Hey all, I'm new...

Hey all, my name's Gavin Lytton and I'm 15 years old. I just started playing Fiesta today, after finding it on the internet. I'm going to join the Bijou server when it's online. Here's my ultimatum: Archer or Mage? I don't want to be a Fighter or Cleric, because I'm a ranged fighter type of guy. I don't know how to pick though, Mages are nukers, but can't take any hits. Archers can do pretty good damage, and can take a bit of hits. Mages are great AoE and 1 on 1 damagers. Archers are great 1 on 1 damagers, but aren't too good AoE. Mages can't solo. Archers can but it takes alot of pots and scrolls. Magers are great for dealing damaging in parties. Archers don't seem to be wanted in parties, but they seem to be useful. PvP, I don't know. I intent to be an all arounder, I want to solo, and parrty a bit when the chance arises, and might even try PvP. So help me decide; Archer or Mage? I'm leaning toward Archer, but I don't know.

Sorry for the verbal diharea (spelling), I'm stating the facts for myself, most you know I'm sure. So please, help me decide.

Almost forgot my introduction! Well, you know who I am and my age, and I can't wait to play with some of you on the Bijou server.

Also, please, can someone give me some noob advice? Anything! As small as what to sell and what to buy, to what skills I should use, and my stat placements.

Well, I personally have my own dislikes/likes about the classes.

One, the mages have eyes I absolutely hate. Archers have icky clothing until 40.
Skillwise, mages are stronger, but don't have much health compared to an archer.

Well, it either dukes it out to high hitpoints and a little less damage, or lower hitpoints with higher damage.

I would probably go mage. I've tried both, and it was a little easier.

I'm wondering. Do archers get more skills at like 13-17? All I see are 4 attacking skills and 2 passive skills. At 20 I hear you get occupation changes? Can someone tell me what the options are for all the classes, and for the Archer, what's the difference between them, and what skills come with them?

There's only one change for every class.

Fighter -- > Clever Fighter.
Mage -- > Wiz Mage.
Archer -- > Hawk Archer.
Cleric -- > High Cleric.

Again, not sure about the skills. And remember, the edit button is your friend. When you change your occupation, you don't get anything new except the fact you can now equip items 20+, and you get a new quest to start for a skill that if you did, would save you a whole lot of money. AND 5 stat points. ^^

I have a lvl 17 archer, and so far no new skills yet. I think you have to wait until level 20 at least.

KQ is the kingdom quest. Lots of exp and sometimes good items/weapons.

At lvl 20, you have to do a "hard" quest in order to get good items past 20. Basically, if you don't do it, you will have a VERY hard time going on (though I want to try without doing it LOL ^^). And I was wrong there are 2 other one's. Your title can also change when you do these. For example, fighters become Clever Fighters after completing the lvl 20 one, then Warriors at lvl 60 after doing the quest, then Gladiators at 80 I think, and Knights at 100 I believe.

A KQ is a complicated quest with either 1-10, 1-15, or 1-20 people. You work in 5 person parties in order to get through it. There is usually a mini-boss in most of them with a boss at the end. If you complete it, you get a special reward n your inventory.

It would take FOREVER to get to level 100. I can't even get past 26 without being bored.

They are not "skills" it's the class. We accidentally called it a skill change. But the title is Hawk Archer.

You do get a special skill at lvl 20, but I don't know what it is because I haven't played an archer yet.

You can go to Elderine and look at the different skills there. It's better to take a look for yourself, just for accuracy.

No, there are 3 different towns with different skills at a Skill master. I believe archer stops at 76 in skills unless there's another town not implemented yet 0.o

No, in roumen there are 10 NPCs. A guild master or whatever, a storage keeper, a town keeper or bascally leader of roumen, a item merchant, a helper, a healer, a skill master, a smith, a Weapon title merchant, and a old geiser named Robin.

The guild master allows you to make a guild for 300s, or delete it and such.
Storage keeper obviously keeps a storage as large as your inventory for all the characters on your account and gives quest
Town keeper gives kingdom quests and other quests.
Item merchant sells mining tools, enhancement stones, flotation stones "food" for your wooden horse, and the wooden horse. Gives quests.
Helper just gives tutorial at lvl 1 ^^
Healer sells hp/sp stones. Gives quests.
Skill master sells active, mastery, and alchemy skills. Gives quests.
Smith sells accesories, armor, and weapons. Gives quests.
Weapon title merchant sells weapons titles to register to your weapon and add damage which you also register at him. Gives quests.
And Robin just gives quests.

There aren't that many clerics. It's probably the best soloing class, but at the level 1-30 there is hardly any of them to make the 'majority' of them.

You know what I mean! My cleric is level 26 and there is no way she can walk to Uruga, much less afford a scroll to get there. It takes forever to level up just to walk there...unless you follow someone else who's a bazillion levels higher than you.

Don't feel bad I'm lvl 45 and I can't walk there either.



What about beginning archer?

I just grind my butt off until I level. I find KQ's a waste of time at this level, to be honest. x_x;

Except Goldhill. Mara is just a big waste of time. I can grow 30% in 30 minutes. Mara takes about 30 minutes and it gives me 20%. Usually less.

I have some advice...if you're running low on items and/or money, start a new character because they share the same storage, and I notice the noobs get a lot more low level items then when you're say level 20+.

I have an archer but she's only level 17, so I dont have much advice there. I hear building up STR and SPR is good.

@Nephytys - mob can either mean one individual monster or a BIG group of monsters at one time.

@Gavin - just shoot a crapload of stuff giving you decent experience and you'll be 10 in an hour. Most things can't even touch you at your level yet, since their HP sucks.
And advice on being a noob, can't give you any advice there. I don't know how to be a noob!
