I have a friend who made a Outspark profile, downloaded and started playing SoS the same night. It might have opened up for everyone now.

First off, the game has only been open in Closed Beta for 2-3 weeks, you can't say waiting for months :|

Also, the Tempest event (Yesterday) probably allowed every single newcomer to download the game directly, otherwise I don't really see the point in the event ...

Meaning that people who were already there before the event were not able to download the game

Though, this is only my opinion, I can't provide any proof, Sorry :(

uh yesterday there was an event where people could sign up and stuff, event lasted for about 4 hours, after that they closed it again.

Although I wouldn't say it ticks me off, I do agree that it isn't right. Some people have been around here waiting for Closed Beta for a while and weren't chosen, then there was the Event yesterday which let completely new people join in. I know how you feel; however, I don't mind all that much, I have no problem with waiting it out until Open Beta comes.
