Pay a fee to report abuse????

The other day i had a player following me around begging/demanding i give him money. Typically i just ignore this behaviour but he wouldnt stop so i politely declined to give him money. His response was to call me <removed>". Lovely huh?! Well i promtply hit the report button to discover i had to pay 200 gold to report!!!! Im sorry but wth?? I payed the fee with hopes that something would be done. Sadly the next day i see the same person doing the same thing curiousity i checked his stats to discover he had more manner points than he did the day before!!

Ok i guess i just want it explained to me why i have to pay a fee to report verbal abuse and see nothing get done.

Here is the answer to your problems:

Don't snitch. Seriously why waste your gold. Just take a screenshot and make a ticket.

And I would suggest doing what Hooblaim said, as most people are paying for, or trading for manner points anyway.

Just wanting to drop in and say, please don't use special characters to represent cursing on the forums, as inappropriate language is something we have to do away with.

That said, Hooblaim's suggestion is good, getting screenshots and turning them into the Staff is your best bet in all scenario's.

Well what happens if we are on a low level character and some jerk decides to beg for money? But anyway, i'll start taking more screenies. I get bugged A LOT on my priest due to the fact that I don't bother healing jerks who will yell at me when they die. >.>;;

i cant take screen shots because i dont have the key to do it(it sux).
just ignore those jerks, why should they be yelling at u when they should know how to stay alive, their own faults for dying

Yes I try to ignore them, but it can be extremely annoying...But once, I simply switched teams and healed everyone there. Then the jerks on my former team were like "Rakury!! Come back!!" lol....

so what i am hearing in this is that the report made thru the report system dont go to staff?? and it isnt the matter of not being able to afford the gold it is the point of having to pay to report abuse.

and btw i was only putting in exactly what the player typed in game to me. so why is there no punishment for him in game yet i get reprimanded for it in forum???

Yes because you must follow the TOS (terms of service) of the forums. Don't stoop to that players level and get yourself in trouble because of what they did.

You can't give anyone money in game if you don't want to. If you say no and they persist, ignore them. If they give you attitude or call you a bad name, just ignore or screen shot report. If they start to harass and get violent then you can screen shot and report.

Basically you have to just let it go when someone says something stupid to you. There are always going to be players like that.

Well, im tired and cant be bothered to read all the replies, so ill just answer the OP.
The reporting system has a fee, so the CSRs/GMs and whoever has to deal with these reports, dont get spammed with hundreds and hundreds of them daily. If it was free, ive just said what would happen :)

Yep, most people cant be bothered reporting to CSRs, created less things for them to deal with, but hackers will arise in game...

HUD: Heads up display. The thing showing you health, stats, quick use, and stuff along the bottom etc etc :)
