Game Modification

Hey there, I have a question. Are Visual Modifications (Reskins/Remodels) legal or going to be legal for Fiesta? I think that it could be quite a business.


The question aside, now for some information. Does anyone here remember Morrowind, and more importantly, its models? The models for morrowind are all .nif files - as are the models in Fiesta. All of Fiesta's textures are .dds files, and the majority of people would already know how to change them.


Until we know for sure whether or not these sort of modifications are legal, I will not attempt any myself, nor do I encourage anyone else to. I am somewhat sure that it would be legal, however, because the game and its wonderful services are all offered at no charge.





And also, I have seen some wonderful modelling masterpieces in my time playing Morrowind, including the Elvish Sabres which were ported onto Oblivion and still looked great.


Thanks for reading - to the GMs, I hope that I could get a response to this, as I would quite like to see the level 8 warrior legs changed to something that isn't a skirt. >:(

UI mods are okay. The golden rule is that there must be no unfair advantages. UI is just personal preference.


If you reskin and they decide to reskin in a patch you risk a lot and they won't help you with your problems.

Well, patches are always a problem. The simplest solution, of course, is keep backups.


And yes, Golden rule is no unfair advantages. It's hard to make unfair advantages with reskins - unless you want to distribute one that secretly makes the set of armour you use fully transparent, bright red hair, beams of light attached to heads so you can see locations, etc.


But I can't edit .nif files myself so I won't do any of that stuff.

Morrowind owns!beat the 1 for the 360 and the xbox and!the computer 1.

I never bothered to finish it, although by the time I was done with it it took me more than six game days to cross my world in my freeformed flying airship xD


Also lagged like a <censorship, lol> and took up almost 16gb of space on my HDD with all the old models and such. Mainly, models.


So I deleted it, then cried myself to sleep.*
