Tonights event - Major fail

Well lets see, as soon as the mobs started to appear, i lagged, whilst i was in hide mode. Killed a few monsters, then bang, i ran of the edge of the map! Using an eldie scroll wouldnt return me! Bright idea, relog- bad idea, now i cant get in, the map is under maint...

My partners on a diff pc, also having massive problems with even moving, though she hasnt tried to relog

But tbh for the low lvl rubbish u get from the chest spawn its not worth the hassle and lag anyway ^^
BUT im not complaining i used to love them when i was lower lvl cos the rubbish wasnt rubbish to me then lmao

I've got a killer duel core comp with a 3870 graphic card and 4 gigs ram running on a 10 meg connection (dsl) and I lag in every event on fiesta so we all know what the cause is, and it's not us

hmm we had a event in 1 map with 100+ players running around, spamming skills, 30+ shops and 30+ mobs that GM keep spawning....and u expect not to lag? o.o

then you need to learn how to tweak your 'killer' computer, cause i don't get lag, and mine isn't as 'killer' as yours, i just don't use stuff that i don't need (including the services that aren't needed)
but having said that, if you expect there to be no lag when half of the server is in one place, and they are all equipped with shiny stuff and lots and lots of mobs are running around, then you shouldn't go to events.
even helga events can get laggy at times - 'drops' lag being the biggest issue - it's just the nature of things - but 90% of the time, it's a problem at your end, nothing else.

Unfortunately I can't really speak for the running off the map thing, I get that too on occasion. However, with any open event like this where so many people are in one spot and using all of their skills its bound to get laggy. Even for the best of computers.

For less impressive computers like mine, that don't have the neweset processor and a high amount of RAM, it gets hard to move. I avoid events, but I like them because they clear out other maps for me ;)

Fiesta still runs slowly in town, and of course during events.

What most people don't realize, some things just can't be made faster. Even if you had a godly military grade computer, things are still going to load slow. Usually due to bad programming / design of the program.

Not that I really expect impressive design from an MMO, most online games lag in town anyway. Like you said, too much shinny stuff.

I agree with you.

If I didn't use hide mode, I'd get .bin on 3 seconds.

Everytime that mobs were spawn I'd freeze for some seconds.

My MB had 5 seconds cast time.

My inferno had 10 seconds cast time.

My char was running alone every single second.

I did not enjoy this event.

Oh, I have 2GB RAM btw, which is the double of the recommended and all of this was with hide mode :)

:o, Even with hide mode on you still experienced lag? Only thing that annoys me about hide mode is that sometimes my skills take longer to cast. I'm on Epith so I guess my turn is tomorrow Y_Y. My desktop is being stupid so I guess ill have to play on the laptop. I have 4gigs of RAM on this thing, in events I always open task manager and end unnecessary processes like, itunes, AIM, music, etc. Those things combined with Fiesta's massive pc usage can at times eat up your RAM.

If hide mode does not help in an *empty* town, and you have 1 character animation going and a few monsters, then you have another problem; hardware.

Since your paying attention Silk i am gonna go off topic.
Whenever i us Hide mode my game crash's 5 min or so after i activate it. But if i'm not in hide mode my game runs well not perfect but it certainly doesn't crash.

I hit shift-z and kept running lower left. even log out and back in, shift-z... ran lower left. turn off hide and my character did not try to run off screen at all. how many others did it, i do not know, but i hardly think it was hardware as this happens even when not in hide mode. but at the event in hide mode my character i could not control at all.

I find that i get lag once in a while but its not the computer, rather the internet connection slowed a bit. it is rare for me but it did happen a bit when the satilites crashed a couple months back. i can tell when its server lag cause things start to move slow, like you put the game in slow mode. this happens right before the server crashes.

I run a core2 duo 2.13 processor 4 gig ram sata 3.0 harddrives (in raid) and ati 2600pro graphics. connection through a moto Q cell phone

one odd thing is the shift+z never seems to work for me lol.

shift+z dosnt work when in a party. and when you do shift+z and it works all it does is hide all the players it still downloads the data that could lag some people

When "The Map is un Maintenance" it most of the time isn't.
I learned this from having four characters. I tried going on each of them and they all gave me the same message. Would they really let us even get that far if they were doing a maintenance? Anyway, it usually works if you close the game and log again.

As for the event, it really was a huge disaster in my opinion.
It started out fair when I saw it, with the boss and monsters from KQs like Mara and Robo.

But then, what pops out? Great Goblin Kings, mobs of Orcs which i didn't bother to click on to see if they were Orc Hunters, or just Orcs?

That's not it though. I'm sure you all saw the GM popping out from all over and just massively spawning monsters. I didn't mind since most were beaten down by 80+ people there. Looked to me like they split up to finish it up faster instead all of them at one monster.

I'm sure you all know the Gordon Master isn't very easy, even to high level people. The GM spawned a huge mob of Gordon Masters that he died as well. And, no offense, but he even does that? You pop somewhere and you spawn so much that you die too??

As for the mobs, there were way too many. I used shift + z, and like most others have said, it didn't work very well. From the mobs alone all over the town i was lagging. I have never had problems with lag using shift+z during events before; this was my first time.

Also, I noticed something and I don't know if it was just me. I was in hide mode, and my brother wasn't. Chests appeared on his screen, but not on mine. Was it changed so that you have to NOT be in hide mode to see the chests? Because if it was then...wow. You want us to crash, don't you? Q.Q

EDIT: shift + z seems pointless during events. If you're in a party, the lag will kill you. If you're not, you're doomed because you have no party to help.
