Introduction

Hello to all Wind Slayer novice pvpers. I am Lynn, a novice only pvper, I have been playing this game for quite some time now and wanting to share some of my experiences of the game.

This is a guide to the basics of novice pvp, if you find all these information too boring, you can visit my Advanced Novice PvP Guide (http://www.outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=176701). There are a lot of misunderstandings that I have seen from many novice players, and as well as from those that have been playing for quite some time.

Stats Distributions

Every player that is inside the arena will have the following stats distribution (assuming fully equipped):

Note the parts that are circled in red:

- All players are equalled in levels (Lv 49).

- All stats are set to 55 with 1 point leftover which cannot be added to any other stats. This is just for viewing the information about each stat.

- All players will have the same amount of HP and MP.

- All weapons provide the same damage (including refined weapons).

- All players will have the same defence rate if fully equipped (including refined armors). This includes Helm, Body, Pants, Bracelet, and Shoes. Accessories are excluded as those have no effect in Novice PvP.

Each piece of equipment gives the following stats:

- Note that the higher level of armor on the left does not provide any higher defence rate than the lower level armor on the right.

Note: cash shop items may have impact on defence rate.

Controls and Skills

By default:

←: moves to the left

→: moves to the right

↑: jump up

↓: jump down from a platform or cliff.

S: the Basic/Weak Attack, available at the start. Doing little damage but can combo with Strong Attack.

D: Strong Attack, a much more powerful strike with a long animation time which could leave the player vulnerable for attacks. This attack is gotten from level 5 quest.

A: the Guard skill. Blocks Weak Attack completely but still take full damage from Strong Attack. A good skill to counter your opponent’s attack. Obtained from a level 8 quest.

→→: Dash, moves forward quickly, can be used to run or avoid attacks.

↑↑: Double Jump, to jump onto a higher platform.

Grab: an additional skill performed by using Strong Attack when you are close to an opponent.

Players are allowed to enter the pvp arena at level 5, it is recommended to get all those skills first before going or at least have the Strong Attack in hand.

Maps

There are 4 different maps available to our players.

- Poplar Arena
Most commonly used map, good for mass team battles (5v5 or more)

- Marble Mountain
A small map, good for small team battles (4v4 or less)

- Amakusa
Probably the worst map out of the 4, many cliffs makes jumpping difficult

- Balderan
Similar to Poplar Arena with a pillar that players can take advantages of.

Sorry Lynn but u wrong about the weapons damage, they give different damage: enfect i fight with my archer another one, and i deal more damage than him ( i talk about normal atk, cuz with the strongest one it's the same for all).
Now or it's the weapons or the def. look well next time.

I don't know about damage from Archers, this is about novice pvp. The damage will only be different if a piece of armor is missing, but all weapons provide the same damage as shown (excluding cash shop items).

E.g you do minimum of 38 damage with Strong Attack to someone fully equipped. You can do more damage if your opponent is missing some part of the equipment like bracelet.

Thanks, added to FAQ.

Well done , mate.
But is this finished ? iWould like to see depth of "PvP styles : Jumper,Dasher,etc/xyz" if you may , mate .

One more thing, the "best" armor is level 7+ . — Include that because your shirt/pants/shoes are level 10.

Yes, this is a finished guide for beginners. I am working on an in depth guide for novice pvp though, but it is quite difficult to make as it involves a lot more into skills of players.

The armor level does not make a difference in defence rate in the arena. Lv 10+ armor gives the same amount of defence rate as the lower level ones. Only difference is the looks.
