Way to go Outspark, I just paid $25 on sparkcash and guess what, your stupid GM's (new ones) go out and say lets hold an event, I log in and my BRAND NEW COMPUTER short circuted, wow, you blew up my new (insert word here) computer, Way to go Outspark on another failure of event, maybe you should learn to keep your good employees and stop hiring stupid ones who think its funny to blow up others computers, <note> this didnt happen immediately, it took 5 minutes, but during those 5 minutes i had no control over my character, it was running wherever it wanted to, even running out of elderine into blank blue area, i tried to get out of town without using a scroll, and thats when computer locked up, i turned it off and it now will no longer turn back on, way to go fiesta on another BRIGHT FREAGGING IDEA after my sparkcash runs out dont expect me to ever play this game again, if I had the right mind I would sue your company for all its worth due to poor service, destruction of property, as well as theft (should be counted as theft seeing that i can no longer use the 25 dollars i just spent seeing that the only computer capable of playing this game in my house has been destroyed, and that I just put everything on my character) and if you dont believe that I spent $25 I can back it up with exactly what i purchased: Angel Bundle, White Tuxuedo/Dress, Premium Hair, and Minihouse...I don't know how long it will take to get my computer out of the shop, but if its over $50 expect the bill written out to Outspark, this is the biggest bunch of bull(insert word) i have ever dealt with...Everyone on the server was complaining about how they were unable to control their characters, and I'm sure that I am not the only person who had their computer blow up...Good Day, and for the love of God fire the stupid GMs and keep the good ones like Silky, in my opinion Nik should A. be fired, B. listen to people when absolutely no one can control their characters due to strain on the server, or C. have an (unexpected) accident, because no one that stupid should be in a seat of power.

But seriously, an in-game event will not blow up your computer.

IG Questions:
These won't blow up your computer but will give ya a nasty bit of lag...
1. Does your computer meet the requirements for Fiesta? If not, that would be why you're having so many lag issues
2. How many processes were you running? The more processes the slower your computer will run.
RL Questions:
These will blow up your computer...
3. Are you sure you didn't overload the circuit your computer was plugged into? If you did, it could trip the circuit and cut off power to the plug.
4. Do you have a surge protector for your computer? If not, I'd suggest getting one. Its not OS related, but if you do experience a power surge it can fry your computer.
5. Are you running it on a laptop? If you're running Fiesta and a lot of processes in the background..or running it for a long time its entirely possible to overheat your computer, which can cause some major issues as well. If this was the case, invest in some computer cooling products (ex. stands with built in fans).
Before you completely blame OS, look at the entire situation leading up to the event. Its highly unlikely that the game itself fried your computer.

My sympathy extends to those who logged in and found themselves trapped. But events are optional to go to (which means you can log off at once also, if you realize you have trouble), naturally there is bound to be an overload of graphics (leading to .bin errors and disconnections) and hence, lag (people+monsters). I play on a laptop myself, and though it was laggy, I didn't experience a crash that bad (please refer to Celtic's post on your computer). :)
I have to admit that OS isn't the same company it used to be, and many things changed. I'll say they took a change for the worse, and it has gone downhill from April '07. But I still love this game, and I'm willing to wait and see how OS is going to fix things, slowly, one by one (although all I've seen this past year is rarely any fixes and only SC items, which felt like stabs through my chest). Give the new GMs a chance, they haven't been here for that long to properly adapt and know the community. But if you find that OS is being unfair to you, the customer (and I say that the CUSTOMER is always right, refer to Gandhi's quote), you can simply quit and find another game to play. Right now, OS is flooded with tickets, so try to understand, cool down yourself. *throws a chill pill*
That said, I'll probably snap too if OS keeps up this business-like image with the players. It doesn't feel like a game anymore. True, most older players feel it's a rip-off, business scheme with knives behind their fake smiles. Well, I won't be so quick to judge, and I'm giving OS my trust again, though it's been broken countless times. :(
Good luck, and sorry if my post was unbearably long and hard to understand. Just my thoughts. ;)

i logged in and was unable to leave without scrolling, and i didnt want to waste a scroll just to get out of a laggy town, i would have never guessed my pc would go boom, and this was a $1,985 computer, i bought it 2 months ago it is L33T, it beats Fiesta's requirements by a landslide

*Sigh* I JUST spent $25 TODAY and just threw the items on TODAY and *sigh* I've spent well over $100 in the past year since i started playing, my old computer (what im on) is not capable of playing fiesta, it takes 20 seconds just to open internet explorer, i somehow managed to play Fiesta on it last year, but I often had the game completely freeze, I've had nothing but bad luck all day for everything I've done....(off topic)...Teacher edged me on to a fight today, so i decided I would just keep to myself the rest of the day, oh no it wasnt that easy, I was reading when another teacher blows up at me, we had a work day and I decided that I would spend it reading, he had different plans<Note> girls next to me were making enough noise to get teachers from next door to come in and tell them to shut up, but I get yelled at...in short, I have started spring break on the worst possible day ever, i dont think im going to be at peace this entire week

