now ive played fiesta for a long time and ive finally decided to show outspark that someone knows that they are extremely greedy.

1st off most people want that good old 50% exp boost dont ya? well in order to get it we have to have 10% of silkypicos friends to send him a gift. sounds easy dont it? at the time of writing these silky pico has 4221 friends. 10% of that is 422 so that is 422 gifts that need to be gifted. not bad at all considering theres 4 thousand on that list. but one big problem

How to Participate:
Add GM_Silkypico to your friends list (if you haven't already).
Send GM_Silkypico any one of the following gifts from March 21st, 2009 - March 24th, 2009.

with them wanting to add more friends do you know what that means? lets add 800 more people to the friends list 5221 people now thats another 100 gifts that need to be made. the silky pico gifts for profiles cost around 525 sparkcash. now lets take a look at spark cash 3500 for 5$ lets divide this up
3500 divided by 5 is 700. so we can say 525 is roughly about 70-80 cents. USD of course. so 75 cents times 422 comes out to around 316.50$ USD hmmmm ok so 800 people add silkypico. uh oh need more gifts to reach 10 % so like i said before 800 more people comes out to 522 gifts total. so lets do instead 75 cents times 522 . total is 391.50 $ . thats 50 more dollars but wait what if people are to slow and 2000 more friend invites are done in a frantic hurry 7221 people now 541.50 $! so basicly the more friends that add silky and gift and just buying him his trip to disney world in florida. now just keep buying that spark cash : O mabye he wont have to pay for his food down there either.

PS. its not just this event that has the same outcome and i font feel like going thru all the little ways they make money besides remi's ill give ya a little insight on that.

incase you havent realized 70% of the things in remi's usually ends up in the store anyway so all them silly people who wanted roar, joker costume, weapon skins, it will be put in the store within the month. so why wast all your money on chance. just wait.

lol. you should look at the cake event too. it just begs for the gathering touch item to be bought, seeing as you can only get the happy seed from flowers, and they grow very little, except for the field in roumen, whick gets spammed with players and newbs killing the mons.

So negative.

Anyways, mate... the threshold is from my original starting number, 4155.

If you don't want to contribute, you don't have to. But when you get the EXP BOOST (which is already guaranteed minimum of +25%, you can thank those people in the game who actually do contribute).

Honestly none of the "extra" money goes to me. It goes to Outspark.

I bought my self a $325 guitar today (4th one) so you don't need to make false accusations.

May I remind you that the event counts for Solstice players too. So they are ALSO contributing.

Since that other guy says "if I want an EXP boost, i'll just buy an EXP card". This EXP boost is server wide and stacks on top of the card. It's just a bonus either way.

If you want to blame anyone for creating this event, or any EVENT in general, you can blame me.

Look at it this way, there's 200 people right now who contributed to the event. If you don't wanna participate, you don't have to.

Either way you're going to get an EXP boost. Your negativity on the event still gives you a positive outcome.

I can close this thread right now since you're persistent on harassing my staff and also ban your account for 7 days.

Thumbs up for being perceptive and smart enough to be able to argue your point well :) but:

It's not like we don't profit at all from this,it is a serverwide exp boost,it can stack with exp cards and non-sc users get a free exp boost, all for only 250sc,the fact that on a bigger scale outspark profits much more than expected from this doesn't matter to the average user because you'd rather spend a measly 250sc than 5.595sc:cool:.If you'd rather buy your own exp card and the way you talk about outspark makes you seem fanaticaly against.

I've seen the threads alot and i've noticed alot of users that have the same opinion but outspark has finaly got smart about it and this event is much nicer put and discreet(i remeber the vendor killing during boss event incident XC and the buy blessing of teva *sugestions*)

I think the new patch may be what all the sc advertising was leading to,there are all kind of speculations, one that i like to believe is that we will be split into 2 sides that we get to choose a certain lvl,and there will be function pvping new towns and such, there's also the new cap and housing feature

Reading all these stuff about profit and all i wondered... Isn't outspark a company?! Don't they all want money for what they give?! To me all i heard the OP complaining was that "They just want your money! So dont and dont and dont!" (p/s here : OP take a look at your sig you are full of premium stuff!!! FFS!) Anyways, i think that those events help a lot, cause they can just help a lot people that don't have any money to spent in games and it's good that there are still MMORPG's good enough as Fiesta that dont require a monthly subscription or so to play.

Happy B-day Silky, nice event and keep in mind i sent you my present even if i couldn't add you as a friend so i hope you give a good exp boost anyways!!! :D

I posted this in another thread, but I'm going to say it again here.

The GM event asks that out of 1 million+ possible users, only about 440 send a gift worth (at minimum 250sc) to Silkypico in honor of his birthday. In return both Fiesta and Solstice get an exp boost.

