I had a problem of choosing between an archer and a mage.... well it all depends, would you rather focus your skills on intellect and Spirit or Dexterity and Spirit??

I guess The archers are better in my eyes, becasue they are the closest thing to a rogue in this game...

I'm bias but I'll contribute anyway. I think the Archer is better for me. I prefer the Bow and Arrow as a weapon, and I love the outfits that we can get as archers. I have a mage as well, but I don't use her alot. I don't know, when it comes right down to it, its pretty close and archer squeeks by.

in my opinion the mages are better cause the archers may have faster attacks but depending on skill mages have high m.damage or atleast mine does

mages are better at lower lvls, but at higher lvls an archer can out dps most mages the same lvl, and also archers get the aoe poison skill. which just pwns anyway. ^^

For me Mage. You can give all points in INT and SPR (or one of them) and don't bother with anything else, with Archer you have to wonder what to do.

for me i would do a mage. the reason why is because i love to things that have to do with casting spells. A reason other ppl do archers is because they want to do something like guns just with arrows.

yo i got to go with ever one else mages kick some serious *** i mean i can see why people like rangers but they can not defend them selves to well where the mages can cast wards around them and there team mates to protect them so i say mage all the way baby. even though i will must likely end up melle lmfao:p:p

I'd say mage, just because archers are currently broken (imo anyway).

Archer poison damage doesn't stack. Meaning that two archers can't each have the same poison up... one overwrites the other. Mages all do direct damage, so spells don't overwrite (except for certain debuffs like movement impairing, but that's moot for group play).

I hear that high end archers pull out the damage, but currently, I'm disappointed in how archer damage is implimented, as anything more than 1 or 2 archers is overkill.

Play an Archer. Don't cramp our style. The only reason most people even touch a Mage is because of all the damage it does. But 90% of them won't even make it past level 30. Why? Because its a hard class to play and requires tactical thinking, a lot of patience, and you constantly have to spam spells. The only advantage we have over the other classes is being able to do more damage than them. But that doesn't always help when the mob you fight takes 10 or more spells to take down. After about level 20 soloing becomes almost impossible and you basically have to rely on everyone to get quests done. Once you get really high leveled, then it gets slightly easier. But Mages still need to be improved on with damage, cool down time, etc. Anyways, just go with an Archer. I'd rather not see someone else waste their time trying to be a Mage.

i think either is good but i prefere a mage because i like casting only it meakes mee sad that theyr equipment is so no stylish and mages do more damage than archers for mee it is beter than poisoning

Archers aoe posion skill is good, though mages get a better one, called inferno, and frost nova, they do damage over time like posion and its aoe too, and it will do more damage than the archers, i perfer a mage.

I'll tell you what, I love my mage! But after seeing my friends archer, I bet he will be out dmging me very soon.

How ever i think in the higher lvls 50+ the mage will be back on top with the better spells. At the mid lvls most mages are useing tir 1 mm and firebolt.
This is fine cause u save SP but your extra dmg is lil to non.

WHO knows tho.... I vote Mudkips, best class IMO!

Does it really matter which 1 hits higher?
All the damage your assuming is based on what you hit on monsters!
Archers have the major advantage here, mages have the absolute suckiest defense in the game, and archers have naturally high magic defense.
So in the long run all of you mages hit about 1/3 on archers as what you hit on monsters, while us archers just pound the hell out of you with powerful shots and skills. Trust me its a quick kill!

mages al the way baby i must say after training all classes my archer is the 1 still lagging because of his abilitiesdon get me wrong if u train a character from scratch adding stat reset points to the right stat can lead to a deadly run then attack run then attck again kinda archer haha

I'm in the process of making a powerful archer, and currently I have no need to party with anyone. I only party in KQ, or with my friends. Full dex was my choice, and I'm sticking to it, and since most of the other classes never focus on these I never have to worry in a GW, I can dodge almost everything.
Now for the time being I much prefer the archer class, much easier to train due to hit ratio, and much more fun because of the skills.

However down the road, mages do get powerful spells, but then you forget, so do archers. Every class has a strong point, and a low point.

Fighter - High strength, and defense ~ low mage defense, and dexterity
Cleric - High defense, and mage defense ~ low strength
Mage - High SP, and damage ~ High SP consumption, low dexterity, and low defense
Archer - High dexterity, and moderate mage defense ~ low-moderate strength, and defense

When you factor all this in, and realize that archers have an extremely high hit ratio when raised properly, and high evasion naturally, they could easily take out a mage.

It's a matter of choice/opinion really..

I didn't have a hard time choosing between the two because i really like mages. I also like the mages different spell animations, it's just so colorful. Though I'm planning to make an archer eventually just to try it out and to take a breather from playing my mage.

archers are great dmg dealers until lvl 20+.mages are great throughout the entire game.so mages i would prefer if your gonna be playing this game daily.and you know you can just make both.

MAGE WOOT WOOT, seriously. I am a mage-guy. I enjoy the range, power and killer looking tech's of a mage. Also when Pvp(player vs player also know as pk player kill) area is ready( the Korean Fiesta has pvp area already) i know that mages will OWN in thier. A mage cleric combo is un beatable. A mage can use all of its mp, wipe out life spark get all sp back and have a cleric heal them. It's a brillant plan. Also AoE is really good. Hey if u still can't decide flip a coin. Thats how i solve life's greatest chocies.

Mages also get the aoe overtime damage skill, frost nova, and inferno. The mages over time damage skill i think it is better becuase it does more damage than the archers.

Personally, I like mages better,because I like to hit everytime I want to cast a spell. This way I feel that I DO kill the monster by myself not by my character. However, in the case of archers, fighters, clerics you just double-click the monster and wait for the battle to finish, which seems to me extremely dull. But that's just me.