1. computer is L33T, owns requirements
2. only process was Fiesta
3. Laptop (turned it on 2 hours before problem, played, got off to eat, got back on and event was going on, lagzors to the max tried to escape without scroll but character unable to control itself and BOOM game completely froze, manual shut down, wont come on)
4. Laptop, no surge could hit it, i only charge it at under 25% battery but it was at roughly 80-90% battery when it went boomboom
5. It was plenty cooled, I just got it out of sleep mode after eating dinner, got on and within 5-10 minutes it was fried
If you say any components then I laugh at any of you, I spent all i possibly could to make this thing EPIC GAME WORTHY, because I am a gamer...and I dont mean to flame so much, but it is the new GMs i think that are causing many of the problems, the older more experienced ones are amazing and know where to hold events or know the capacity before peoples computers go *boom* but basically it was 3 new/inexperienced GMs running the event, 2 of them just because of their names seemed to older GMs seeing that their names were based off servers, but I had never seen them until today, and Nik seemed to be the newest of all of them, mocking all the laggers...I dont know how many people were spamming to end the event due to the same issue of lag, but I have no clue how many people went *boom* oh well, I dont think I will be charged anything on my bill because of the fact that the computer is only 2 months old, I do have a 1 year warranty, with an extended 2 year warranty, well back to *gulp* runescape  I already see myself being bored to tears

I will repeat myself again,
It is impossible that an event in Fiesta "blew up" your computer.
If your computer is blown, how are you posting? Do you have an extra desktop to the side?
Also since it is only 2 months old, take advantage of the Warranty.

So I assume this matter is the reason you did that experiment in Elderine, 2 hours after the event ended. You could've at least warned the people, because an announcement was released 2 hours ago to the vendors, "The event is over. It is safe to set up your vendors." But when you did that experiment...you just killed a lot of vendors. I don't think that's very nice. :(

Let me make this as clear as daylight.
The event is posted in the Calender.
The event is posted on the Angels & Demons Page.
The In-game announcements were made 1 hour Prior to the event and then ever 15 mins after the hour.
The event was notified that it has begun.
The event was notified that the event has ended.
Also, I didn't RUN the event, but I did supervise it.

Let me plug it into my flux capacitor, go back in time, and save all the vendors by canceling the event.

I have never seen a computer blow up from running a program, unless there was something wrong with the computer itself. In other words, stop blaming a computer program for what was most likely the fault of a chip or some such other thing in the computer.

Ah, haha.
I think the fact that I actually laughed aloud at that is a sign that I should go to sleep.
I didn't participate in the event due to the fact that my laptop is not particularly game friendly; however, even without having experienced it I think it's rather silly to assume an in game event caused your computer to explode. The only thing that comes to mind for me is maybe something was wrong internally and the game just agitated it. But hey, what do I know.

it was running wherever it wanted to, even running out of elderine into blank blue area,
that's one of my favorite lags :) it happend 3 times to me... always when i stand in front of kyle...that whining guy. but i like walking through the pool.
hehe i remember the time when i blewded up my computer... i played fiesta for 15 hours only taking a break to eat something...the day after it didnt work anymore. lol yesterday i just downlaoded fiesta on my sisters labtop!it's been a half year since i last played fiesta...
and why is everyone always so angry at outspark? i like fiesta! maybe some better servers for less lag. but its not somethingn to get angry about!
i sugest a "cheer up" topic where everyone can say something nice to outspark.

Silky, did you misread my post?
I was talking about the experiment where you summoned hordes of King Slimes (which killed vendors) 2 hours after the event was over. And there was no in-game announcement that you were going to summon them.
So let's make it clear:
I know that there were announcements for the event and whatnot, OS even put up the warning that 'vendors will be flattened during the event'. But I'm talking about 2 hours after the event ended, after it was announced that 'it is safe to set up your vendors'. And I saw your shout in Elderine, which went along the lines of, "I'm doing this experiment to....this kid that his computer crashed.."
The point that I'm trying to make is that:
1 - It was 2 hours after the event and event announcements were made.
2 - You summoned the monsters without warning.
3 - You summoned the monsters to do 'an experiment'.
4 - I saw dead people with my own eyes (vendors).
5 - There was no warning at all. Your statement about the 'experiment' only came after the monsters killed the vendors.
I'm not talking about the event, but 2 hours after it. I wouldn't have minded if you summoned them for fun, but you summoned them to 'prove a kid wrong about his computer crashing because of the event' (which, I assume is related to this thread because of the description) and in the process, vendors were killed. Why such drastic measures just for this case? Why bother going through that trouble, when OS is 'supposedly' flooded with tickets? And why sacrifice the vendors, without warning or apology? :(
Note: I am one of those who had fun with the event, I only got a disconnection once, and I am able to withstand most of the monsters' hits. But this just took me aback. If you can offer a satisfying explanation, I would gladly rest this case. :)

