Archer PVP Strategies

Always have your "Enhance Focus" on at ALL times (I put my shortcut for "Enhance Focus" on my space bar key).

Jumping Strategy:

Pros:
- Doesn't take much practice to pull off a dash + jump + strong attack
- Makes the enemy bored and give up as they are trying to chase you

Cons:
- Assassins can easily dash faster making it hard to get away from them
- Alot of moving around

Tips:

- For a jumping archer it is wise to stay far away from the enemy as possible.

- Once you dash away from them, you would then want to jump away from them once then turn around and hit them with a strong attack. This gives the illusion that you are going to double jump further away from them which in theory you aren't.

- Know the timing of your jumping strong attack from when you jump at your highest point, to when you can shoot once your falling down from a jump position.

- If you're stuck in a position where the enemy is right underneath you when you jump don't be alarmed, move to the opposite direction in which the enemy is facing, then when you come down hit them with a weak attack and dash away from them as quickly as possible.

Grabbing Strategy:

Pros:
- Easy to establish combos
- Vulnerable target

Cons:
- Can miss a grab and making yourself vulnerable for an attack
- Hard to grab moving target

Tips:

- Short hops are the key. do a short jump from left to right and as soon as you see a strong attack applied, Grab and skill the enemy

- As soon as you grab press the skill you want to use as fast as possible. Why? because when a char grabs and skills, the enemy tends to block their skill. Doing this will make it 100% success that the skill will be displayed.

Hint: Try it out yourself with no enemies, simply strong attack (which is grab) and skill straight away. You would know if your doing it correct by moving after you have strong attack + skill, and realizing that you cannot move after you strong attack as it will do the skill straight away. Becareful though, if you miss the grab it will automatically use the skill and their is nothing you can do about it

- Although grabs can make a combo, it is wise to not apply the 2nd combo/skill after pulling off an ice arrow. Because 95% of the time the enemy will block the 2nd combo/skill. So it is best to dash away from them and using a Jump + Strong Attack on them, then when you come down you can weak attack them, which doing those 2 attacks will equal a fire attack damage.

Another suggestion:
1)Dont atk when u see someone use dif always, cuz if u try jump and shoot him/her they can hit u always, or grab you and use skills.
2)When someone spam jump and use wooden sword ( and i see a lot of players use that) give up and dont waste ur time try hit them.
3)About rogue, well run always-jump and sometimes shoot back to you, if u are lucky u can hit them.
4)Use always ur fast atk (normal atk) vs monk cuz they always try grab you and give u a fire kick, so they must jump and u have some chance to escape.

Also, i wanna add that, because archer is really weak (compared to other ranged) and our skills require us to be on the ground, I suggest that you always keep and eye out for the red and blue squares on the small pvp screen thing. The main trait of an archer that makes it strong is it's ranged ability. and strong [non-skill] attacks.

These are scenarios that i see often:
THINK! dont just spam one button >>; and keep on the move! archers cant take that many hits.

Keep enhance ON!!!!!!---- seriously, how many times have you lost ALL your mp? and with our slow attack speed, every hit counts! I usually use a bit of mp for skills but focus mainly on jump-attack, so enhance is very useful.

When you see two of your opponent's square things around one of your ally's square things,[and they're all moving] dropping in and doing a few skills usually hit and get the opponents off your ally.

When avoiding rogue[just during hide], jump often (and at random intervals), this makes them have to jump to hit you, and then you can see the dust 'bubbles' they leave behind. and this way, they cant predict when/where you'll land, making it harder for them to land a poison/stun/stun+poison, which will hurt you a lot.

dont walk into a large group of opponents alone, you'll get spammed to death (this goes for all classes) Archers have slow attacks---slower than rogue, and having alot of ppl after you makes it extreamly hard to attack and avoid blows. however i find that archers are very good at 1v1. so when the group splits up, it's easy, or easier to pick them off one by one~ ^^

-umm...may edit l8r- and if you feel like what ive said is wrong, feel free to contradict me =)
-also, i want to note that i dont have much experience with 1v1, so this stuff probably apply more towards dealing with a large group of ppl.

Yeh your key is to weak attack and short hop
You kno that if we jump away from them they will stay on the ground and dash to us
So its best to fake that ur jumping by doing a shot hop then turning around and doing a weak shot

Also short hopping from left to right of a monk or rogue can make them think that you will be landing on the left of the so they wait and strike yet you are hopping AGAIN to the other side.

Mainly you want them to strike first so that u can grab and skill and to remember your SHORT HOPS.
