I'm wondering if anyone else has had any luck with finding happy seeds? I've had to relive the frustration I had the last time this quest was released, where I spent hours a day searching through flowers, in the hopes of finding any. I'm half ticked off at myself for spending four hours a day, today and yesterday, with absolutely no results to show for it all. With all the other quests there was a reasonable success rate: you kill enough monsters, you'll get enough of whatever it is that you need to gather to complete the quest and get a reward. Simple enough to get through, no complications there.
It also doesn't help that flowers are so scarce...why not just put the seeds inside mushrooms instead, at least then the odds increase a lot more that way and people aren't nearly death staring each other to bits every time a flower spawns.
I can't help but feel like this is an early April's fool joke...'Oh wait, we kinda forgot to add the happy seeds to the patch...oops...' Does anyone know what the actual percentage of chance is for a happy seed drop? Just curious, would love to know if others are having the same dilemma or if I'm just really really unlucky with this particular quest. And if you did find any, how long and how much effort did it take you?

meh they had happy seeds ebefore in 2008.
Isnt worth it, I only did quest cuz I thought the cake was tradable and it would sell lots after months. But its a free status up potion.
Adds +10 to all skills

*remembers the Isya Blossom event*
2 weeks of my life. GONE.
Atleast I won a raccoon.
Amazingly, I haven't even bothered looking for seeds yet xD

Here is a snapshot I just took, showing that I am using the Hunter's Rant. It also shows 100 flower petals, yet I have not seen a seed at all. I have a friend who got 5 in one drop right after he started looking for them, he is not even using a Rant.
Needless to say I am not very happy about the results of this.
EDIT* I forgot to mention I have already dumped inventory of petals twice, and that at first I wasn't even collecting the petals.

Hunter's War Rant increases the drop rate from mobs, not harvesting.

I was going too quick and left out one part, thank you for pointing that out.
As far as the Rant goes, the ratio of Event drops was 3 to 1 in favor of not having a Rant. In 10 kills each of Blue Clover Trumpies he had 3 Event items, vs my one cup of flour.

You have to be patient, I spent 5 hours until I got happy seeds. A friend found them like 30 minutes searching so it's random.
I also love that they are not tradeable. The Isya Blossoms event was cool but since they could be traded the players that won were high levels with tons of money to buy them... unlike me, I was level 36 at the time so two cleric friends also 30+ and me spent a week collecting everyday so one of us would get a pegasus. So don't tell me that was fair, who worked more... 3 of us collecting for 8 hours per day so only one of us would win... or high levels who only open a buying store and bought them for 20s each.
The prize, item or whatever should go for the players that work for it, not for the ones that have money to buy the cakes or other event items.

I spent like 1h or so harvesting for the happy seeds, and yes, patience does pay off. I found 5 seeds at one go. :D So 5 cakes at one shot. (They're taking up quite some space in my always bloated inven.)
I am still left with a mountain load of flour and eggs though.

I don't feel like fighting over flowers.. I'm trying to wait a moment nobody is farming them, or at least there are no 5 people waiting for "their" flower to spawn.
Flowers seem pretty rare ingame.. :o

Erm. . . I got 7 seeds on my main, first day of the event. . .
And I got another 5 on my cleric. . . while randomly picking a flower i found in MT
And I got 3 on my archer. . . while picking a random flower. . . in mt.
Really. . . it isn't so hard.

I didn't care to do it but i'm kinda surprised it wasn't like the Isya Blossoms(wich were attainable via mushrooms, herbs, wood, and flowers)
