Angels and Demon Set-aka Disappointment 2009

Its really pathetic that this one week wait was for SC items (expensive time limited ones). Its even more pathetic that we predicted it. I think everyone would have been happier if the Angel set and Demon set were permanent. Of course, the price would be around 12.5K SC, but thats definitely worth it. 30days is just a stint in time.
Regardless the event just started so we should see whats coming next.

The event Idea is pretty sweet, and my deductive reasoning leads me to believe that even though the opening was lack luster, the climax will reside in our minds for years. I never thought i'd be able to fight in pseudo biblical apocalypse (real or digital), and i can't w8 to lay down the law in the final battle. Its a slow start to armaggedon, but even revelations has a calm before the storm.

The first 1/4 of the year is swiftly nearing an end, and so far all I see is cash shop cash shop cash shop. I guess we must wait another 2 weeks before we can truly feel disappointed--that's if Part III is another CS ho countdown, if Part III is what we want, then fricking finally, I just don't see why we have to be suckered with more cash shop crap before we get it though.

At the end of the day, just a countdown timer to SC items, probably new SC items next week, and part III probably an event that requires you to have purchased one of the previous weeks SC items.

Probably be an SC event as well, requiring me to use SC to attend, as well as purchasing a set of wings.

silky himself stated that there is a launch process to the new cap raise, and like the previous ones, it will include an extension to the story of isya, as that is what the game is all about after all. it was clearly stated in other threads that the cap raise wouldn't be happening this week, but that the process of raising it would happen in the "first quarter" of the year - and anyone who doesn't read that as the last possible week before the end of the first quarter needs to pass 3rd grade.

it seemed very obvious that in a THREE PART launch process, a process named "angels and demons" and coupled with a cap raise, that the first one would be relevant to the Angels, and next week it will be relevant to the Demons, and after that, chances are, if you actually read the story, it will tie into all the new monsters and maps arriving in the cap raise.

i could be wrong - it's happeend before, many times - it's my take on things - and i still can't believe how selfish you players get about the marketing strategies of a company that goes out of their way to provide you with a game that's FREE to play. noone is forcing you to buy these angels outfits, just like noone forces you to buy anything at all from the cash shop - it's completely voluntary - so if you're not going to buy something, just don't buy it, don't sit there and whine and complain that they advertise their wares, which are, after all, the ONLY way they get income to pay all the staff, the software licensing and to get the game that you play every day FOR FREE!!!

these forums are getting worse and worse with nothing but silly complaints about things that are not that important and have no bearing on anything in the game. i miss the days when there was friendly banter on the forums, it's just so rare now. if you hate the game so much, why are you still playing? maybe if you left, the other thousands of people that actually enjoy it can enjoy it in peace.

Considering there are many times in the game you get xp cards for free, it must be something bigger and better. Few things are big enough to require a countdown, New years... This update should be as big as new years for Fiesta :P

personally, i don't think the cap raise will be part of angels and demons, chapter 5 of the story. maybe it's a new server since the story points to 5 gods/goddesses, 4 were created by legal when he fell from power. who knows. i wouldn't automatically think 'cap raise' when reading the story.

Spooky you got a point with the spark cash advertisement, but, OS got REALLY greedy. half a year ago a 15% suit was 1.5k spark cash, now they expect that big 4-5k from you, and ever since the day Dakkon left, all they've done is talk about their spark cash items and how you should buy them and what they recommend from the cash shop. I might feel differently if the cash shop still had cheaper items worth buying, but, it doesn't, and if you payed attention the last oh 30 updates have been for cash shop. (that might be a slight exaggeration, but not by much...) And some people might agree with me here, It's annoying and it makes OS look like a fail company obsessed with money. (The money part is true, they don't fail... YET.)

