Weapons with weapon skins tradable?

basically im wondering if i could give my friend a staff and he/she puts
a weapon skin on it for me could they then trade it back to me?

No. And you cannot unequip the weapon if you have the skin on. That might be useful in Dragon's Tomb where the bosses knock your weapon off. XD

EDIT: I'm told you can take your weapon off if you're switching to another weapon. However, your skin still shows on the newly equipped weapon. Example: Switching from your staff to the Invincible Hammer, the hammer would look like your skinned staff.

Skins are just like cs suits and ig armour if you like, separate. And i can take my wep off, and the skin still shows...

So, does anyone know if the skin is transferable to your next weapon?
Example, say I'm a level 39 cleric and I put on a skin (better to say I put the skin on my 30 hammer?). Then, I level up to 40, and want to wield a level 40 weap. Assuming they're both hammers (rather than a 3x hammer to a 4x mace) will the skin transfer to the new equip?
