Question about weapon licenses

Hello,

I am new to this game, and have noticed a merchant that sells weapon licenses. What are these? I have looked all thru the user guides, and found nothing that mentions them.

Weapon licenses allow you to deal more damage onto a monster.

If you put a license onto your weapon, you will see it will say
<license name here>, 0%, 15% damage.

Go and kill that monster, and that 0% will go up, meaning you're gaining experience for that license. After you hit 100%, your license will level up, increasing the damage to 20%. It goes up to 35% damage.

It just helps you deal more damage to the certain monster you registered into your weapon. ^^;;

You're allowed 3 licenses per weapon. They aren't able to be taken out, so choose wisely on the monsters.

Some licenses can go higher and some ( not all) can also give crit bonuses to the weapon once the license is completed.

For instance: I have a finished Ice ViVi license on my Xbow and it gives 40% damage bonus and adds +1% crit to my Xbow.

It depends on the level of the monster how high it can go up I believe.

I have Bat and Spider licenses on my Xbow aswell, but they are not maxxed out yet. So, I don't know what if any bonuses I will receive from them.I read some where( I think from Aegromonia) that the Bat license doesn't give a crit bonus. :)

*edit* They give dorky little titles you can use while the weapon is equipped to. I think mine has "Ice ViVi Destroyer" or something like that.