lol from the moment they started this angels and demons thing....i knew it was about an sc item(honestly, it was no surprise) all i see now are differnt sc items being released.
and also, if the angel set was to be permanent, it would cost a heck of alot more thank 6k...i think for OS, 6k is pretty cheap

bread use to cost 3 n 6 pence a while ago, it's like a pound or more now

that's how the world goes - i run server farms, i know first hand how much it costs to keep something as bandwidth heavy as fiesta online - they have many thousands of people logging on every day - and it's a true corporate sturcture of a company, not just some kid in a basement, that's a lot of people to pay - and people in this industry aren't cheap - then there's the licenses from OoS for the game itself, not t omention the other games, who's to say they didn't turn round and double the license fee 6 months ago?

i suppose the point i'm making is, everywhere, no matter where you go, prices go up and up and up, sometimes they go down, but usually only after they went up a lot first (points at gas prices), and they rarely go back to the old nubmers. i used to buy a 10p snickers when i was at school (granted, they were called marathons back then, i'm not young), but i'm lucky if i get change from a pound these days.

sparkcash will always go up in price - it's capitalism at it's best. for one, they have to pay everyone and for all the hardward, and probably for all the therapy the people who are in contact with the public have to get after talking to some unthankful people out there. but as i always say - they could charge a million sc for something, if someone buys it, they made a sale - but buying this voluntary - it's very easy and very possible to play most aspects of the game without spending a penny. if you think you're paying too much for something, you buy a cheaper one - however, if it's quality and you enjoy it, sometimes it's worth paying.

i'm sure if i tried hard enough, i could buy me a computer for $50, but if i wanted to play fiesta on it, wouldn't it be worth the $500 for a better one? it's all about personal choices - if it were a subscription that kept going up in price, i'd agree with you 100%, i totally would - but it's not. you either buy stuff or you don't. i do - i don't buy charms or extenders or all that poo, i buy stuff to make me look pretty - and i plan on buying eyes/miles cause i want my helgait to be all shiny and i dno't trust even my best friend to do that, lols - but i budget myself - i will only spend $xx a month - if i see something i like, but i have no sc, tough, i go without - if i see something i like and i have money in the account, woohoo - i'm a kittenish type thing with a kinda of tail thing coming out my bum (or, indeed, to retain topic even slightly, an angel with some kind of feather helmet, which i'm sure is very protective, as feathers are)

if you're gonna complain about the economy, or how things cost more, you really have to look at the grand scheme of things. everything, everywhere costs more - fiesta isn't an all in one package, they have many costs with many service providers and suppliers, all of which go up i'm sure. and the mere fact that they are still in business, and growing, and growing, and actively adveritisng for more people to join the game, and expanding the game, and bringing in new gm's to help with the work load, and hinting at the new server - it has to be said that the bast majority of people don't care that prices went up, just like i'll still buy luxury items at safeway, despite them being a tad more expensive than they used to be - it's just life.

we all (not aimed at you personally, cause i used the word all, lols) need to stop with all the complaining about things that are out of everyones control, and just report genuine issues with the game, or build a nice, friendly, strong community, for a game that is all about teamwork and parties and friends and community. all this bickering about tiny, silly, insignificant things puts a damper on those that just want to enjoy, and it really needs to stop.

there are issues, there are problems, there are bugs, and there are ways of making them public, or reporting them, or asking if other people have similar issues if only to know it's not a problem at your end - but threads like this one were designed 100% to poke a negative aspect of a small group of people's personal opinion in a manner to make it argumentative from post 1. it wasn't intended as a genuine discussion to try to guess what else is coming up, or to ask for people's viewpoints - the title itself points at negativity - and it spoils it for those of us that enjoy the game, enjoy meeitng new friends, and make us want to walk away because that ultimate problem always come up - "drama"

Let's not judge the whole Angels and Demons thing by Part I (as disappointing as Part I is). And xlearly Part II is the release of more SC items (the Demon Set).

Bbbbuuuuttt, let's wait and see what Part III is before we bury OS alive.

