SO i just got an email for a closed beta of fiesta starting october 17th (tomorrow i think)

it's a different company, and different website.. is it a different version of fiesta?

did the developers of fiesta license it out to more then one company and not just outspark?

does anyone know the deal?

Did it include any links to webpages? What kind of email address was it sent from? There's many things that would point to it being fake.

Unless you see it here on the official Fiesta Online or Outspark website, DO NOT trust it.

For all we know it could be someone trying to phish.

yes, it's got links to real website.. i won't post it here in case it is a conflict with outspark..

the other website it like outspark, with a number of games they offer.

It's not like they are asking for my OUTSPARK username/password to join THEIR closed beta version of Fiesta.

I'd go here and send several of the GMs a PM with the information for that if you can't post it here. I sent them one earlier today for one site.

It's not a scam (unless it's a 600MB keylogger).. it's a website with a large number of games on it.

THEY ARE NOT ASKING FOR MY PASSWORDS FOR ANYWHERE ELSE!

I got it as a newsletter from another gaming website that i subscribed to months ago.

Like i said, i'd like to post the website here.. but i don't think i can.

Upon further review, and i should be able to post about it..

OnSon Soft, is the true developer of the game.. Outspark is the regional developer.

The beta i've recieved an email for is from OnSon Soft.

I'm not really sure why the two companies would compete against each other.. but i'm going to play with the other one and see if there are any differences.

it's legit.. downloaded it and installed it..

It looks the same to me.. different launcher, different login screen.. but Teva is the only server listed..

Only difference i could see was support for 1600x1200 displays. (which i don't care about because i run 1280x1024 anyway)

its a closed beta lol.
although i would like to take a look at the website and see what they are up to and if they give any reason as to why they are also opening a beta.
*maybe they are trying to get all the bugs worked out quicker?

Ok, I found the website your talking aboutwith teh second Fiesta and I think its like a rip of this Fiesta cause A They still only have Teva while we have Teva and Apoline. B IGN did the interview with us, not the other ones so that leads me to belive they mightj ust be trying to steal the work or maybe they are another group makeing another Fiesta/Shine online but which ever it is I know im staying here.

YAY i found the english part of the site!

... im not seeing any thing about why they are opening it yet....

although i like there onsite map... even though some of the gates are(miss placed, not labled or not there at all...)

with all the effert i see in the web site i don't think its fake... must be just trying to speed up the bug hunt.

Please do not worry, Outspark will be servicing Fiesta for a long time!

The site mentioned at the start of this thread is reffering to another service for Fiesta in another market.

If user are interesting in playing on the other service... Please bare in mind that... There service will be IP blocking north american users.

As it is intended for another market, Outspark's audience will not be able to play on that server...

Thank you,

GM_Murdock

Hm, I'd really like a GM response on this in the thread... else I'll start PMing them myself. XD

It is confusing - this means that the developer sold the source files to two different same region companies? What sense does that make...

/confused

[EDIT] Ah thank you Murdock - so it *is* for another region. As I imagined they would be blocking out our IP addresses. Thanks for clearing it up. ;)

Question, if they can IP ban North America, how come we can't have IP bans on our Fiesta? We don't like the spammers. I realize some of them aren't Outside the US but a great majority are.

All these games seem so easy to IP ban North America but yet we have to let people outside our region in? I don't understand how that is fair. :(

So Fiesta/Shine is originally Korean or Japanese or something, Outspark has licensed a version for North America, and this OnSon has licensed a version for their area, so there are now a minimum of 3 fiesta's around I assume.

Does code get shared between all of you so fiesta is improved as a whole?

Do you have everything the original fiesta has? Or did outspark just buy an early version of it that you are turning into "your own game"?

Our fiesta is getting worked on by you guys right? we aren't just getting hand-me-down patches?

Would be awesome to hear that there is now 3 fiesta teams happily sharing all their new improvements that we'll see the fruits of in the future (sadly I can't see it being this best case scenario though, lol). Hopefully this new licensee of fiesta was already expected by you & isn't toe stepping.

I think you can IP ban a whole country, but lesser IP bans can be gotten around sometimes by just restarting your internet.

We seem to have a very wide range of players on this fiesta. I am from Australia. I have dutch people on my friends list. I have seen people speaking German. I partied with someone a few weeks back, they did not speak english, I think they spoke spanish, I used babelfish on the internet to translate a few things & was able to find out what they needed for their quests & slightly impressed myself getting that far :)

I wouldn't like to see a whole country banned, I wouldn't like to wake up tomorrow & find Australia banned just to try and get rid of spammers, though even bans like this can probably be gotten around with knowledgable use of proxy servers & such. Our spammers can program bots, getting around an IP ban sounds like something I'd consider in their range of skills.

Actually, OnSon Soft IS the developer of this game. It is Korean (Most MMORPGs are), and they branched to the Asian countries.
Outspark was given rights to host it in North America. OnSon Soft is probably just branching into South-East Asia (Where countries speak or have a large percentage that speak English, such as Malaysia).

Generally speaking, coding updates on the orignal Korean version will always be the most advanced, followed by the branches, before it gets overseas. If connection or commitment is bad, North America can be behind by up to two or three years.

Generally speaking.

I don't know about IP blocking, but if that other Fiesta fixes the grammar in their game, I'll be playing THAT one with a proxy. :P

So annoying, lol

You aren't able to... that is the point of blocking a countries IP addresses. Although our Fiesta is sort of an International community it seems - and I think that is fine. I've met a ton of really, generally cool people from outside the Americas and am glad we are so diverse.

I know what I'm not able to do but I'm telling you what I have been able and can do. I have been able to log into that fiesta, start a character and was able to level. So ya...tell me again what Im not able to when I have been anyways?
