Share your Beginnings !!! I always wondered how others began this game......

How did you begin playing SotS? (Did a friend refer you?, just by chance?)

When did you know you were hooked? (1st party, event or good friend you met?)


I began playing SotS just by random chance, I was on MySpace playing DragonWars and saw an advertisement banner for SotS. I clicked on it and downloaded the game ^^. I read through the forums and created an Outspark account installed the game and that was that!

I first knew that I was hooked on this game when a GM appeared in Essene and Mayo's started appearing everywhere dropping candy!! I was like WOW!! GM's actually talk to players and hold live events!! Oh man the old nub days where so Awesome!!

i was mostly just playing neopets and on youtube, and then i decided i wanted to play a mmorgrpg type like game and when i said that, i was on youtube and i said i was going to refresh the page, and wat ever one comes up as advertisement , i'll play it, some dragon one came up and i said.. maybe next refresh, then secret of the solstice popped up and i clicked it, looked cool and safe and it was in open beta (like to be one of the first to play a game) so i downloaded it, played it some, then didn't play for like a week and almost deleted it, but decided it give it one more chance, and i did, and now i'm here..

also, i could never find the rules to the game untill like 4-5 months ago

well i was on Myspace and i had just finished zelda TP and was looking for a game
saw the char for fiesta( CUTE OUTFITES) when i clicked ad i got to the outspark site thinking that the add was for Sots i played

i got hooked and also first pt (this is back in CB)
being in the nov lab thats where i met zappy XD omg took us weeks to get to the end of the lap (or atleast felt like it)

i wanted to be an appy but hit aco and took me like till the end to notice i was wrong class XD

It all started out when I was looking for an MMO to play and found Fiesta, and registered on Outspark but never actually got around to DL'ing the game, then I forgot I even registered to the site XD One day I found a CB invitation to SotS in my email (but why? I never posted in the forums or anything before XD usually they only give invites to active people I thought o-o) and thought "hey, why not?" and that's that :D

I loved the game back in CB, lv. 40 aco FTW! XD I was hooked immediately, simple game and a simply awesome community ^^
Things changed A LOT since then, you lose old friends and make new ones and some of them have just been there since the lil' nub days (<3) so it's constantly different things and people that draws me back to the game and keeps me here :] (I quit several times but always came back cause of my friends XD LAVCHUGUYS<3)

I started out with a character that I don't even remember the name of (because Taney, my main, is in slot two, and a character I created AFTER Taney is in slot one), I think she was a squire? Female something? LOL.

I tried to get my RL friend to play with me but she got bored easily because of lag and lack of boys to flirt with. >_< Ooooh if only she had met all the playa's of today. ;)

I knew I was hooked because I spent all day in school thinking about how I wanted to be Rogue xDD
I ended up somehow befriending Helen :o in my days of noob, who introduced me to all sorts of cool people. xD

Like everyone else I was bored and clicked a random banner ad xD In my case I was playing another game and liked what I saw so I signed up...but my computer stank horribly so I never got around to playing during CB. Shortly after OB opened though I hit winter break, got a new comp, and decided to try the game with the cute banner ads xD

I would have to say I got hooked pretty quickly and that I was a total nub (AGI XENIAN FTW!). Around lvl 45ish I met my now in-game bro Nero Mystyra and from there I basically met every active CB player xD Most of my really old friends are now gone but many of my closest ones (like my guildmates <3) are still around!

I had just quit an MMO called Dofus and i was looking for a new MMO to get addicted to. I saw an Ad with a pic of a cute anime girl holding a sword and the fancy Secret Of The Solstice title above her head so i decided to check it out.