And yes, for such anticipation to be created with the timer, only to have it end with the release of a Spark Cash costume, is extremely anticlimactic. I'm positive even the OS officials realize this, though they're probably not allowed to publicly admit it.

so i took time off from posting on these forums, but kept up with things, and it still amazes me just how short sighted, and downright stupid people are.

if you stop focussing on yourselves and your own personal life issues, you'll see exactly what it's all about. reading what the gm's say on the subject helps too.

silky himself stated that there is a launch process to the new cap raise, and like the previous ones, it will include an extension to the story of isya, as that is what the game is all about after all. it was clearly stated in other threads that the cap raise wouldn't be happening this week, but that the process of raising it would happen in the "first quarter" of the year - and anyone who doesn't read that as the last possible week before the end of the first quarter needs to pass 3rd grade.

it seemed very obvious that in a THREE PART launch process, a process named "angels and demons" and coupled with a cap raise, that the first one would be relevant to the Angels, and next week it will be relevant to the Demons, and after that, chances are, if you actually read the story, it will tie into all the new monsters and maps arriving in the cap raise.

i could be wrong - it's happeend before, many times - it's my take on things - and i still can't believe how selfish you players get about the marketing strategies of a company that goes out of their way to provide you with a game that's FREE to play. noone is forcing you to buy these angels outfits, just like noone forces you to buy anything at all from the cash shop - it's completely voluntary - so if you're not going to buy something, just don't buy it, don't sit there and whine and complain that they advertise their wares, which are, after all, the ONLY way they get income to pay all the staff, the software licensing and to get the game that you play every day FOR FREE!!!

these forums are getting worse and worse with nothing but silly complaints about things that are not that important and have no bearing on anything in the game. i miss the days when there was friendly banter on the forums, it's just so rare now. if you hate the game so much, why are you still playing? maybe if you left, the other thousands of people that actually enjoy it can enjoy it in peace.

(The timer was really unnecessary, kept many of us awake and irked the CHEESECAKE out of me, and when it was an SC ITEM...it felt like my 1 year+ of playing was rewarded with a kick in the face, a punch in the gut, a whack down my head. You get the picture.)

I think i'm the only one around here curious to see the event xD, but i'm also waiting to see the whole Angels vs. Demons plan. Not complaining in my mind yet. Yeah i usually get over something quickly and learn to deal with whatever it is. One thing i noticed through some posts on different topics is the complaint of events being based on SC items, but yet the players ask for fabulous prizes that you don't normally find in the game (which would lead to SC items xD ). I know it would have been nice and would have felt more meaningful, but hey if you find the GMs' events unsatisfactory after all, maybe we could try making our own small private in-game events. ^.^ After all the community is the largest part that makes the game Fiesta.

If in the end the Angels vs Demons thing turns out to be more of a SC promotion event i'll probably get over it. I'll be a bit sad at first but then on with my life. Though even if i did have SC, which i want to but i hate the stupid reference code, the angel set wouldn't have been on my top 5 list. (even if it was the price of a normal costume) But i did see the first pair of wings like 5 min after the release and heard of another couple having them at about the same time. O.o On a more random and amusing note: I recently discovered how wrong it is to use dance 5 in the lvl 20 cleric skirt (the short blue one). ^.^

And I have no doubt that after all the events, they will more than likely make the sets permanent.

which i can never participate in anyway. i can't even go into eld while its on because it lags so horribly badly for me... of i could put in a sensible request to the outspark team? maybe stop holding such events in the middle of what should be a safe town... go hold them in an area where not many people go at one time that way it wont be filled with vendors ontop of all the people participating, otherwise all the vendors there just clog up the place and cause even more lag than is necasery

also it asks us what side we are on.. we cant choose that yet because we cant get the demon wings yet lol so we have to side with the angels wether we want to or not?