If youre computer was so "l33t" then it shouldnt have crashed from fiesta lmao, i mean really my computer is 2 years old, it used to be heavily abused, its went through many lagfest events, but it survived. And woudn't you think it would have happened to someone else with a less advanced computer? Maybe you're computer was just faulty =( it does happen, just do what Silky said and take the warrenty lmao. But I'd seriously have to doubt it was fiesta.

Yea, I agree with most of the people here. It's sad that your computer "blew off" but I don't think it is even 1% possible that it is due to Fiesta, or gaming on a whole. Unless you have been playing for an entire day. Perhaps when you bought it from the shop, it was already faulty (evil computer people).

Oooh Chewy, I gotcha beat. My laptop is 4 years old and only has 512mb RAM. So far, the worst thing to happen to my computer it freezes the game if I have too much running at once. Heh, oops.
To the OP: I would suggest speaking to your service technician before you make assumptions as to the cause of your computer malfunction. Perhaps he/she has found something wrong with the computer that you were previously unaware of. Even new technology breaks. Look at the first Xbox...everyone bought one and then they had the whole 'red circle of death' issue. Despite the fact that it was brand new.

Also, if I did misread the post, then I'm sorry. Those King Slimes (summoned 30) were KILLED by me after being summoned. King Slime is such a low level monster, it killed a few low levels around me and I don't recall it "destroying" any vendors.
After that, someone asked me to spawn Queen Slimes, which I did, and they finished their quest! Whoopie!

The best way is to create another map which can be accessed by an event NPC in town (e.g Elderine) for such a mob-summoning event.
1) Good for the vendors since they can vend happily without much disturbance in town.
2) Good for those players who want to turn in their quests to NPC without dying over and over (especially low level players who have quests in elderine)
2) Good for those players who don't want to involve in such an event or away from lag.
At least that's the best solution and it generates at least 3 benefits which I just mentioned above.
But, blowing up a laptop is what I heard for the first time, it is good to check whether your laptop is over-heated, there should be a place where you can feel the hot air is withdrawn from the laptop, check whether the hot air is still coming out when you are playing Fiesta (most of the time when it generates a lot of heat when your CPU and GPU are doing lots of work at the same time). If hot air is not coming out, it is either having problem with the fan or the dust is covering the part which causes air ventilation problem.

As someone with a 6 year old laptop, I have to join the others in saying that it's impossible for Fiesta to have destroyed your computer. Newer models tend to require processor, memory, and hard drive upgrades for better performance. In fact, I did the latter two to this old one, even though there were no problems. It runs Fiesta beautifully, and I've only received lag while running high-bandwidth torrents, during kingdom quests. This is with a unit that came out before video cards were made to be easily replaced and upgraded.
The year old computer? Motherboard was faulty, it required new memory cards thanks to Vista, and I'm considering looking up video cards and a processors to replace it all. The new one became a dead weight in a year, after the motherboard was replaced, and getting better memory cards fixed the problem completely.
If it's an issue of overheating, which is also possible, there are plenty of fixes. Having a laptop in the first place, you should have invested in a cooling mat as well. I guarantee that it has kept my laptops from melting.

Next time, a warning would be nice. Seeing dead vendors around made me go "LIEKNOWAI" And the King Slimes went rampaging for at least 10 seconds (don't think there was any level 6x mage there who could AoE them, so some vendors around the steps to Shutian got squished) before you 'killed' them.
Well, it certainly is nice to help out lowbies, though summoning the monsters a bit father away from the vendors/ a warning would be appreciated.
*mopes about the old, harsh days*
I have to say the event was a nice one though, I've never seen Gordon Master in action before. Some people were whining about it, and although the revealing of the SC items felt like a kick to the face, the event was awesome.

I've never heard of a game would fried the computer.. But I've made my computers boom because of
1) Over playing like vendor the items up to 72hrs,
2) Leaving up to 7 days and without letting it rest,
3) Overheat the disc in the player,
4) Pressing the power on button more than 10times and created a spark,
5) Spoil the internal circuit =3 (Not on purpose though)
Probably you have been overused it previously and cause the computer to go boom ^^
