View Full Version : Balancing Issues/Soloing/Etc.

A few things I'd like to see implemented after/during/ CB testing, has a lot to do with skill balancing and soloing. Now I'm not a hermit, or an introvert or anything, but I do like soloing. I personally love it, and I know a few of my friends in game, and even in other MMORPG's enjoy it as well. However one thing noticed by me in the CB testing of SoS is that Solo battling is a very slow time consuming progression, at least towards leveling up. Also soloing mobs has very high risks with very little payoffs, apart from maybe finding a few rarer items after the melee. I know there are benefits for fighting in parties, shared experience, increased experience gained for each different character class in the party etc. But shouldn't there be a bonus for those of us who enjoy soloing most of the time? Some sort of balance being made like, a slighter increase in exp gained from certain monsters at certain levels? A slightly better chance of finding a rarer item or skill book from a higher leveled monster(while not necessarily a mob)? I think there should be some balancing addressed there, even if my ideas put forth(just ideas afterall) are not included in the possibility of any sort of soloing bonus.

Secondly, my character class of choice is a rogue. My current level is 36. One of my in game friends progresses much faster than I have, and upon his reaching level 36 acquired the scare lvl 2 skill, and much to his dismay, double MP usage while adding about 5 points of damage. From doing an average of 145 to an average of 150 at double the MP cost greatly disappointed him. I thought maybe because he was strictly and AGI rogue, that pow had a certain element to add to the scare lvl 2 damage. My pow is at 20. I give all single point level ups to agi, and levels 5 and 10, which give 2 and 3 points to pow. So I have a significant larger amount than that of my friend. Upon hitting level 36 I learned the level 2 scare skill as well. Again, to our dismay we found the damage only increase by a measly 5 points. Now I'm sure I've seen Fighters with lvl 2 thrusting doing damage in the 200's range, and I am so sad to see my character with lvl 2 scare only doing the damage of lvl 1 thrusting. I would definitely like to see some sort of correction or balancing or upgrade to the skill, even if it's not additional damage, to make up for this. I used to be able to kill 4 same level monsters before needing to sit for MP recharging, and now I can only do half of that. Sometimes only 2 monsters that are even LOWER leveled than my character. If anyone else has similar suggestions problems, or any other sort of opinion on this, feel free to post it here. Again these are only my opinions so who knows, maybe I'm just a complete dummy and need to learn to build characters properly.

well i would suggest buying lvl 1 scare to learn it again since scare dosent do much more damage till masterd witch is like 40 more damage but at like 18 mp cost i would keep it at level 1 until you can master it in the level 100s when you would have like 300 something mp to spare but rouges and magicians are actually the fastedt leveling classes for soloing beacuse rouges dont use as many pots cuse they dodge more plus there scare skill uses much less sp then thrusting also a level 30 rouge has 314 hp and 78 mp and a level 30 fighter has 335 hp and 50 mp
so if your firend is leveling faster hes probably a magician or he just levels more hardcore then you this is my 6th day playing im only lvl 30 rouge my stats are 4 pow 34 agi and 4 sta i dont really see any need for pow as agi adds attack for rouges and adds more plus it adds dodge i have 17 dodge and at level 31 with dopping ill have about 20 dodge so im pretty happy i dont really see need for a new shield till the levell 40s when it adds 4 defense instead of 3 or 2 but maybe thats beacuse i have +1 shield of speed that gives 2 defense and 1 dodge
