View Full Version : Nature's Swiftness glitched/counterproductive?

Hello all :)

I realize that to say Nature's Swiftness is not a popular or commonly used skill among the archer community is an understatement, however I would like to ask that archers kindly ignore whatever prejudices they have against this skill as they listen and respond to this post:

I do happen to use Nature's Swiftess, our only self buff skill, fairly often. This is especially true against boss monsters. So its because I use this skill so often that I have noticed that I believe it is glitched at the moment. I will cast the skill and attack at a rate that is even slower than the normal, unbuffed attack rate. However, I have talked to some archers who claim they don't have this problem, although these are people who don't use the skill normally. Because of this I am not sure if they honestly notice the difference (if there is one).

And so I ask you, well-natured archers: Have you yourselves been experiencing slower attack rate when using this skill? If not I loath to think the the problem is simply on my end alone...

Hmmm. Odd. I wish my archer were able to use it at the moment so I could help you but unfortunately, it's only level 30. :x

I can, however, tell you that in PvP, Archers using Natures Swiftness did seem to attack me faster compared to when they're unbuffed.

Hope that helps.

PS: I like your sig :O

Any other opinions or thoughts on this?

I use natures speed for guild wars and boss battles. I use it with both xbow and bow. The attack rate seems fine to me (just tried xbow, xbow w/ skin, bow, bow w/ skin on my wife ^^). I'm not sure that this is what you are seeing or if this is different, but the first 3 arrows after invoking the skill still go at normal speed. The 4th through last arrow fire at increased speed. Since I use the skill for longer battles, I doubt I would have noticed the initial delay unless I was specifically looking for it.

Another area of difference might be your guild buff since this affects attack rate. I could definitely feel the difference of a 10%, 5%, and no guild buff especially in conjunction with natures speed.

I hope this isn't really just your archer and can be explained away by another cause. ^^

Hmm... i can't really say coz i've been a bow user since lvl 1. But i use this skill on KQs. I dont use it when im grinding whatsoever due to chain cast of mist & peircing:D

Like what you've said, its good for boss kill, fist fights and 1 on 1 pvp.:D

I wouldn't be too surprise if this skill works the best for a DEX build, if the descriptions are true to this point that DEX adds atk speed and range dmg.

Lol, that's.. awesome. "If"

Back on topic. Perhaps this skill works only with a bow? Oh yeah, and fists.

Oh my. Suddenly I got a lot of responses ^^

Thanks all for taking the time to give me your input. The one thing this thread seems to confirm is that some other archers are being affected by this glitch, although surprisingly not all (unless the other archers just don't notice the difference :p ). This by itself if valuable information.

EDIT: For clarification, I vastly prefer bows to xbows, so at the time I wrote this post this was in regards to using the skill while having a bow on. Not sure if a difference will occur if I use an xbow.

I hate the skill...completely useless, boss battles? Yeah like how often do you go and kill bosses? PvP, If you arnt using skills your going to die, this skill is useless against fighters, bad against other archers, decent against clerics, but even then its not that great, and only against mages if you are stiffled.

Seriously I NEVER use it, people say they use it for PvP, but I never see other archer use it, and I never use it either. Really I would like it to increase my movement speed or increase my evasion. If they wont alter it in any way I suggest making it avalable to archer in the 30s when they actually need it. Cause after 51 you have enough skills that any decent archer will always have a skill to use, and any decent archer KITES they foes, they dont stand there and mow them down with arrows -,-

I had asked posters to please ignore whatever prejudices they had against Nature's Swiftness in my opening post, as not only was I aware that it is generally thought of as a useless skill among the archer community and any mention of this would be redundant with respect to this, but also because any flaming of the skill would not only not aid the topic at all, but rather get in the way of it. People who call the skill useless will (obviously) not use the skill and thus not be able to tell if something is truly bugged with the skill. If you want to complain about the uselessness of the skill, kindly make a topic about it or post it where its relevant. As it stands, your post is counterproductive to my inquiry.
