How to beat your Shadow, the EASY way!

I did some testing after I sat there and thought about how many times I've given people advice/scrools who complained that they couldnt beat their shadow. I'm not quite sure if it's a bug...BUT I found a flaw =D (GMs if this is a bug please move this topic to the bugs section).

I'm not sure if anyone has already figured this out, but I've never seen anyone mention or post something like this, so I'll be the first.

As you may have noticed, your shadow looks and wears everything exactly like you...So here's what you do. Before you enter the dungeon to fight your shadow, take off all your armor and your weapons (Use scrolls before entering). Once you are in there, you will notice that your shadow will also not have any armor or weapon. Then quickly put on your armor and weapon as soon as you get in there!! and there you go! easy way to beat your shadow, since he has no armor or weapon on you can pretty much defeat him. I had a friend test this with a mage...(I did this with a fighter) and she said that her shadow would 1 hit KO her before she could put her armor on. So I suggest that you put your armors and weapons on the SHORTCUT bars and just quickly click on them to put them on, instead of having to open your inventory!

Tried that.... its even worse with out weapons and equipment. I am not saying that the removal of the equipment will not have an effect on the battle, its just that the removal of the equipment is more of a disadvantage instead of an advantage. The removal of equipment especially weapon, is only going to increase the speed of attack of your shadow, and there is no change in attack for him. His attack is just as strong with or without the weapon.

However I cannot assure you that this information is true entirely. I have only tried it with my fighter, and the damage received and given were about the same. The thing is I don't expect to beat your shadow easily, its supposed to be a "test", so expect to guzzle a couple of HP pots and stones b4 victory is set.

*yawn* I beat that at level 20 on my first try as a cleric. No tricks, and I only used a quarter of my SP. I didn't use any stones or pots either.

Oh, a high level cleric did temporarily increase my HP/SP in Sea of Greed before-hand, though.

beat mine, was cake a few oops almost forgot to heal times, but i had +aim and +def on and no refinded items, ( Cleric )

cleric would have the easiest time i guess cause they got heal and buff to help them

about the takeing off your armor and going in to fight your clone part there is no effect to it... yes you clone will take your looks without your armor and weapon but it will still be the same damage when u put on your armor..tried that on my fighter( test and proven to not work)

i heard people on teva ( never going back there) saying take off your bow and armor forever, i hope that is true cuz its like a exploit atm

I did the take of the equipment thing the first time i went into both of my level 20's (archer and cleric) and didn't have a hard time..

I just reasoned it out when i heard you were fighting yourself and he has the same stuff you have..

it was pretty easy all and all..

I think people die because they get too excited.. just relax and take it easy..

the battle itself really isn't all that difficult.

if i can do it.. ANYBODY can do it.

That's not the only thing lol... if when you follow the blue light in the dark up the ramp and before the lights come back on, your shadow will have no armor or wep again. ^^ Or you could just turn off your shadow in settings. ^^

i beat him in my second try cuz in my first i had like 40 hp left when i entered and i didn't know what to expect. NORMALLY after i fail i take extra causion so when i went to fight him again i was buffed with scrolls (play as a fighter)i had a full arsenal of stones lol and 150 pots just in case :p ididn't even used 40 pots :p. He was pretty easy except for the part when it lagged and i almost died :p cursed the hell out of the internet lol :p

I used 20 pots on fighter and my friend used 5 on his cleric. Cleric is such an easy class to lvl :/

i don't reccomend taking off the armor if you're a mage, i got killed like 3 times in a row trying that, you realy need the mdef on it to survive the first clone attack

I put my armor at the front of my inventory ^^ Shirt, pants, helmet, then boots I think I did. ^^ Then vit scroll right next to it. Got it all on while he talks crap before the fight lol.

I beat my shadow on all my chars. in one try . just fill up on stones n have some scrolls n you are good to go. n get a buff to :DDDD

tryed to do that b4... Also, I beat it 3 times. Yet It wouldsn`t let me get past it. Yet, thanks for the information. I will try it. I also can add you as a friend if you want. I`m on server Legel and I am Cleric. (Xopher). Anyway, the point is i`ll try it and thank you very much for the info. Exactly what I was looking for. I`ll put in a good word for you guys.;)

Never found it hard at all. They must have made it a little harder because I remember doing it scroll-less.

i still say that taking off gear does notin cuz ive tried it with gear and without and didnt seem like it made a difference
i just put on a t1 shield and im ready to go

yea tt's so long ago... just strip yourself and wear back, if u can't and it doesn't work den just scroll up and pot up