I got hooked on it when i realized the graphics were a lot like Ragnarok's but waaaaay cooler and more modern and just plain addicting. Also got hooked when i turned intto a Neo and seen my outfit for the first time and began dodging attacks with lvl 1 Enhance lol

i was looking for a game to play so i googled for MMORPGs and found fiesta.

i made a girl cleric named bob ali tos in fiesta and as soon as i logged in, all i could see was the spam advertisements... I tried to play that game but it didn’t work for me since their hands were so freaking big compared to the body!!.. That afternoon I went on youtube to look for fiesta videos when I stumbled upon a SoS video. I was amazed by the significant resemblance in appearance to RO <3 (I think I MIGHT have made one of those RO threads if anyone can remember... Lol ) so I quickly uninstalled fiesta and downloaded sos ^^

I knew I was going to play acolyte so I was probably the first ever INT XENIAN D<

I got hooked when I met a girl neo named ~Loujhee~. She surprised me by telling me that she was the highest cleric playing in the game (lvl 9x!) I was like [[O.O]]

I know two boys who are addicted to random games, and they introduced me to a Flash single-player RPG. I was at their house watching them try to level, and I saw this ad for something called "Solstice" with a cute anime-like chibi in it. Unfortunately they had just refreshed, and I didn't see the rest of the title, so I pushed it aside in my mind to look up later.

One day I was sitting at home trying this Flash game out and getting bored of it, then I saw the ad again. Curious, I clicked on it, and it took me to this gorgeous looking site, and I realized that the full title was "Secret of the Solstice." I read the story, looked at the classes, and watched the trailer.

The trailer was the first thing that did me in.

The music was awesome, and I saw all these cool skill animations, so I just HAD to try this game out, even if only to hit first class change and then ditch. (I used to play another MMO to first class change, then I ended up quitting because I wasn't having fun dodging KoSers.)

I made my first character an apprentice. I'd always liked to fight long-range with magic attacks, so it was the natural class to go for. I don't remember what happened, but I ended up making an acolyte too. The acolyte had lower attack, but it was a fun class to play, and I focused on leveling her up instead.

I was around Brynhild leveling up when Kagura (the 7x disciple who quit) just stopped all of a sudden and gave me 100,000 kron. o_O; When I asked her how I could pay her back, she just told me to be a good acolyte. That promise I made to her has kept me going until now. :)

Well, I forget, but i believe I remember this game going into Open Beta while ago and thats when I began. I quit for a year or so , but recently came back. Not sure why, but I guess I just keep hoping the game will get better as it goes along so I might as well level up a bit.

I did a search for games - My bf and I were playing Kal online - and that was just to confusing for me and the characters weren't cute - So during my search, I based my descion on how cute the characters were lol - So I found SOS, and the graphics were just amazing looking.... so I downloaded it - started playing got my little aco to lvl 10 and soon realized that you could marry people! I was so excited for some dumb reason lol - So I told my bf in rl, that he just had to stop playing kal, and play my game instead, cuz we could get married (we dont have enough money in rl to get married lol) so I thought it would be cool to get married in game! So then I got him addicted for a little while... He went back to Kal, we moved, and I kept playing and playing and playing - FINALLY I got him back to it :D And here we are..... over a year of playing it! And guess what, we still aren't married in game lmao :DD I love SOS, its much easier to get the hang of than alot of other games, in my opinion.

Around Jan of last year me and vio were searching for a new game to play online. Vio found Fiesta and Secret of the Solstice and we both looked at screen shots of both games and I thought Solstice looked cute as flip. So we both tried it and have been playing since.

Back in January of last year, I was playing a browser game, but I got bored of it and decided to try a MMORPG (this is my first one xD)... So I looked for something in a download site. I actually wanted to play Ragnarok, but I didn't want to register there so I looked for something else... When I read people's comments that SoS looked like RO, I decided to try it.

While I was downloading it, I took a look at the forums to check what class I would be... Then I decided to make a Neo. I was so nub back then that I used to mash my mouse button to spam Threaten. lol

However, after I got to lv 36, I got bored of playing her and decided to make an alt... I didn't know what class I would make, so I just picked the name An00bis and made it the class I think that suits the name: App (because they cast fire :O). But it was so fun playing it, I stopped playing my Neo and decided to have my App as the main.

