comments of, challenging and fair from certain people, irritated me as I wasted an hour running around like some headless chicken, trying to find a loot item, which to me, is as irritating as looking for quest items at times and whilst I was lucky enough in the end to recieve an X-stone, I still felt things could have been better prepared.
Maybe it's because I have seen so many events in so many games, where people who have limited time ingames, get so frustrated at so poor chances, that I have to state I hate this type of event or maybe it's because I have been unlucky in most of those events, but overall, they are frustratingly annoying rather than challanging and fair.
If this event was run again in the future, I would suggest if and with the massive turnouts of testers or players, that at least a minimum of 2 GM's be present dropping those stones. Maybe, if you can arrange it, find items that players can't have 2 of, to allow others a real chance of actually gaining one, rather than people getting 2 or 3 dissallowing others that chance.
That's my 2 pence worth.
<Edit> I re-read my second to last sentance and realised, you could make an E-Xen Stone, which players can only handle one at a time, leaving the real Xen stones to be collected from other sources?