"bring on the cap raise, cause it's just that easy" - we're bringing on a cap raise, with a few small events to lead up to it, and making sure there are as few bugs as possible, boo outspark!
"nono, install the cap raise now now now without testing" - nuuu there's so many bugs since the cap raise, i wish they'd test it more before releasing it, booo outspark!

seriously people, quit whining, quit complaining, quite importantly, quit contradicting yourselves in your complaints - the game is awesome, os do their best to report bugs to oos, and oos do their best to fix them, it's not like it's easy to put together a game of this size, sometimes problems take time to fix, intermittent problems far more so, it's hard to duplicate a problem if it only happens once every 3 days to 2 out of 2 million players.

threads that promote negative aspects of the game should be closed on sight in my opinion, but my opinion never matters anyway - when you get a bug, or you see something that's wrong, report it in the correct way, then it gets looked into, and fixed - when you have an opinion, by all means voice it, that's the point of threads, but don't encourage people to speak negatively - invite a discussion for all sides of arguments and such, make things more balanced, and more fun.

the game is getting full of morons lately simply because the better players who play fair, and enjoy their game are slowly leaving, cause the morons just kill the fun - it is, after all, a game!! (a good game, but only a game, nonetheless)

The forum is open to everyones opinions as long as they post in a civil manner ^^ The post you quoted did, actually, refer to the topic of permanent v. time limited items...he was just bringing in the point that it would affect OS's ability to bring in revenue.

His post does make some sense tho, while its nice to have permanent outfits (and I love mine), their profit margin may end up being dramatically lower.

However on the other hand, permanent outfits would require extra storage if you racked up enough of them so they may make up some of that profit in storage sales. But by how much? Is it enough to justify making all costumes permanent?

Every now and then they go back and offer a permanent version of users' favorite items for a short period of time. Like they did with the kitty ears.

If you feel the price is too high right now, you can always wait a little bit to see if it goes down with the release of new items or if it goes on sale at some point...but the downside to that is that it may not and you may end up missing out.

Its really pathetic that this one week wait was for SC items (expensive time limited ones). Its even more pathetic that we predicted it. I think everyone would have been happier if the Angel set and Demon set were permanent. Of course, the price would be around 12.5K SC, but thats definitely worth it. 30days is just a stint in time.
Regardless the event just started so we should see whats coming next.

The event Idea is pretty sweet, and my deductive reasoning leads me to believe that even though the opening was lack luster, the climax will reside in our minds for years. I never thought i'd be able to fight in pseudo biblical apocalypse (real or digital), and i can't w8 to lay down the law in the final battle. Its a slow start to armaggedon, but even revelations has a calm before the storm.

i wasn't saying that they shouldnt have the fight a boss event o.o i know people have been wanting it back and i support the fact that the people who can participate do, i just cant so i would prefer it if it were held somewhere that didnt involve so many people that dont nesacerily want to take part in it like the major mid level city? lol i mean most of those bosses are high level things, why not hold it in uru? or make a map specificaly designed for events like that, like some huge arena type map heh

Uruga is not a safe town, if you die you lose experience. Anyone who wished to participate in an event that took place in that city would want to have BoT.

Eldy is used because it is a safe town that both low and high levels can reach. Now, when I was a 5x cleric I really couldn't do that much in the 'fight a boss' or 'fight a GM' events (I still have horrible dreams of the flock of legendary trees SnakeEyes spawned once) but I still enjoyed them. As I'm sure many lower level players do. However, if it were to be held in Uru (even if Uru were made a safe town) a lot of lower players wouldn't be able to participate at all.

The reason people are frustrated is because we all saw this coming. OutSpark got a big clock on it's own page to countdown to the revealing of part 1. WHICH IS....

Now from what I can tell, the event for the Angel Set seems like nothing more than a "Fight the Boss" style event in eldy. With treasure chests as the prize.

Yeah, that's entirely new and unheard of.

The only difference between this and the other events is the warning that vendors can be killed. OutSpark's putting up their defense now so when people are killed later, they can't complain.

I have some suggestions for OutSpark:

1) Either very briefly describe what each part is, or give us one of those "fill in the blank" style things where we have to guess what each part does.

2) Don't put up a big counter for something that people have already seen happen. A counter for an event has never been done before, and OutSpark knew full and well that people would react. And we did ... and now we're disappointed.

3) Explain entirely and fully what the event rewards are. This is a trivial detail to some, but I'm not the only one who noticed. The prize is treasure chests for the event to the first part? Again, that's been done, and from what we've seen, the contents of those chests are (to quote miazima) "t1 and t2 trash".
