BOT REPORTING LIST (Please Sticky)

Okies, ive only been playing Fiesta for about 2 weeks but have been playing mmorpgs for over 13 years. After my 2nd week I once again see a new game thats being totally ruined by bots (individuals using programs to play their chars instead of playing it themselves).

I would like to see this post stickied so that players can start submitting people suspected of "botting". I would suggest to the GMs that they implement a fixed procedure for reporting such players.

I would also suggest that the GMs look into this as a matter of urgency sooner rather than later, game updates, quests, events, cash shop etc etc are a secondary matter as without a faithful player base the above mentioned are almost irrelevant. I am sure you all know games you WONT play due to hacks, bots and exploits.

I would also like to report the following individuals who I know for a fact are using a botting program:

(I have only just started collecting names and will forward them to this post daily), I will also repost this daily if its not stickied. I like Fiesta and its a very pleasant game to play, but has some serious problems ranging from spammers, hackers and botters. I dont want to see a good format ruined by a bunch of cheating idiots who look to ruin things for the majority.

GMs, a note to you too, if you need ingame moderators please contact me ingame and I will discuss some things you can implement to offer a player operated reporting system. It has been mentioned in other posts offering players certain "powers". This is not nessesary, there are other easier and simpler ways that doesnt require rescripting certain accounts.

GM's accounts don't even need recripting in some games. ^^ Just extra/edited files.

Ok bots don't talk. That is one way to find out if they are a bot. Another thing to do is make a random bot check. If there is a suspected bot it warps you to an npc. You must talk to the npc and answer a question. The question can be simple. But if you do not answer it right 3 times or don't answer withing the time limit you are banned. IF you get it right you will be spawned where you were interupted from.

And as i said if there is a suspection of a bot you will be automatically transported to the room where u talk to the npc. IF you try and log out you will be banned. If you can prove that you were d/c then that is a diff story. Like a SS of saying You have been disconnected from server.

Bots move as if they were human controlled though. So a bot can talk to an NPC.

it might be able to move but it cannot click on npc's. It isn't told to do so. It is only told to lvl and collect items. Bots wonder looking for monsters to kill. IF it were by an NPC it would just wonder aimlessly with nothing to do.

Gates are triggered by clicking them, how is a bot able to do that if what you say is true? I see bots going in and out of gates.

i have yet to see a bot go through a gate. If they can then it is in their programming. But if botters didn't know about the npc i am talking about they can't program it to do so. Bots are programs. They only do what they are told. They must have been told to go to a certain place. IF they go somewhere outside their programing they usually can't do anything. But if you make a good point. My idea could potentually work. I just need to figure out more about these bots. I used to have the jail thing for ragnarok online. THis game might be a bit more tricky.

if a bot can be programmed to hunt for mobs and collect items it can be programmed to click on an npc. a bot can be programmed to do anything you can do manually. there is no automatic way to fix the bot problem. it all has to be done by GM's and players reporting them.

GM's running Ultima online servers had a random macro check the GM's could issue to catch people skill leveling/material farming with macro's while they sleep (kind of like botting). having a small window popup whenever they want and whoever didnt answer the question right would be immediately jailed, or if it was never answered. but something like that wont work with all the people that afk these days.

and these bots here are not only programmed to collect items and sell them, they are also the same people who sit in town and constantly spam gold websites and powerleveling services. i thought WoW was bad, until i started playing this game. its almost sad that you cant even talk to people in town without filtering normal text and chatting into whispers. if anything will make people not want to play its the lack of GM intervention in town for 5 minutes to get rid of the spammers.

Oh yea I have been trying to figure out the report button. IT specificly says from spamming or foul language. Why doesn't it say botting and KS'ing. Yes it can be programmed to click on that npc. But since the person is botting he will be banned before he realizes the npc. He won't be able to program the npc if it is unannounced that there is a new npc. SO he will be banned and he can't bot ever again. Unless new account

they way they do that is simple, for the most part. you have a auto clicker, i believe they go by another name else where on the net. it records your actions on the keyboard and the mouse, you type something, like the auto shouts that come from those people offering fiesta money for real money on other sites and such... which i really do frown upon, you'll ruin the games rep if they allow people to do that, especially while the bots saying it are RIGHT NEXT TO THE STORAGE ROOM... argh.

but the main problem is that they can open doors and the like, even talk to some npcs because they key buttons are pressed, and if they play the game long enough, while the programming is still recording the buttons used, they can find, attack enemies even use special moves, hit auto collect 3, 5 times, hit tab, find another enemy, hit 1 for auto attack, use special moves, click 2, and then walk back to the storage area to dump the spoils after a certain amount of time, clicking the pop up window, and clicking the button that says yes to transport. but then may just wait for another trip back to the area unless someone guides the bot back.

i've seen it done in many a game on other sites, hence why i no longer play on them. its a lousy way to ruin a game, especially when said bots are simply doing it to level other peoples characters up for money, or better yet, just taking the passwords and selling them on other sites. you really want to complain about bots, complain about the ones that are offering to level your character for you, for money, you'll pay them, you'll give them your outspark password, and then their rob your character blind, change your password, and sell your high level characters to someone else.
