Overall I have found this game to be great for what it is at this moment. Besides, we are only in the beta testing stage at this time. Howevere, there are some issues, which I am sure have had some attention payed to them before, but I would like to put them out there myself. I have played MANY MANY MMORPGs during beta testing and other stages of development, and I feel like being part of this stage in any game is a great honor, to be able to put forward our input and have it taken seriously to some extent. Well, onto my review of things that need adjustments:
*As I have seen from quite a few people on the forums, there are problems with leveling which can be fixed with a few of things. One of which is maybe increasing the power of equipment in the game, or maybe making finding equipment with upgrades on it, or perhaps give us more TYPES of equipment for specific builds. IE: A two handed beginner sword/axe/hammer/etc that can be used for those who want to be a juggernaut of sorts, to be a major damage dealer. Have different kinds of armor for each class that can be used for different builds, like an armor with HIGH defense but it slows you down, or decreases accuracy, or for a mage, an armor with high magic power, but low defense. Also having different KINDS of weapons that the archer can equip other then bows. Have the archer be more like*a rogue, be capable of using knives, short swords and bows, but don't overpower the archer, make them fast, with a low amount of damage with melee weapons.
Increasing the amount of experience/rewards for quests is a major thing...why is it that a quest that could take near 30 minutes to an hour to complete only gives you like 9 exp...you can get 9 exp from killing a few low level enemies...which is kind of sad frankly. Perhaps also giving the armor and weapon rewards in the earlier quests instead of the lvl 7 and 8 quests might help to, because by the time you get the armor and weapons, you have already been forced into buying them yourself because you've been dieing too fast.
And the number one concern when it comes to experience that I have seen, is that there is way too much grinding at low lvls. I agree with it, people when it comes to those who really get into a game, are often turned off of a game when you're already doing some major grinding time when you're only lvl 2 or 3. This can be a major damper on a good game. Perhaps increasing the amount of experience from low lvl enemies, or even enemies in general might be a good idea. Not by a lot mind you, but every little bit would help. It's pretty sad that in the first town you can find lvl 18 equips in the stores, however...to get to that lvl easily, you would have to travel quite far from the town, and probably find yourself in another town anyway.
*These are only a few problems that I myself have run into, I haven't run into any glitches as of yet, but so far this game has been great except for experience issues. Grinding at low lvls is boring, and if us players are really going to put a beating on this game to get the kinks out of it, we're going to need to lvl faster, so that we can get farther in the game to find more glitches with quests, areas, maps, etc..
I'm not sure as to whether or not this post will have any serious attention payed to it, but myself being a veteran of MMORPGs as far back as Everquest and Diablo, I find myself seeing a lot of promise in this game, and would hate to see it fall to the wayside due to some simple grinding/experience issues.
And this concludes my review, if you'd like to add to this please do, any help in getting some attention payed to this would be greatly appreciated. So let's make this game the best game on the net. Together, we can make Fiesta a major contender against big games like WoW, and Guild Wars. So keep up all the good work GMs, and hope to see this game rise.
