GM's are just nerds like us.. nothing special.
people treat GM's like movie stars.. i think it has to do with the power they have..
everyone WANTS to be the GM's friend.

I stand behind the wave of lag and talk to Steam like usual. Or ask questions about game ideas coming in the future. Simple as that - and we have a good laugh sometimes.
If no response comes - I sit down and be bored as usual.

The first word that came into my head was "celebrity" when I saw a GM, everyone just wants to be next to them, befriend them, etc. I can't even walk whenever a GM is in town. = (

He's the first GM I've ever seen more than once in a game. They're usually invisible or rumored to be non-existant in the games I've played, so of course I'd gawk as a first reaction.
But as a later reaction? Nah. He said himself it'd be better if I just asked him on the forums to weed out the worthless comments. =)

When I see a GM ingame, no comment. No thoughts. No reaction, no nothing. Just a fellow player like me with higher responsibility.

I think people who suck up to the GMs and herd around them should be thrown in prison if they even say the slighest amount of bootlicking or begging phrases.
I can pity them because I've been an EverQuest Guide, long ago, and I remember the words of my Senior Guide tutor quite well:
"You can go outside the Guide Island if you want, sure. But then I don't guarantee you'll come back with all of your sanity unless you turn off your chat windows."

I think little of the matter. Sure I may treat them with respectfully as I would a close personal friend but they are fair game for my rules. I do not insult them unless I can do it subtly, and without letting them know their feelings should be hurt. I would also correct them whenever possible. One time I even debated with Steam that the egg did come first.

GMs are people too, although they have patience in abundance to deal with so many people constantly bugging them any time they are in-game. My vote... let them breathe a bit, it's more fun when they can actually do stuff other than fend off 100 buddy list/group invites.

I usually want to see what new thing the GM is wearing or riding. I usually say hi and then leave. Staying around and staring is so boring.

I don't care much about GMs unless they usurp their power and let their god-like status go to their head. I've seen GMs newb-kill, ban people that confronted them about their misbehaviour and make high level monsters spawn in newbie areas just for laughs, and their boot licking cult followers laugh along with them and the pretty, real life girls trade webcam favours for favours in-game.
I, for one, can't stand GM worship but I can't do anything about that since I can't do anything about celebrity worship either, but it irks me whenever I see regular characters spam and they get cussed out by other gamers but when GMs spam it's oh so funny.
I've never seen the GMs here abuse their power but I'm watching them closely because I'm not afraid of them. They are human beings just like me and if they ban or delete my account it's no skin off my back.

When you have GMs that regularly interact with the populace, then of course people will flock out of curiousity, bootlicking, get an immediate answer to something, aniticipate an event, or whatever their reason may be. I agree with what was mentioned of the 'celebrity' status and people wanting to say or feel 'they were there' to witness it. I think as long as the worship doesn't hinder the GM from doing their job or the rules are being bended then it's something to not really concern myself about.
Now as far as what was brought up about the worship going to their head. They say absolute power corrupts absolutely, but I think that isn't the case here. If the forums were to close or constructive criticism posts were to 'disappear' this would be taking away our source of information, empowerment, and ability to give feedback. Then I'd be concerned if there's GM pets (or 'the Fiesta Gestapo') running around.

GMs are just players who put more into the game than the actives. But still, so many people shouldn't be going around the GM to continue to lag the game, it's bad enough. I figure, if they're there, they're there to enjoy the game (which is probably why they have mule accounts, though). So let them enjoy it instead of spamming them with questions. I don't know, one GM on another game I know, he said he liked questions--but I wouldn't know why, I mean so many questions, most of the time questions that can't be answered due to their status. "What is a new item coming out, new event" 'you'll find out when it comes.'

"Scary weapons."
Seriously. I don't want to get hit with one of their big shiny ohsopowerful weapons. xD
And I think people should give them spacee. Poor GM's get mobbed wherever they go.

That wouldn't solve it though. Most people who bug GM's WANT to go to prison and see what it's like. No point in that

I like to see what gear/hair/fancy stuff they have ONCE.. though I noticed a couple of em change up their stuff :) And 'some' GMs are known to spawn nasty critters sooooo.... ;)

The first time I noticed a GM was when Kaalan was yelling that he's spawning treasure boxes all over town. Apparently all he spawned was lag causing monsters and a dragon, which killed everyone in town, repeatedly. And then asking a player if he was dropped on his head at birth.
My first impression of Kaalan was, heh I've seen better.

Slightly difficult with hundreds of monsters spawning over your corpse, incredible lag?

I have a picture of [GM]Steam =3
My first impression (and mind you this was about two hours before the patch on Apoline) was, "Wow finally I see a GM, cool." That was it I took my picture and then went to go eat. I didn't race over and stay there, and the surprise for me was that there wasn't even a mob either.
Other then that I was very impressed by the look of the GM's it is so pretty. I can't wait to see the others. One of these times I might even get to chat with them. ^^