Oh man, I can't remember whether it was facebook or myspace that I saw the add and was like why not? I'd played a couple RPGs through Livejournal, but nothing to this nature. I had a really light load in terms of my schoolwork the fall I started playing so it just started out as something interesting to do after school. I don't remember when exactly I got hooked. I was alone for pretty much all of CB and many of the people that I partied with at the beginning of OB either went to Fiesta or just kinda disappered. It was probably the Loren Crew that got me officially hooked and was a collaboration of a LOT of people who I am still friends with a year later to this day.

i was playing World of warcraft for about 4 years. had raided that game with 40 other persons doing all the raid dungeons spending hours sun-thursday just to kill bosses and learn new bosses.
after we had done all the bosses in the expansion and guild died since many veterans had got there super gear they wanted from all bosses there was nothing to do or join anohter guild.
since i allready had done all and feel i need to cut down in gaming i wanted a relaxing game.

Omg...I don't even remember most of those people. Except for the ones i still see around ingame today. EaterofPie OMG! I originally played fiesta for like a week(totally fforgot how I found it) and thought it was so lame then I saw SoS was coming out in a week so I decided to stay and give it a try. I had a little bit of time to play each day and basically didn't know anyone until I was 5x then met dylan the first person on my b-list. xD Eventually started going with the loren partys and made so many friends. I wish I remembered more of them all I rmb is dieing A LOT lol. Took me 7 months to get knight and got to 8x without sc x.x.

Damn I miss Eater and Pepto some great healers there. had so much fun with everyone doing them as nub and I remember how I thought it was so godly for ppl to be aoeing loren LOL.

Pepto was a damn good healer and my favourite one when i was in my lvl 50's. Everytime people shouted for a Loren party i would join it right away if i knew Pepto was gonna be in it. I've never died at Loren and Rudwork with Pepto looking over me. I miss her so much :(

You guys remember Dark Network the squire? He always used to lead the Loren parties as the main tank. He was the first squire i've seen wearing the lvl 54 Trial helm which i instantly fell in love with =P

My favourite App from back then was Ameranth haha he was rock solid and strong as hell with his 300+ dmg in Loren.

I was heavily into a Blizzard MMO (one that's been around since 1994, figure it out :cool:) and on the advertisement bubble every now and then a blue banner showing Secret of the Solstice would show up. Since this other game was still my daily crack I didn't give it much thought.. then one day my girlfriend tells me about this game she was looking at, and while working out of town I downloaded the [1hr37min x_x] game as I was eating dinner.
I made Bekkin, a Xenian and began wandering Arcarinas Square, but something was weird, because there was a mass of people gathering in the center of the map. By the time I had hit level 10, Hou****s were being spawned, and a great big battle erupted! I'm pretty sure I died a few times, taking 120+ damage from Death Blade !!! flying every which way.
Escaping that fray, I ran into the Trisects and trained until reaching level 16, then *tried* a few times to get to Reinmoth (eventually succeeding) and changed class to Rogue ;)
Then not 30 minutes later, rider was shouting Thank you for playing!! and the game closed.
And that was the five hours I spent playing Closed beta.

AFTER A WHILE, ONE WEEKEND I STARTED, WANTED TO BE A NEO, I ALWAYS LIKE SPEEDY THIEF TYPE CHARACTERS N GAMES. LINK 8 WAS BORN, AND MY 1ST REAL FRIEND N GAME WAS AN APP OR ACO ( I CANT REMEMBER WHICH ONE I MET 1ST CAUSE SHE HAD AN APP AND ACO) NAMED MIYHOKO (I MISS HER ALOT). I was playing Fiesta at first and when i saw on the Outspark site that SoS was opening up in CB i was like oh snap! I gotta try this game then i registered for CB and I got in the 2nd day it came out, i was not accepted on the first wave of CB keys but break was passing em out still so i got lucky and got one :], and from there i got hooked and met a few "noobs", one is named Haruka lawlz ;P

My Friend in reallife and I were both bored. But my Friend introduced me to Solstice i tried it out and there I was. I made Aska my 1st App, Hammer my 1st Squire, Zeratul my 1st Neo and Rift my 2nd neo, HP+ my Acolyte. Each time i would log in and grind with my friend in duo's. Eventually i got to Mage Knight Neo lvl 60 a scout and almost Disciple lvl.

