Hello people. I've been in a few MMOs, but I'm new to Fiesta, so go easy on me please. I've already searched for a similar thread, but the only one I found was almost a year old and had only 2 replies.
I tend to play at kinda random times of the day, so I find myself playing solo for 90% of the time. I've been reading through the forums to see which class would be best suited for soloing, and I'm undecided between Cleric and Fighter.
The Cleric enjoys the obvious advantage of self-healing, but has a low attack. I don't mind sacrificing some attack power for resistance. As long as it is a reasonable sacrifice. I don't want to end up with a tank with zero offensive power.
On the other hand, playing solo with a Fighter would require a hybrid build between Damage Dealer/Tank. Would that hybrid still be better in attack than a Cleric, while still having a decent defense?
Summing it up, would I be better off with a STR-oriented Cleric or a hybrid Fighter? Any other suggestions?

Any class could solo, however mages will have a hard time solo, also due to low stone capicity.
I think Fighters will still be the best soloers, but STR clerics very close follow ups.

yes.
If you can get good green gears with high/maxed End stats, you can make a good hybrid fighter with uber attack. As you level higher and higher, it becomes more and more difficult to solo with a cleric, regardless of build. I say fighter, if you're going to solo.

if you wanna solo,go with an archer,Lvl 1-50 is not that great, but at 51 you get Natures mist (a kiting aoe) which means you pretty much never need a pt cept for places like BoD,TR,LoT etc and kqs

Archer is the way to go. Also, despite everyone's opinion, soloing as a Cleric is not that bad, even at the higher lvls. I've had STR clerics tell me all the time that it's not that bad if you have patience, which I fell most people at the higher lvls don't have.
I seriously doubt every high lvl Cleric got past 60-89 with just partying.

One round of Kidmons solo was enough for me to never, ever solo on my cleric. Mind you, I rarely soloed on my cleric after 50 and prior to that hideous repeat. And when I say rarely, I mean it was about .04% of the time. I went from 55-71 without soloing once. I doubt I'm an exception.

i honestly solo'd a lot as a cleric from 50-70 it wasnt hard. however 70+ solo drove me insane.

Best solo class has to be fighter, no competition. Archers are a close second and somewhere far behind are mages and clerics.
Proof: Fighters have been able to solo King Kong Phino (lvl 70-79 KQ) numerous times, only other class to do it once was a cleric (CS ho though :p).

I'd have to say Fighters or Archers.
Fighters: High def and dmg, but lacks in AOE capablity (Attacks more than 1 monster at a time). They are best for soloing until lvl 51 where the archers are at their prime.
Archers: A mediocre class until lvl 51 where they become gods of soloing. They are able to solo up to 30 monters if they are effective.
Personally I would choose an archer, Although lacking in PVP and def, they are the clearest choice for soloing.

So far the only class that seems to be completely left out of solo-ing is the Mage. Are they really that squishy?(just my personal curiosity)

The only problem with archer soloing is the reliance on speed scrolls. Some maps aren't kiting-friendly, so scrolls are necessary to outrun monsters.
Also, if you choose to play as a solo archer, make sure you have a beefy internet connection. Lag kills.

Lag kills any player solo-ing.
But i agree, archers are the best class for solo-ing
