About Spammers

I don't know about the rest of you but i'm sick to death of the spammers, not just the gold cheaters, but store spam, and fools who just want to see how many people they can annoy..

There is a possible solution for the gold cheaters (yes I call them cheaters, how else did they get the gold to sell in the first place? bots!)
Why not simply add the web site address's to the swear filter? Or better yet, put in a block that won't allow people to post any type of website.

As for the other spammers, we need an ignore button/ignore list.. so we can just not see them speak. :eek: Much better than trying to filter out the garbage so you can see what your friend is trying to say...:p or see the answer to that question you've been asking..

call tho gold bot hacker. if any of you go to that web. you may as well give your wallet, key to house & car. that what it going to cost you. they will take more than what you have. any way. yes. it really bug me to see spamming. for who spam. this what i got to say to them. The gm's can't do anything really. There will always be a way around it. THey hacked teh game once so they can and will do it again. So please stop posting about it. Yes eveyrone's tired of them but we can't stop them 100%. Technically if u look at laws they can do that. We kinda can't deny them to make an account. But i just say you can't say the word more than 3 times in a row. That will cut down spamming alot

i agree a temp block list would be GREAT... would only have to be a temp thing since they change there char names.

also a way to talk to ALL your friends in your FRIENDS LIST would be good also.

3. Maybe better programming? Auto channel ban for repeating the same message 3 times.

Yep the ignore button wouldn't only be for the spammers... this way we can ignore those people in the game I call 'stalkers' the ones who follow you for days.. send friend invite after invite.. so many at one time that the little box turns BLACK and it takes 5 min's to click NO on em all...

I'm not sure about all games, but I know way back in the day when I played RuneScape, they had an ignore button/list so you could block these people.. oh and an invisable feature would be AWESOME... (so you can show as offline, when your in a witchy mood and don't wanna offend your friends by being snappy but would still like to let off steam playing the game):p

Don't be so negative...
If they have the technology to create this wonderful game, then they have the same knowledge to block these people.. and like I said.. it'd be a pain in the butt for them to have to keep changing thier web addy, so why not just add those addys to the 'cuss word' list?

Anyway, if any of you guys want to help stop it, take a screenshot of a gold-loser (aka gold-cheater) in the act and send it to a GM on the forums! I currently have a collage of 20+ gold-sellers on Paint; it's something fun to do while my speakers are in repair. :)

Number 2 is a bad bad idea I've witnessed the side effects of that one. Thats why not many people use subnet bans now.

IP ban can be bypassed by a simple router reset if you have a static IP

Not to mention Aol and some other servers use revolving IP's so they may still get in while some innocent AOL user would not be able to:(
