Cost fame for a Stack, and it be made from Stone or the other skill?

the only way u can get alch stone is from the female item npc in elderine and it cost 50 fame for a stack of 50(so its like 1 fame each) there is no other way to get them as i dont see monsters droping them and i dont think stone making skill can make it
