Pursuit of Xen event discussion

Hello SoS players!

First I want to thank you all who participated in this event. The number of participants was astounding and it seemed like you were all having fun (I hope ^^).

Second I congratulate all the lucky people of SoS who found a Xen Stone. I know if was not easy to find them and sometimes you had to fight for the spot next to one.

Thirdly I would like to know how the event was for you all. Please leave a feedback in this thread and let me know what you thought of it.

The event was great yet overwhelming by the "alt key" the event has its pro and cons
yet i have to say i was lucky enough to get 2 of them. In the contrary side the map was a bit big and the drops were really "random" more likely they were in easy visuable place to see but not under trees! I even saw some players under trees hoping they could catch it falling down from the sky. Anyway I feel like it was unfair for some players witch found it first yet they were opressed by the bad luck of not getting it because of the time limit. But other than that it was a great event wish there would have been more drops it wasn't how i pictured it but hey not evryone got one anyway thats just my opinon.

First, I'd like to point out that my comments would probably not be as positive had I not gotten lucky and got a Xen Stone in the last 10 minutes of the event. My experience went a little like this:

Stone 1 dropped almost next to me and 2 other people, did not get the stone...
Stone 2 (look at stone 1)
Stone 3 I saw a bunch of people running at it so I tried to get it too, no luck...
Stone 4 dropped next to me an 1 other people, I was the lucky one who got it.

So on average, that makes it 4 stones seen in 60 minutes = 1 chance at a stone per 15 minutes... However! I heard of people seeing 6+ stones during their time, so I'd say on average maybe you get to see 1 stone per 10 minutes? Unless this item is rare beyond belief, I don't think this would be a worthwhile event to attend since time could be better spent elsewhere. But I'm gonna think that this is a rare item and the event was worthwhile.

In terms of how fair the system was, I'd say that it was ok. For people who didn't get a single stone, I predict that the event to them was a complete waste of time. Since I got 1, I'm saying it was simply ok. What would have made it better was if maybe 2-3 stones dropped at the same time in a somewhat close proximity. That way you don't have a dogpile for a single stone. It would give people a better chance at getting a stone (pick the pile with the least # of people) and would still feel just as rewarding since there aren't so many drops that people think the reward is commonplace.

Also, I don't know how the drops worked (people said GM rider went around dropping them), but it would be much cooler if killing the Pocupocus actually did something in the event (I know some people like me were confused about how the event worked at first until other people explained it). For example, killing X amount of them in a given time span or area could force the stones to drop. That way people aren't just mindlessly going around looking for them. Overall though, the event wasn't bad and turned out pretty well.

the first 30minutes of the event i loved it (i got 3 :P), but after that i didn't like it as much, cuz i didn't get any lol.

Also the mobs summoning was fun :D.

I want city invasions :D.

But overall, the event was a good shot at getting these rare stones(as it took like a whole day of grinding to find 2 -.-).

well it was 7 am in the morning for me, just the time i woke up and logged in the game. its good to see so many people running and joking around. too bad i gotta go to school 15 mintues after.

and i congratulate to everyone that participated in the event and got xen stones. time to upgrade your weapon :P

First off, it's always good to see GMs who are active on the forums, and also in the game, willing to do events like these. Two different events, two days in a row? Keep it up GMs!

Second, this event was a good event, but it could have been better. It would have been nice to have the gems drop at random from the mobs on the map, instead of randomly dropped from an invisible GM (speculation, although that seems to be what happened).

Also, I don't know if anyone brought this up yet or not, but I think it was a bit unfair that some people were able to get 2 or more gems, while the majority of players didn't even get 1. Perhaps there could have been a rule in place that allowed for only 1 gem per participant? That way the gems would have been more evenly spread out over the participants, and the event would have been more successful. Just my two cents.

I actually had a really good, it did kinda suck when you couldn't pick them up instantly, but I still ended up getting 3 Xen stones from the hour event. It's really nice to see GM's doing events on a game, really shows that they wanna do something and make it more fun for people. =)

It was a Nice event but i might have an idea most people will agree on.
Well first u should split the maps ( where ever u are going to host the event) into 2 sections.

like left side u should spawn lvl 30 and under mobbs for low lvl because its hard for a low lvl to find any xen stones because higher mobb own em in couple hits...

and on the right side u can spawn lvl 30+ or even higher for them higher lvl characters so its fair for everyone and much easier.

Problem is bears run away quick (even for 5x neo with speed enhancement), could hit one or two with blind side, one I killed no drop, second Archer killed and took xen stone.

As said most players need xen stones, if a player got 6 in events and one playing (lucky) he/she may get one piece +3 (average). Xen Stones are just too pricy, and a 50/50 chance "average" at enhancing, and more people needing enhasments, and low drops.

But in all fairness "bears" running a way, and archers mass lvl killing 5-10 a once. If you "rider" were not so nice, many would have done with-out. :cool:

Wow I get maybe one a week grinding (4-6 hours) a day 6-7 days a week

as it took like a whole day of grinding to find 2 -.-).

I had trouble understanding the event...
it's not so friendly to new players

and with the new xen stones going around, the xen price went down...
so i have to hold onto my rare one xen stone and sell it at a better time

i heard about this event when i went to buy some spark items off the site......but i didn't get an e-mail or anything about it.....so i couldn't even take part in it....

they dont send emails about events, at least not that i kno of--i never received one...there's a calendar of events in the gm hosted event section of the forum, it will tell that's goin on and when and what u need to participate...Good luck!

i thought the last pursuit of xen was great! good job rider! i liked how every 1 was put in 2 their own lil section so it was a matter of how fast u killed and up to chance, based on the drop rate. and goin up against the bunnies in the christmas dungeon was cool 2--i didn't hv to chase them down :D

Oh and the fun of chasing dumb bears around. They run from most my toons, the ones that do not run from it's a fight. Add in Archers and mages with mass kill spells arrr, my wild swing and such just helps the acher/mage get the kill in one shot.
My only hope is to get the first hit, and do enough damage to one, that I may get a xen.
In the past only because of nice GM's have I ever (2nd -4th round) got a xen.