440x250=110,000. Now the 20% boost card in the Fiesta store is worth 2795 sc. So 110,000/2795= ~40 exp boost cars. Wheareas for the same amount they are offering (and at this point guaranteeing) a 25% increase for everyone.

How dare they...those greedy corporate monkeys >.>

For the record, you can receive SC for completing surveys and other offers now...so you don't even have to use your own money. You don't even have to participate in the event.

BTW, when you level faster because of the exp boost, remember to thank those who got it for you.

Hey klasd ^^ been a while since I've seen you o.o

I was going by the numbers on the front page:
Outspark Forums Statistics
Threads: 142,272, Posts: 1,579,641, Members: 1,385,386

No matter which number is correct, 440 people is a rather insignificant amount in comparison. Heck, I'll even pitch in my own SC so one less person doesn't have to 'waste' their sc on some 'stupid event'. Although I'm sure they'll take full advantage of the exp boost anyways.

I'm sorry. This is ridiculous.

Have you put any money into this event yet? If not, you're still getting an exp boost and as such you have no room to complain.

No one stands behind you and twists your wrists until you participate in an event. The players that choose to take part in this are kind enough to try and get an exp boost not just for themselves but for all of Fiesta and Solstice too.

Do you understand that you're complaining about an event that you don't have to take part in that still benefits you? Are you serious?

First players complain that there aren't enough events, and not everyone can participate.

Outspark puts in an event, makes it so that everyone, even non-sc users can benefit from it and you still complain.

I don't see how people can be so negative. I is an EVENT. I personally don't mind sending people i know a gift for their bday...and i don't get anything back. This way everyone benefits without everyone having to do something.

Personally i sent silky a present, because i think he is working hard enough to deserve one from me. you may deffer in opinion, but it is no reason to attack outspark. Without them, we wouldn't have such a great pass time. More money for outspark=potentially more gain for us as well.

You have a choice, so please be courteous to others and not attempt to make others feel bad for thinking sending a birthday present is a bad thing.

happy bday silky!

Not meaning to flame or anything.. But..

How is this event supposed to be fun? I don't understand.

I goes basically like this, right?:

*adds to friends list*

*gifts an item that costs a little SC*

And.. Then I'm supposed to be having fun, how?

I just don't get why this is supposed to be fun. I know people over at Outspark are trying to be creative and think of ways to make more money, since Fiesta is in the decline right now (yes, I've noticed a lot less activity on the servers and forums), but.. why is this event fun?

Make the game fun and people will enthusiastically support it. If the game itself isn't enough to keep enough players attracted and playing, then I imagine that if someone finds an event to be boring or as having the appearance of being greedy, then they will get bored and stop playing.

I'm not flaming here.. this is criticism. It's sort of the foundation of successful capitalism and democracy. (Kind of important, ya know?)

Also, wouldn't you agree that a person is more persuasive by being positive and leading by example here, rather than by threatening players in the name of Outspark? I know you're angry.. but.. that just seems to make things worse. :\

lol, dude you were just in Apo saying you were about to quit cos you sold a whole bunch of gears for silver instead of gold. I wouldn't be expecting you to be overly enthusiastic about anything Fiesta related right now.

You didn't have to buy anything. Again, it's free to play and it's free to simply say Happy Birthday. If, however, you have a bit of spare cash and you want to go a bit further with the congratulations, then by all means do so.

If you don't, it doesn't matter. You're still going to get an exp boost this coming weekend. How much of one depends on how many gifts are sent, that's about it. If you don't contribute, it doesn't matter. It's just a bit of fun.

Because everyone gets the prize. At the moment, I believe we are guaranteed 35% and getting close to a 50% boost on Teva. Solstice has a 60% boost all of next weekend. To players like me, who don't level that fast, thats exciting. For me personally, my goal is to hit 80 this weekend.

Its supposed to be about teamwork, and sharing. Much like the game itself. Your fellow community members donate a tiny amount of sc, and everyone benefits from their generosity.

Make the game fun and people will enthusiastically support it. If the game itself isn't enough to keep enough players attracted and playing, then I imagine that if someone finds an event to be boring or as having the appearance of being greedy, then they will get bored and stop playing.

Check my pst history, you'll see that numberwise Outspark is being a great deal less greedy than a lot of players are making them out to be.

I'm not flaming here.. this is criticism. It's sort of the foundation of successful capitalism and democracy. (Kind of important, ya know?)

The ability to speak ones mind and opinions in a civilized manner is certainly important, and no one here will stop you from doing so :)

Also, wouldn't you agree that a person is more persuasive by being positive and leading by example here, rather than by threatening players in the name of Outspark? I know you're angry.. but.. that just seems to make things worse. :\

Yes, being positive is generally a much, much better answer. In terms of leading by example, I already participated in the event. Not because I feel obligated to, but because I'd like to see everyone get an exp boost, even those who don't often get to have sc.

