Incredibly frustrating...

For some reason on my computer i, and i am a new player yes, cannot close the "quick start guide" that first shows up. When i go to hit the 'x' in the corner to delete it i get the arrow change that is only used during the game, and then i click into the game. This means that the quick start never disappears, and i can move around but not see a single thing. This not only is very very irritating, but makes playing this game impossible. I'm wondering if there is any way to write in to a moderator about this issue on my account, hoping that maybe they'll just delete it for me. It would be a shame to not get to play this game after hours of installation.

hmmm....maybe try pressing esc...it should stop showng after u have lvled a bit...

I cna't level because of this problem (i'm new) so hopefully it will go away with escape because i won't be able to just get rid of it.

I tried using f10 - and it disconnects me.
I tried using esc button, and first i couldn't see the menu because the guide was STILL in the way. Then holding down esc i was, go figure, disconnected.
This is so very infuriating.

try waiting a few mins,but if you're lagging that bad the game will probably be hell for you

It isn't a matter of lag, although i'm sure that problem will arise later, it is that i can't get rid of the guide. Whatever i try to use to get rid of it disconnects me. Or does the game automatically disconnect with a certain lag time? But waiting has nothing to do with it, i just can't get rid of it.

Don't hit F10. That's to open the guide and maybe, with lag, it's confusing the client. If you hit Esc just once, that does not remove the window?

Which server did you select? If you're not particularly attached to a certain server try using one that has a lower population and, in turn, less lag. Bijou is almost constantly on High, so the lag there will be greater.

Also, until you can get things sorted out with removing the Starting Guide, try hitting Shift+Z to hide the characters in Roumen (also works in Eld later on). You won't be able to accept party invites or read normal chat, but when you head to Forest of Tides, you can still kill the same monsters you needed in Roumen (Slimes and Mushrooms). This should remove some lag, too. When you're done with removing the guide, just hit Shift+Z again to bring everyone back. WARNING: Unhiding everyone will make a bit of lag because your computer has to render everyone.

Pressing f10 is used to bring up and or get rid of the guide. However when i hit the button the guide closes, but i become disconnected to the server. I'm on apoline, which i think has about the least amount of player already. I'm not sure if this is a lag problem, or just a problem with my specific game/computer. It doesn't seem to be horribly lagging, it is just that when i go to close the guide w/ the "x" i can't, because the "x" part is not part of the guide anymore, but in the background as part of the game.
Hitting esc actually brings up the menu options for the game. However seeing as the guide is in the way, anything i bring up is not able to be seen. It is there but i can't see it because the guide is in the way. I'm waiting for a response from the website admins and hopefully they can just take it off of my account. It shouldn't be that difficult to just get rid of it.

I have this same problem and it's very frustrating indeed. Best wishes on getting it resolved, either by your own means or through the CSR. Let me know what the CSR has told you even though i will get an answer soon because i, too, submitted a ticket to them.

THANK YOU. I'm sorry to sound happy in your despair, but i am glad that this problem is an actual bug in the game.

However the moderators of this game are not very good, and i have not gotten a response. Instead i have actually gotten several emails of "your email did not go through correctly" even though i have followed directions SEVERAL times. All together a crappy way to avoid more emails. In a few days i might attempt this game again, but the help is just detestable. However if you get a response, please do share. ^_^

What kind of video card do you have? Do you have the latest drivers? Do you have enough RAM to run Fiesta?
