put most into INT for Mage as that gives more damage, but watch out for future weapon changes, as they have a POWer stat requirement.

You should add POW until you can become a Mage or a better class.
POW adds damage, and its easy lvling until u get promoted.

Wait u asked for Mage?
INT is best, just like wat Teifer said.

When you change to your first job your stats reset so ya go full str, as for stat goes when you change job, what I did i went full int for my aco, and at lvl 20 you may reset your stats as many times as you want so you may build your char to what ever fits you.

To reiterate : -

Level 1 - 16 - full POW stats. This will help you level to first class change.

16+ depends on your profession, like INT for Mage, Agility for Rogue, etc. Maybe others can add specific's.

Just put it all into POW, you get to reset your stats, not sure after CBT this is the case.

Hm well like people posted. From lv 1-16 go all POW then restat and if you a mage fill in the requirements for the class change:
POW: 3
INT: 12
STA: 3
WIS: 4

Then go all out in +INT if you want to have good damage, you can perriodically add Wis to gain more MP+MP Regen rate, and for better blocking with Magic Shield.
You can try balance like INT/MEN , i hear that men lowers casting time, but until your not a Magician (lv66) i doubt you'll really need any low Casting speed, the spells have it low as it is.
But don't forget to add every time you change your wepon , POW required for it (usually its +1POW for every new weapon)