However, I am not and never have threatened anyone in the name of Outspark. I have not threatened to close the thread, and I have not threatened to have individual players punished. If Silky has done so, it is addressed to a player who has done nothing but harass him and his staff. What my posts in this thread reflect is frustration at a community that feels OS is never good enough, no matter how hard they work. It is my frustration that OS puts out an event that not everyone has to participate in, but at the same time still benefits everyone and yet others complain that its pure greed. It is my frustration that the entire community seems to one to blame one OS staff member for their problems when thats simply not the case. It is my frustration at the lack of appreciation for anything Outspark does anymore.

These people work really hard and they aren't just dealing with the game. Remember that on top of patches and updates they have an art team working on new profile stickers for you to give to your friends, or for a website that counts down to a fun event. They have a team to answer your questions and route through your reports day in and day out. They communicate with the licensors in order to try and get you new content faster. They do so much and no one thanks them.

That is why I got angry, and my post wasn't me talking from a CL standpoint, that was my opinion as a player, as a community member, and as someone who's been here for a while.

I gifted Silky something. There are a lot of players in this game that I have enjoyed PT with or have helped me out in one form or another. Way too many to gift something to each. My hope was to give back to those players, even if only a little bit. I look at it like it is a Party, and all involved play small roles adding up to one goal.

poor silky ~ give him a break guys...

soo negative. He's nice enough to give us exp boost on his birthday when he doesn't have too. Be thankful ~

The way I see it is this... Event or no event, people are still going to send silky a birthday gift because one, its his birthyday xD , second, there are people who enjoys and loves gifting their friends as a show of appreciation and thanks. Since its his birthday, people see it as a perfect chance to show their appreciation.

Now, my point is that Silky could have just stayed quiet, and receive those gifts (since its a gift... one is not required to reciprocate ) but instead, he made it into an event wherein we could all benefit.

I'm currently short of sc but I really really want to send silky a gift to show my appreciation. Hopefully, I can replenish my sc before the event ends (hitting 2 birds with one stone kinda-thing... show appreciation to silky and contributing to this event) ^^

p.s.HAPPY BIRTHDAY silky :)

With all due respect, it's his right to complain, about any subject he so desires, as long as ToS is not violated, and you're in no position to criticize him for doing so. He can rant about the GM just as much as you can rant about his complaint. Peace =)

Hmm.. I get the event.. Isn't it an old old tradition to gift people stuff on their bday? If people already added Silky to their frieds, its just nice of em to buy him a gift.. Since ur consider him ur friend right?

Percentage is also going up if people that have Silky in their FL would delete him if they are not willing to buy him a gift... ;)
I think Silky is nice, but I don't think Silky knows all his friend anyway.. :o

Peace:cool:

You, are talking with double standards, when the person I've quoted expressed herself with such blasphemy as to force pro-OS ideas onto the individual. To "say something back" with rhetoric aimed at belittling the individual doesn't constitue a proper way of communicating.

He can rant about the GM just as much as you can rant about his complaint.

I don't think I need to tell you to "read". =) Just in case you still don't get it, I've already lended credence.

you have no room to complain.

Lol? Who has no right in this FREE nation again?

Do you understand that you're complaining about an event that you don't have to take part in that still benefits you? Are you serious?

Are these really questions?

Outspark puts in an event, makes it so that everyone, even non-sc users can benefit from it and you still complain.

Yeah, the bold to single him out really does "say something"

Make it simple, there are OS-huggers and there are those that do not like them 100%, just because you're on opposite sides doesn't give you the right to force your ideas on them. Not to mention, this person never did complain about OS to begin with. He/she made a comment regarding the association of Sparkcash and events.

If I were to borrow your way of speaking, then it'd be like this:

Oh I get it, just because he/she doesn't like the idea of most events having SC involved, he/she doesn't have any rights to speak freely about it.

Eh, I gave silky a cashless gift...a happy b-day post now somewhere lost in the back pages of his comments. And a hug in-game when he least expected it. >.o

Anyhow...

He needs about 422 gifts right? and (correct me if I'm wrong) about 700sc = $1.00 US. So 250sc is about $0.36. So Outspark makes a minimum profit of....$150.71

...That's not much...

It's not the money, but the way of doing it...

A year ago, we would have exp boost every few weeks, free of charge.

Now, we have to pay for it ? ._.

c'mon guys no love for silky?? I think next to Dakkon he is my favorite ^_^. Hope you have a wonderful B-Day silky

I miss Dakkon. no GM will ever compare to him. GM's nowadays don't hang out with the players.