I learned fast that all my stats builds on each character was messed up because i was new and i kinda didnt had sc at that time to change it all.

My friend and i began fighting in reallife thus no more duo's it was just me with messed up character stats. I was mad and i thought to myself ahwell gotta grind i guess. I deleted Zeratul and recreated him...went to mystra hill eventually and i noticed that because i only duo'd i was to depended on my friend and i kept dying.

One day in mystra hill i got mobbed and i ran for safezone...i wasnt gonna make it but this blue armored fighter came and whiped them all out. I was like wow never seen this class before because i was so noob to never have heard of the job class tree.
So i asked him "what class are you?" The Player said "im a Templar :D", and after talking to him explaining all his skills i thought to myself i need to start fresh and im deleting everyone, made a new account and i created "~Rage~". I solo'd from lvl 1 to 45 to lvl 66 and i started using spark cash when i turned 54 the first time i used sc was on this character. Ive been on Rage ever since

then i saw an ad, checked it out, thought it was non-downloadable so i signed up =.=
turns out it needed downloading.... didnt ever go to the website ever agin unitil bob ali tos told me he found a game like RO.... then remembered that i signed up for this game... @.@....

bob downloaded it and i was instantly hungry to play it >.> so i did a few chores for bob, he let me play 2 hrs for 2 days...and i was addicted <.<

but it was summer, had summer league b-ball so i couldnt play + bob wouldnt let me...

so i went hibernation for about a year... after getting my ankle injured, and bob's laptop was taken away...

he DL the game into my mom's crappy laptop that i play now currently use... so i now have free acces to the game (no more doing chores for bob) and have a lil time to play it...

i renewed my addiction during the last week of last summer and lvled to lvl around my 50s...till...

school began and i had to limit my playing time >.< so here i am now, i only lvled about 5 times since last summer (autumn fall b-ball, then got my knee injured b4 the try outs FUDGE >.>)

but i now also have some other chars while bob has 2 2nd job chars and 2 3rd job and is working for 4th job >.>.................eeeeeeeeeffffffffffffffffffff school !!!

Man i remember i was so excited wen i got BS and SC and Blazing (till i wasted 6 stats on wiz =.=, then they took that req away <.> and i had to waste about 4k sc on a restat)

mmm lemme think.. i was playing diner dash online and.. i was clicking some random games on this site(which i have forgotten).. and then boom it downloaded... ahahahaha... it was a long download.. and at the middle of it.. i think i almost canceled the process.but then i realize.. this is worth a try.. and dang!! im an addict.. well (noT)..just little ^^^^

I was playing some crappy flash game and got sick of it and was looking for something to do while my wifey was in grad school March of last year. I was reading some manga and saw the SOTS banner and clicked on it. My favorite games of all-time were FF3 for SNES and PS IV for SG and the graphics for this game looked like a 3d version of it. I started a squire and played to like level 48 by partying and soloing. Leveling got very slow and I got bored. I stopped playing for a few months and decided to come back and make an aco named Nekki Basara. I bought some sparkcash and ran to Candyvault at level 16 and started partying in Alicia. I met Tenachu when he was an app and we started grinding and then aoeing when he got lightning. I joined Sacred Order/Remnants IV, got to level 59 and stopped playing my aco once the guild collapsed. I started playing a month or so later under my squire again. I grinded it out in Beltranin to level 51 and started aoeing all the way to Warrior (who has leveled once in months).

First I was leveling her character, then I decided that I was good enough to make one myself

I was aiming for Templar (way from the beginning XD) so I chose acolyte

First I google searched for a game...Found this one :P....When I started playing I lvled to lvl 16 killing those things in the fake south bryn and was like "its so easy to lvl in this game." Than about a week after I started grinding(and found a xen ironically :P) I had 1.2 mil and santa started....I farmed about 140 xens and got lvl 30-50something and had a ball being rich :P for a short time xD.
