Have you tried mal-ware and virus scanning?
Ad-ware, Spybot, Combofix, and Fixwareout are some good programs to scan and get rid of that stuff.
Viruses and mal-ware can some times hold the game back but scanners can also hold it back.
(Like Norton Anti-virus)
