Two words. Spam Police. Outspark needs to get volunteers who will run shifts in cities and have others patrol zones. These persons will have the ability to ban anyone gold spamming and warn, then boot, anyone spamming for any other reason. This way gold spammers will get banned, noobs(newbs, beginners, ect.) will learn to chat normally.

But on the latter note, I personally have asked a question in open conversation, something simple, and have had no one answer me, or on the odd occasion have been ridiculed for being a noob and still didn't get the help I needed. So if you know the answer to someone's question, don't be a jerk, help 'em out.

In closing though I hereby volunteer myself to be deputized a Spam Police Officer. I will honor the rules of fair play, and will ban (gladly and with a huge smile on my face) anyone caught gold spamming, and aid others who are spamming to find out information so they do not annoy others. I vote no for 1 reason, and 1 only.. you used the word ban. No one that is not of the GM type should -ever- have ban. Now... a police->GM chat channel to report it for the GMs to investigate, yes - that's doable in my eyes.

I agree that it might not be such a good idea, because some people who get that kind of authority might take advantage of it and just ban anyone they want to. I agree something definitely needs to be done about the spamming though.

If you're worried about someone banning someone they shouldn't all you'd need have them do is take a screenshot of the offender in question gold spamming and submit it before they issue the ban. If they do a ban they don't have a screen shot for, the lose their police license.

So they ban someone, and they just lose their license? If we went that way, I'd vote.. screen shot -everything-, ban one without evidence your account gets perma-nuked, all equip, all alts, gone. I'd still like to see GMs handle things that players have no business getting involved in, and a python script with regex matching could handle this much faster than any player ever could.

I woted yes, but in the way that, If not too much of a bother I'd gladly notify GM's of spamming. I logged in and the only message I could read was a full screen of trash of sites offering gold/Powerlevelling for real money

it lets suspensions, mutings, and bannings be a democratic process, with GM's having the final say..

it's easy, it's fast, and it takes the minimum amount of time for the GM's to deal with.

Just setup a flagging option!!!

There is a much better solution that has already been proposed that does not require to creation of a Gestopo like force, and that is to implement a system that automatically kicks anyone spamming the same sentence over a period of time.
We really don't need an elite volunteer force of jack booted thugs running around reporting everything that they feel is in violation to some rule to the GMs.
It wouldn't just be confined to just spamming for very long.
If Fiesta is going to be turned into a virtual police state then I will refuse to have anything to do with it.
I trust that the GMs have more sense than to even consider such a over zealous approach to dealing with a problem that can easily be dealt with in a much more efficient and easier way.

But instead of banning rights, I wanted PK privileges to pound them into submission hehe. I wanted to be able to kill any bot or gold spammer on sight!
With the loss of Exp for them. A couple of roving patrols to cover the zones and a squad camped at each respawn spot to insta-kill them over and over again!!! muahahahahahaha

I like the idea of a 'police' or 'task force' for handling bots, spamming, and player problems.... however, if they are not directly hired by OUTSPARK there'll be a world of doubt and potential drama.

And Tam, we might have that already without really knowing what some are up to behind the scenes. (Conspiracy theories anyone?)

A mature and well respected player in the game who would volunteer. I'd say that they'd have an easier way of informing GMs or scammers and stuff, and they'd have muting powers for the spammers, but not banning.

If a volunteer actually turns corrupt and threatens to mute people and all, tsk tsk tsk. It won't be hard to get this creep rid of his/her volunteer powers, if the person getting threatened spreads it (or if not possible in-game, there's the forums)

I don't know.. i can't figure that one out myself.. sure there are bots.. but as soon as the bots are discovered the accounts are gone along with the money.

It doesn't seem to be something that would be profitable.

Well the GM's could recruit some lowerlvl gm's. They have only certain GM powers. Like gm lvl 99 is the highest gm lvl 80 is second then 60 is lowest. The higher you are the more power u get. I mean i think there should be a jail for all spammers to be sent to. I was a GM on Ragnarok ONline and jail was the one thing people hated. I was one of those people who went bot hunting and spam searching. I did a great job at it.(i think) One thing that could stop the spammers and that is IP banning them. Some people like me tho get a new ip every 4hrs. Umm but yes having lvls of gm's would be nice because the new people have enough to do their jobs but not enought ot take advantage of people. SO this is something to talk about. And if something like this does happen we could make a forum called banned, muted,jailed and we have to post a pic and name of who we did what to.

Don't you realize that every gold spammer sitting in a city endlessly spamming is just causing more lag. They are a pointless person who is not there to play the game, but profit from it instead. Ban them, Ban every last one of them. You could also removie the ability to spam altogether, that'd be even more to my liking. I don't see the point for it. If anything it's the source of incredible abuse. They're has never been one person on who was spamming that I was like, "Oh, I'm glad they were on spamming that constantly."

I think there should be a process where we have to capture a picture of them scammimng and then ban them or whatever. picture or maybe something that will show proof that theyve been scamming.

That process i just gave just dropped the script kiddy(kiddie is wrong. if you use ie there must be an s on the end i think, though i may be wrong). You wont have anyproblems if u have to see a screenshot first or something.

They will interview us through the IRC if necessary. I mean i did that for Ragnarok ONline and it worked very well. Not one problem. And if someone does ban someone for being stupid the gm can unban that account and ban the person who banned them.
