View Full Version : Idea for Xens

I'm not sure if someone has already suggested this, but here i go. Everyone hates how xens range from 5-8 million right? Well, I think that is because there is only ONE type of xen in the game. My idea is to add many different types of xen. These xens would be specialized. There would be sword xens, which only work on swords, fighter armor xens, which only work on fighter type armors, you see where I'm going with this? Now there would still be the all-around xen that we currently have, but I'd like to add more of a twist to it. There would be a non-decaying xen, which if fails, your item WILL not degrade. There would be a +2 Xen as well, but of course that would be quite rare. Also, probably the most expensive, would be the double success rate xen. Please comment on this idea (especially if someone has come up with it already, and if someone has, please be nice about it).

Not a bad thought...a bit specialized for my taste, though^^. I'd rather see a better success rate as opposed to different xen, but the idea of having different kinds of xen is pretty cool. They could even make them different color(I'm pretty sure that Xenepic has yellow xens as well as red ones).

if the chance for a xen to drop did not increase, you would be making things worse by doing this.
a xen for each class's weapon and a xen for each class's armor would mean 12 different types of
your individualized xens....same chance to drop a xen stone = 1/12 chance of your class's armor xen dropping....

if you want to make squire "armor xens" cost 50 million a piece then this sounds like a great idea

Mm... specialized xen stones...

I don't think the drop rate for the current xens has to be adjusted (might have to be temporarily, just not permanently), but something has to be done about the people hoarding xens. I heard someone had hundreds in their possession and not being used... no wonder they don't drop. -_-;

If all the specialized xens dropped at the same rate, after the initial ZOMG-NEW-ITEM price hike effect (like with St. Patty's charms; blasted things were 300,000 kron per piece and now they're worth negative kron), people would start trading their armor xens for sword xens, maybe with slight differences in price. (Maybe I'm being too optimistic though.)

Of course, before this can be implemented, we need to fix the current xen success rate. I find it ridiculous to see the Refinery Quest have close to 50-70% success rate but real xens have 20-40% success rate. No wonder xens are no longer enhancement jewels and are now currency. -_-;

the xen enhancement are different on the quest and real because, u have a better % to get a sucess if its 0/1/4 ap than a 6ap
my +5/4ap cane only failed once, but my +4/6ap armor failed like 3 times..

why not sell gears at SC??...is it possible.. so that the kron super over pricing will soon be gone...
---and these krons are hard to get too.....
---and please increase drop rate from high level mobbs? like tinies instead of weak ones?....

so the ppl who can afford lots of sc in real life would be capable of buying gears to trade for cash/xens/othergears in game?
naah this would ruin this game i think

This is just speculation and nothing more than hypothesis.
Show us the hard evidence to support your claim before acting like you know what's going on.
As far as we can tell, the enhance rate is RANDOM.

CASE IN POINT: I tried to enhance my Challenge Gloves +5ap6 to +6ap6, and spent well over 200 Xens in the process. After acquiring my new Achievement Gloves and enhancing them to +5ap6, I got them to +6ap6 with JUST ONE XEN STONE!

On top of that I have done the same thing with my Shield of Defiance, Shield of Achievement, Helmet of Achievement, Armor of Challenge AND Helmet of Challenge, all without really trying, and though I do not have "proof" to support this, you can inspect me at any time to see what I am wearing, and believe me, I do not have hundreds of Xen Stones.

SUPER DUPPER EHNANCE the xen drop... i guess thats the only way to fix the economy... because xen stones are so much in demand.. it is super overprice.. just like the law of supply and demand... xen drops are really rare.. (as they are supposed to).. but the demand for them to add aps to the gears are so high so they tend to be so pricey.... u think its possible to increase the xen drop for at least idk.. a month or so.. or for lifetime.. in that way.. the supply will be greater than those demanded.. in which relatively lowers the price of xens and gears... mmm am i having any point here????... wat do you think?

look at the first sentence, and i'm sorry, I didn't know if anyone had suggested this. Obviously, for this to work, the drop rate for xens would have to increase. And if you didn't get the type of xen you needed, you could trade for it to someone who needs your xen.

I have been told in xenepic there are other ways of enhancing gear than xens, which is what some of the npc's like the other guys in the bryn blacksmith shop are there for. Don't personally know this to be true, but what else would the weaponsmith and armor smith do so it makes sense. Maybe there is already something similar to this on the horizon. For awhile we were getting xens added to the game through events, but after the last pox, I don't know if that will happen again. People got to taking it for granted and became very greedy. I would like to see an increase in xen drop rate for a month or so too, but not sure that will help the economy, it seems lately instead of lowering in price, they just become the currency of the game when they become less rare.
