Mmmmm good question..... I guess I would say depends on what the gift is... If it is something that increases your stats or pots or something like that I would say you just became a sc user even though it was a gift... If it was something like a outifit that you just used for looks, and it didn't help you at all I would still consider you non sc since it was a gift.... Hmmmmm I'm curious to see what others think now! :)

If you use sparkcash, not matter how it came to be (apart from lame in-game event prizes), you are still now a sparkcash user.

Agreed. It's kind of harsh, but I know the primary reason people keep track of who uses the cash shop and who doesn't is for the prestige of holding the title: first/second/third SC-free [insert class]. Because the gifting option wasn't available to earlier players -- xXSinXx comes to mind -- and isn't available to every non-SC player, let's keep it a level playing field?

Imo there is no truly SC-less player, just those who actively buy SC and those who don't. Almost every serious player at some point in their playing career comes in contact with SC, be it from an event, free sample, gift, whatever, that grants them some kind of short-term benefit. Some might even be lucky enough to save up enough event items to trade in and get a perm. So for me gifting is no different, it's just a temporary boost that eventually runs out, unless they're really lucky and get a truly beneficial perm item like a cloak of love or horror mask. I would still consider gift-receiving players "SC-less."

Well me I would consider myself a sc player when I dont need to get gifts. My only sc item was the green hat that everyone eles has. I am broke as U.S goverment so when I can go and buy my own sc item without a check then only then I will be a sc player.

Oh, I just want to clarify that I said "(apart from lame in-game event prizes)" because I consider items like the St. Patty's Hat and anything else given from events or event NPC's to be fair game to everyone, and not to be counted as an "advantage"--cuz everyone can get it.

So let me ask this then... how many people are SC-less because of the whole status thing, and how many are because they can't spare the cash? I generally only give gifts to people I know well enough to know whether they would WANT a gift or not. And if I'm not sure, I ask first.
