i am currently buying torn leather. i'm offering 10. is this too much? i personally don't really care about making a huge profit. but what's a fair price, just for future reference? just fyi, i'm 99% sure 10c for torn leather is very generous

It really depends on your server and what other people are buying for at the time. On Teva I usually see 10-20c for Torn Leather in Roumen.

Basically, if people are selling to you, then it's a good price.

To be honest mate you can go to a Healer and buy stones (or any NPC that has a "purchase" option) and if you hover your mouse over some Torn Leather it will show you the NPC buying price. Off the top of my head it's somewhere in the region of 5-7c if you sell it to the NPC.

So what you have to remeber is:-
A) I have to offer at least slightly more than the NPC - because if I offer the same some people may still sell it to NPC out of protest at your laziness.
B) I have to look at what other people are currently offering - I've personally witnessed a price war in Forest of Mist over Torn and Summoned Beast Dogtooth (both LQ remember) where someone started buying for 10c, someone else opened a purchase store for 12c, the 1st guy the changed his to 25c and basically this went on for a while uptil the 1st guy was offering 300c per LQ BDT. At which point my archer promptly decomped all the MQ BDT's I had down to LQ and made a fortune!! and on that note:
C) What can I realistically afford? - Let's be honest here. The only reason any of us buy materials is out of pure laziness! If we get too high level to get them ourselves then we should at least have an alt set up to do Decomp even if our main doesn't (see Comp/Decomp production thread) so how much is it worth to you? If you're buying Torn for 10c and someone else is offering 12c it's likely he'll buy what he needs before you do as people will sell to him 1st. If you can afford to go to 14c then you do. If you can't you have to wait for him to get what he needs or you move locations away from him.

There is no top and bottom price of what you should or shouldn't offer. I've had times where I've wanted LQ Summoned Beast and Torn Leather and opened a shop in Sea of Greed buying for 3c and bought plenty. Other times offering 20-30c in FoM and bought none virtually coz someone at the other end of the bridge was buying for 40c.

It's market forces. You buy for as little as you can or as much as you need to, depending how desperate you are for the mats.

There is a top price however - what it would cost you to BUY the LQ mats at Nina.

So whoever setup shop to buy LQ mats a 300c could have saved a fortune just scrolling to eld, and buying them from Nina.

I need help! I'm a cleverfighter in teva. I am level 22. I have to get a level 20+9 or 6 2h sword. Paying 15s. Can anyone hook me up?? By the way, the name's Lightpalidin.

While I'm not familiar with the prices in Teva (I'd check the Teva's Marketplace if I were you), I don't think you'll be able to purchase a +9 for 15s.
