Is it Open Beta Testing now?

I see alot of posts about people who are waiting to get in. I saw an ad for this game on a website, clicked it, signed up, and I'm in? Why is everyone on some sort of a waiting list?

i had the same situation.
just registered, downloaded and now playing sos.
when i want my friends to join sos they couldn't download sos, because it's a "closes beta".
